a great place for a relaxing holiday in the sunshine on this beautiful island, Great staff, amenities and location. Really wish we could have stayed another week! We were treated really well and felt full Greek hospitality The next morning we found our way to the dining area- we were all inclusive so able to have a good choice of breakfast lunch and dinner options, contrary to other reviews on here, we found the food to be fresh and tasty you have the option of sitting inside or outside overlooking the pool and the beach beyond . The pool area is lovely and there was plenty of sunbeds (although the hotel was not full) The beach bar is great and a nice place to grab a snack or a drink if you don't wish to move from sunbathing! The beach is shingly and stony, further along the shore the stones have been removed- would be good if the hotel could do this- but not a major issue- just wear beach shoes. The bar in the lobby area is great, big shout out to Marco and his amazing (and very strong!) cocktails- you just need more menus around the bar!. There is also a mini supermarket on site and the lady serving is very helpful and friendly. She also sells bus tickets if you wish to travel to Rethymno town- reception has a timetable and map. The bus stop to go there is to the right of the hotel as you go out of it opposite a shop called Rosemary. The return stop is there also. The bus no is 20. It takes about 20-30 mins to get there, and is an interesting place to spend a few hours. Also near the bus stop are centres to book other excursions around the island should you wish to. The hotel also has a spa and is very reasonably priced. During the day one of the staff members was walking around the pool/beach with promotional offers- worth waiting for these until you book. My massage was great. The spa is also the place where you hire the beach towels from. The indoor pool was closed on our visit due to Covid, but not a major issue. Overall an excellent stay with great staff. The hotel is located half way between the two airports on the island Heraklion and Chania- so take your pick. we used Holiday Taxis for our transfer who were excellent…
Myself and some friends recently went to Rethymno Palace for a weeks holiday. I have to say, it was a fabulous week. Even though it was 'out of season' by a few weeks, the hotel was busy and had activities on for those who wanted to join in. We opted more for a relaxing sun lounger week and I personally made my way through the all inclusive cocktail list (which was long) and have no complaints about any of it! Our accommodation was really nice. Cleaned daily by really hard working staff and the welcome sandwiches, crisps and baklava on our arrival was a nice special touch that got our holiday off to a lovely start! I cannot fault any of the staff. Such hard workers and all genuinely friendly, chatty and accommodating. A special shout out has to go to Grigoris who looked after us at meal time. Our friend had a birthday while we were there and he organised for some mimosas and a cake to celebrate with no trouble at all, which was really kind! But every single person at the hotel was amazing. From the cleaners, to the reception staff who helped sort us out taxis to town. Another special shout out has to go to Marko, Venizelos and Christos who were tending the bars and were always really friendly and make the best drinks! The restaurant was great as well. There was always a large selection of different, freshly made food which all looked and tasted great. It was always a task to narrow down what food I wanted to try rather than struggling to find anything at all. A wonderful problem to have! All in all it was a relaxing and fun week away in beautiful surroundings, with friendly people! I would go back again in a heartbeat!…
The room and balcony near the huge swimming pool was very nice and clean. The service was excellent and the facilities are well maintained. The staff are very kind and very helpful at all times of the day and night. Special mention must be given to Emily, the bartender at the Beach Lounge Bar; Emilio , the trainer at the Gym , Maria and Giorgos of the in-house mini-market and Nicole, Vikki and Elina who gave us excellent and relaxing massages.
First of all i want to thank the management of the hotel for giving me the opportunity to work at the bar of this amazing hotel and i hope we will be here the next year. I want to say many many thanks from the bottom of my heart to each of the guests who spend time with me and make my evening special. You make me feel that i was not working but i was one more part of your family. I don’t have words to say how lucky i was. One bug hug from each of you for spending your time making a review for the hotel and writing such a good things for me and for my collègues. I hope se you again soon…
people in Crete are generally very warm and polite, which I appreciate a lot. The sea on this side of crete mostly calm. The hotel is constantly kept very clean. Our room did have a slight but persistent unplesant odour throughout our stay. The hotel has a nice large pool with salty water which feels like it's slightly colder than the sea. The food is ok, though they could put more effort on the bread and the coffee as well as offering a more autoctonous atmosphere.. During our stay there was one musical event. The decoration is nicely planned. Other aspects to develop: There is an outdoor restaurant in front of the beach that plays their music far too loud starting in the morning, considering the average age of the customers is over 50, some children and some teenagers, surely their main interest won't be to rave. Customer service:I thought it wasn't the politest thing to ask us to pay the "extras"( safety box, and drinks during dinner) the afternoon before the day we left, given that plausibly we could have consumed more that same night.…
We have been twice in this hotel - first time 3 years ago and second time this year in September. Great service, especially bartender Marco from the lobby bar and massage therapist Anna Mavraki from spa center which is on the ground floor. Very clean and nice-looking rooms, cool animation and nice events every day (additional appreciation to animator Emiliano for such dedication). We enjoyed Greek night very much and great performance on the stage. And the last but not least - great job of beach bar bartenders Emily, Dimitris and Christos. They made out evenings unforgettable.
From the moment I arrived, everyone was so helpful and friendly, and it was clear the hotel is very well maintained, it’s spotlessly clean, beautiful and a perfect beach spot, it also isn’t far on the bus to the town and the bus was very cheap. Being alone can sometimes be nerve racking however the team at Rethymno Palace made me feel at home and made lots of effort to chat to me. Particular thank you to The Bartenders Marco and Charlie for taking the time to get to know me and keep me company during my visit! They also made fantastic cocktails, anything you want :) The food was lovely with a varied selection and the cakes were out of this world!! All of the staff from the reception to the dining couldn’t do enough to help you, and Maria and George downstairs made me feel like family. I had an amazing holiday, recharged my batteries and saw some beautiful sites and met some wonderful people. Thank you Rethymno Palace x…
One word to describe the entire experience is elegance. We loved everything about the room, people, decorations, sea view, gardening, beautiful flowers everywhere, peace and quite most of the time so we could recharge the batteries. Thank you captain Ioannis & crew for pleaseant attitude, even after long hours of work. We were also surprised to find a magic shop at the base floor of the hotel, a must visit I say. Take a peek and you can find two of the most dear and sweet greek people we have met, 💕 lady Maria and Mr. George and their beautiful sea crafted works of art. Also don't forget to check out the koi fish team that guards the base floor. All in all a great experience, good food, especially the greek salad and greek specific dishes.
We stayed here from the 2nd till the 9th of September. I definitely can say it was awesome! Nice place, good rooms, variable eat and very hospitable and friendly staff! The last point is the greatest achievement! Special thanks to the barmen Marco and waiter Spyros they were incredibly friendly and provide us with the highest service. So, in a nutshell, I can say now we know what does real Crete hospitality means! Looking forward to coming back here.
We stayed here for 9 nights as a family of 4. Trip Advisor stated in the facilities section that there was a kids club but when we arrived we found there wasn’t one. We really missed this for our children aged 7 and 8. The website states 2 restaurants but if you are all-inc then there’s really just 1 - the buffet. A fair amount of choice but not great to go to for 9 nights, lunches and breakfasts. We went out for a few meals as we were fed up of the same place day after day. All of the staff we came across were very lovely and friendly. Can’t fault any of them. Special shout out to: Alexandria at the buffet, Dimitius and Emilia at the beach/pool bar, all of the reception team and Emilyan from the animation team! We used the spa and found the space was very dated and tired...but the staff Vicki and Nikol were exceptional as were the treatments that they gave. They tried their utmost to ensure my family and I were happy and comfortable. Its not fully all-inc. you have to pay 3 euro per day for the safe and a deposit for beach/pool towels. Most of the drinks on the all-inc list are un-drinkable and you have to pay to have the nicer drinks. All that said, the weather was perfect and the pool was lovely. Our room was a very good size up on the 4th floor with a view of the pool then the sea in the distance. We were happy to be away as a family and appreciated the welcoming nature of this hotel brought about by its staff.…
