This was our 1st time in Crete! We had a great time staying at this hotel. We booked two rooms and didn’t do the all inclusive because we wanted to explore the other restaurants in the area. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet as it had a lot to offer, from pancakes, breads, homemade jams, eggs, fruit, spreads. I enjoyed the daily aqua aerobics and apologies I can’t remember his name but he was great and funny too! If you want to go to the beach, make sure you have water shoes because it is a bit rocky! Staff was super friendly and helpful also. Rooms were very clean and serviced daily with clean towels too! And you should take a trip into the old town because it’s about a 15 minute cab ride and worth the trip too! Thank you again!

Hotel for pensioners, no fun and animation. One swimming pool with salt water. Rocky beach. No attractions for children. No music in the swimming pool. The area around the hotel is not very attractive.! Rocky beach I don't know who gave 5 star

Everything at this place is just wonderful. We enjoyed the oppurtunity to have a lot of relaxing time at the beach, at the pool and at the bar. Especially the evenings at the bar with @Venizelos and @Marco were very special. They create us a wonderful time - with jokes, music, dancing, cocktails and a show of throwing bottles to the air. We would be happy to have more of this evenings left. Go there and see for yourself :) All the best Ramina & Meli

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks, we had an excellent stay. The food was excellently prepared and extremely diverse. There is also an a la carte restaurant, where you can go if you make a reservation. The drinks were very good, with no discount on quality. The rooms are very elegantly decorated in white marble. The fact that the entrance to the sea is a bit stony is compensate by the large pool with water from the sea. The whole team of the hotel contributed to our wonderful stay, and I would like to notice Mrs. Georgia, F&B manager, extremely dedicated to her activity and very attentive to the clients. When you arrive at this hotel, don't miss the Greek nights, and admire the sunset on the beach enjoying the wonderful cocktails prepared at the beach bar.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday at The Rethmyno Palace hotel. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Check in was fast and efficient. Reception staff were happy to help. For example there was a bottle of red wine in our room as a welcome gift. We don’t drink red wine so I asked if it could be swapped for white and this was promptly done while we were at the pool. The room was spotless and the shower was great - Greek plumbing has definitely improved in recent years! We did reserve sunbeds in our favourite area of the pool, and most were gone by 10am. There were also beds on the beach and there generally seemed to be enough for everyone. I’d like to mention the amazing team of cleaners who seemed to work all day and into the evening keeping the outside areas spotless. The food was very good; there was a huge choice. We were on the all inclusive package and we liked the little touches in the restaurant such as they leave you a bottle of wine so you don’t have to keep looking out for a top up! The beach bar was also very good, a wide range of cocktails and other spirits. There was a comprehensive menu of what was included in the AI package. There was no pressure to tip although of course we did and staff were always very appreciative. There was also the bonus of a glorious sunset each day from the beach and our balcony. The highlight of the holiday for us however were the evenings we spent in the Lobby Bar. We would like to say a huge thank you to Marko and Stavroula for the great drinks, super service and letting us choose our favourite music :) We hope we will see you again next year.

Overcrowded, food a little tasteless (compared to local restaurants), could hear everything from corridor in a room. Sometimes staff did not notice us during breakfasts and therefore we need to go for a coffee on our own (5/7 times not served). Didn't offer packing breakfast for early flight. Looks like not enough sun beds to the volume of people! At the other hand, when staff served us it was very friendly and nice experience. Hotel rooms and amenities look pretty. Ladies at the beach bar very helpful.

Just checked in today and already looking for new accommodations. Upon arrival, we went to the front desk and the two hosts looked miserable. Without a welcome they handed us some forms to sign and to sit at the bar to fill it out. I had to ask them if there was tension between us as they were honestly the most unfriendly people I have ever met. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes me not want to visit Greece again. Once the forms were completed, the man brought us to our room. The room was very warm and the AC was broken so the technician had to come up to “fix it” but still does not cook down the room completely. After the technician left, the room now has a very nasty smell which we can not find the cause. Since the hosts at the front desks are not friendly, I don’t feel comfortable asking for assistance again. Our room is considered a pool view but overlooks the roof of the restaurant so no view whatsoever. We requested to change rooms but they refused the request. The safe will not work unless you pay for the deposit, which was not discussed upon check in. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, maybe a 3 star at most. Don’t waste your time, book somewhere else.

Went in may, weather was great. Room was clean and had all facilities, staff kept it clean and stocked every day, including bottled water. We had half board and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and with a good selection of dishes including omelettes cooked to order The evening buffet had a great selection of dishes including salads and veg dishes . Everyday was different and all was well cooked , although some dishes were a little over salted. It has its own beach with loungers which are included in price. The beach is a combo of sand , gravel and stones but the sea is reasonably safe There is a large pool with lifeguard and a childs pool All in all great to relax in , no complaints, would certainly return The staff were also very attentive and helpful

a great place for a relaxing holiday in the sunshine on this beautiful island, Great staff, amenities and location. Really wish we could have stayed another week! We were treated really well and felt full Greek hospitality The next morning we found our way to the dining area- we were all inclusive so able to have a good choice of breakfast lunch and dinner options, contrary to other reviews on here, we found the food to be fresh and tasty you have the option of sitting inside or outside overlooking the pool and the beach beyond . The pool area is lovely and there was plenty of sunbeds (although the hotel was not full) The beach bar is great and a nice place to grab a snack or a drink if you don't wish to move from sunbathing! The beach is shingly and stony, further along the shore the stones have been removed- would be good if the hotel could do this- but not a major issue- just wear beach shoes. The bar in the lobby area is great, big shout out to Marco and his amazing (and very strong!) cocktails- you just need more menus around the bar!. There is also a mini supermarket on site and the lady serving is very helpful and friendly. She also sells bus tickets if you wish to travel to Rethymno town- reception has a timetable and map. The bus stop to go there is to the right of the hotel as you go out of it opposite a shop called Rosemary. The return stop is there also. The bus no is 20. It takes about 20-30 mins to get there, and is an interesting place to spend a few hours. Also near the bus stop are centres to book other excursions around the island should you wish to. The hotel also has a spa and is very reasonably priced. During the day one of the staff members was walking around the pool/beach with promotional offers- worth waiting for these until you book. My massage was great. The spa is also the place where you hire the beach towels from. The indoor pool was closed on our visit due to Covid, but not a major issue. Overall an excellent stay with great staff. The hotel is located half way between the two airports on the island Heraklion and Chania- so take your pick. we used Holiday Taxis for our transfer who were excellent
