Rooms were quite big, but practically without wardrobe, so we had to keep majority of the clothes in the suitcase. Beds were too soft and not very comfortable for sleeping, shower was so small that even our children were complaining about the space and for last 3 days there was not enough warm water for all 4 of us. The worst part was the cleaning, the room was cleaned 3 times in two weeks, and sheets were changed only once, one day before we left. Even when we left the sign on the door to clean up the room, nothing happened. Hotel area is really nice, with lot of pools and children can enjoy the time in the hotel, also pool bars were really good and hotel staff was always nice and friendly. Food variety was very good, although the taste was nothing special, but generally it was ok. We enjoyed baklava as a desert, that was really delicious. The beach is close to hotel and very nice, shoes are recommended due to the rocks in the sea.

We do NOT understand that this is a 4 star TUI hotel! Maybe it would, just barely, be 3 stars The hotel was worn and run down!
We had to change rooms after one day, when the safe was broken. And this only after a little discussion with the staff at the reception who mostly rolled their eyes.
The first room (no. 911) stale and small with a rock hard bed and a wardrobe, nowhere to put clothes, only a few hangers. The floor surface disappeared when we opened the suitcases.
We had to change rooms and then suddenly we had a slightly fresher and larger room with 2 wardrobes, one of which had shelves for clothes. The bed was also softer. But a safe that worked. The lock on the balcony door was anything but lockable. Sleep was disturbed every night by the old and rusty refrigerator that coughed and hissed.
Mater was ok, but no wow experience, same mater theme every day. Coffee was only served for breakfast in the dining room, so I went out and got a kettle, mugs, instant coffee and milk for the hotel room.
The key to the safe cost 2 euros per day and if you wanted a beach towel, there was a deposit fee of 2 euros and a cost of 1 euro if you wanted to change during the week.
The absolute best was leaving the hotel every day and going down to the beach and enjoying the sun and swimming! However, remember that you need bathing shoes as it is rocky!
We enjoyed our time in Rethymnon, but will not stay at that hotel again!

Definitely not a 4star hotel. It was alright if you don’t have high standards. But it was not homey, I didn’t not want to stay there the whole day so our AI was a waste. Also all include starts from 10-22:00 and it included a snack during the day witch was nice, different cocktail options and three types of wine. The room was alright but it just feels cold, everything is white and with glass… we had ants in our room so we couldn’t leave anything on the table. The toilet has zero privacy, so if you are a shy person you have to be prepared that the toilet has a glass door next to the bed and you can hear everything, feels like there is no door. They didn’t change our sheets the whole week, just cleaned and changed the towels. Food was cafe type, nothing special, no extra flavours or something special. For kids there were some type of fries all teh type and in teh mornings pancakes or something of that sort. It was not a good weather the first half of the week so we couldn’t enjoy full possibilities the hotel offers like pool and pool bar. If you are travelling with and infant than the travel cot was alright, we used it without their mattress as it was different size as the bed. Overall it was good but nothing extra or special to expect from here. I’ve been to some cosier places with as much stars, but it obviously depends on your expectations. Lidl was quite near and a bus stop. You can leave your car on the other side of the hotel. It’s not an official parking but just a street where is free parking. We chose to stay in Airbnb afterwards as it was trying to drive with a baby all the time, usually they had travel cots in all of them so that is an option if you can’t decide where to stay.

The hotel and TUI describe this as 4 star. Would say Max 3! Dirty, worn, mold, rust. The fridge didn't work, the shower/toilet was moldy. The towels were torn. The food/breakfast was the same all week even though they say they have theme nights. The pool areas were nice and plentiful, they could do with updating their sunbeds though, felt like they were about to collapse. The beach is a bit away across the road but worth getting there. Nice staff at the reception. The cleaning involved changing towels when requested and scrubbing the floors and making the beds. They didn't bring trash. Dirty glasses in the toilet when we checked in, we put the glasses on a table but they ignored them all week. The hotel charges for changing the towels even though they say they are included free of charge. The safe costs ÂŁ2 per day. However, TUI were helpful and we received compensation from them because of the above and that their description did not correspond to reality.

Booked an all inclusive but there wasn't that much choice.
Drink: there were only a few choices of drinks otherwise it would cost. You didn't get bottles of water either, you had to buy them at a supermarket instead, which was bad as most all inclusives offer free water.
Food: says that it would be different themes but it wasn't, not that big of a variety of what was served Felt like repetitive dishes and some authentic Greek dishes weren't even there. Coffee and tea were only served at breakfast and it was closed during lunch and dinner, available at the pool bar but then it was outside and not in the restaurant.
Cleanliness: We were there for 7 nights and they only cleaned/mopped the floor 1 time during that stay but emptied the bin every day although if you asked them to come back after a few minutes to empty the bin when you might be changing they never did instead, it was the next day that they emptied the trash. They never refilled any toilet paper either, but you had to go to the reception and ask for it basically every day, then you got one roll at a time. You had to pay a sum for towels for the pool and if you wanted to exchange them for new ones, you had to pay a sum for each exchange and towel.

The hotel does not deserve 4 stars; it is more like 2 stars. There is a constant shortage of towels (they were either not replaced or there were too few), and in the restaurant, there was always a lack of cutlery, plates, glasses, wine glasses, and coffee cups. We had to use plastic cups and cutlery, which should not be the case in a 4-star hotel. The rooms were dirty, there was mold in the bathrooms, and the housekeeping either did not clean the rooms or did so very superficially. A broken shower in the room was repaired after 2 days despite numerous requests. The pool water was dirty (they only added powdered chlorine to the pools every evening) – after swimming in the pool, my daughter got a genital infection and I got an ear infection. The pool had damaged tiles, which did not meet safety standards (several people cut their feet and had stitches in the hospital during our stay). There were unsecured open manholes by the pool where children could have fallen in. The showers by the pool were dirty, moldy, and smelly. There was an unpleasant sewage smell near the room. Honestly, I do not recommend this hotel; we do not have high expectations, but this hotel is below all standards. Don’t go there; this hotel should be closed and renovated. Moreover, there is only one main buffet, not several as stated in the offer. There are only 2 functioning bars (one of which is self-service only for beer and wine), and the main lobby bar is not operating. The only plus of this hotel is the water slides in the pool. The evening entertainment is terrible and only happens 3 times a week – a magician’s show (one person fooling around), belly dancing (very weak, with 2 dancers), Greek night (only 2 men playing and singing, with no dancers). The bartender at the pool bar tries to be eco-friendly and asks for plastic cups to be returned so they can be refilled and thus reduce the amount of plastic used, but it doesn’t matter because the hotel uses tons of plastic as they have no glasses or plates!!!"

Please don't come here. A catastrophic hotel, not even worth one star. The rooms are dirty and moldy. The food selection is very poor, the same food every day and everything tastes very bland. The children don't eat anything. We have to eat outside every day so that the children and we have something decent to eat. The pool areas are not cleaned and everything is moldy. We booked all inclusive but a lot of things have to be paid for extra, such as towels and drinks. Drinks are only served in plastic cups. The whole complex is very dirty. A horror complex.

I was quite disappointed when I arrived at the hotel. I had booked a family room with open solution, where there was promised a double bed in the description. I didn't get this. The room was dirty, there were ants in the room, dirty mattresses and stains on sheets, towels etc. We turned directly to the reception and explained the situation, showed photos etc. We were answered that we did not get a new room and they could not do anything until the next day. It was uncomfortable having to sleep in this room. The next day we complained again. Then we were told that they could wash the room, but we didn't get anything new. Neither did we get new towels. They fused two single beds and said they were happy with it, but there was a remaining big crack in between, and this will be for the drawers when you pay extra for one room where a double bed is promised.
The food was simple and a little boring. We also experienced hair in the food.
The bar at the pool was simple and it is offered cheap version of all soda etc. To be all inclusive then this will be drawers.
The only positive I can tell is that it was a good location in the hotel, some rooms have a private pool and the sunspots are fine.
I won't put my foot on this dirty hotel again. And you won't get any help here either.

Typically I don’t write reviews, but this time I will…. All bed sheets AND towels were dirty (they are white and you can see black spots everywhere). At cafeteria all furniture were very dirty. The hotel given water tasted very bad, so we had to buy it from supermarkets. The staff at the cafeteria was terrible (mostly). They are probably trying to econom on the air conditioner, so at the reception and at the cafeteria it’s not even turned on. So have in mind that when you will check out at 11;00 AM, if you will have to wait for a few hours it will be terrible experience, because it’s very hot there. Rethymno Residence hotel deserves maximum 2 stars - everything needs to be renovated - even air conditioners are working poorly. Plates and cutlery mostly were dirty - you have to SEARCH for clean ones - can you believe that - 4 star hotel??? Waiters are grabing the plates and barely asking if the meal is finished, so you always feel the pressure that your plate could get taken. It’s very annoying.

This hotel does not deserve a 4-star category nor does it belong in a travel catalog! The facility - especially the rooms - are old, run-down and completely dirty. Bathrooms completely calcified, fittings broken and shower moldy - the fridge also by the way. Absolutely no sign of cleanliness! Room cleaning limited to max. 5min, if anyone comes by at all. Towels are available max. Changed once a week, with a bit of luck there will be a salvation. Furniture is old, germs and broken - there is a risk of injury here. A touted "minibar" does not exist. The food is bland, zero variety and even the hot food is cold - cutlery and plates are in short supply Drinks are syrup-mixed from a vending machine and also out of stock. All coffee enthusiasts are severely disappointed: Coffee is only for breakfast. In the pool area (including private pools), cracked, sharp-edged and already detached tiles are the order of the day - again, there is an absolute risk of injury. To get to the beach, you have to maneuver through a nearby hotel (you feel like an intruder), the sun loungers are neatly collected. On the day of departure you have to check out at 11 o'clock, the hotel ribbon is removed directly and you are virtually "kicked out" before lunch - until the pickup you are then allowed to wait without food and drinks in the lobby - whose air conditioning is apparently only used for decoration purposes.
