I wrote a review 4 years ago which is printed below. Corona has been hard for all of us but hotels even worse. After making a reservation again this year I read some very negative reviews of this hotel which fortunately in my view were, at the very least, spurious. All 4 rooms that our family had were superb. The service was most polite, and I found the meals delicious. My son and wife are vegans so they were not so satisfied. The pools were clean and my grandchildren were simply ecstatic to go swimming every day. The beach on the sea was close and of course they loved that as well. The manager told me that they are renovating the rooms this winter. The bathrooms are the most important to improve . BTW the wifi was 10 times faster this time. I know because I measured it. Our whole family including 3 generations found this hotel more than satisfactory. Pools and slides for the children, good beach, plenty to do for the parents, and quiet relaxation for the us grandparents. Excellent cuisine for all, spacious suites, top notch cleanliness, and out standing courtesy from all the staff including the gardeners, waiters, cooks, receptionists, house maids and manager. I definitely plan to bring all of our family again.

Stayed here for 11 nights August 2023, The worst hotel I have ever stayed, cleaned our room twice and we constantly told them it hadn't been cleaned and they came at 6pm, broken furniture, the room smelled of damp and had mold. The restaurant was disgraceful never knew what anything was, everything was cold so had to eat out every night the world cuisine is Fried egg or pasta. Never saw the pool s cleaned, stated adults only pool area not got one. One bar that was dirty and drinks rancid. The list goes on and on, first time in 30+ years I wanted to get on the next flight home it was that bad, And Tui are an absolute waste of time.

I agree with other comments that it was dirty, unhygienic, and hotel also has some plumbing problems. Add to that, for additional services you are able to pay only in cash, and they don't have breakfast boxes.

Avoid! Hotel is dirty, room looks like I wasn't clean for good few months! We had a room with pool - massive mold on the wall next to the pool. Bathroom dirty , smelly and small! No lifeguard on duty - this meant to be family hotel! On a water slides- out of control! People using inflatables on slides- kicking other users, pushing ect! Overall one * I think would generous! Do not waste your money find another place to stay! I do understand covid hit industry hard but to keep hotel nice and clean is not a difficult job. Food - average always the same- not too much choice.

We have stayed there for a week, 29th July to 5th August. Hotel have all facilities as you may need, but the clean is very poor. The room was not cleaned all the week, only few towels changed once. Shower is very small, it is difficult for a tall person. Hotel have AI program. Restaurant 3 of 5 stars, breakfast always the same and after few days get bored, dinner and lunch have not rich variety of food. Hotel is second line, you have to go through other hotels to the beach. Beach is very rocky there, so you will need shoes. Hotel hasn't a parking, so you need to leave a car on a street.

Rooms were quite big, but practically without wardrobe, so we had to keep majority of the clothes in the suitcase. Beds were too soft and not very comfortable for sleeping, shower was so small that even our children were complaining about the space and for last 3 days there was not enough warm water for all 4 of us. The worst part was the cleaning, the room was cleaned 3 times in two weeks, and sheets were changed only once, one day before we left. Even when we left the sign on the door to clean up the room, nothing happened. Hotel area is really nice, with lot of pools and children can enjoy the time in the hotel, also pool bars were really good and hotel staff was always nice and friendly. Food variety was very good, although the taste was nothing special, but generally it was ok. We enjoyed baklava as a desert, that was really delicious. The beach is close to hotel and very nice, shoes are recommended due to the rocks in the sea.

The hotel we booked in Crete was unable to accept us for some reason, so we ended up at the RETHYMNO RESIDENCE hotel by accident. Overall positive impression. We arrived late, around 10.30 pm. Nevertheless, dinner and wine were waiting for us in the restaurant. A very big plus for the hotel for understanding. In the morning we discovered that the description from Tui did not match what we found on the spot. First of all there were 5 restaurants. There was only one, but the food was really delicious, a huge selection of excellent cheeses, very fresh fruit and vegetables, regional dishes regularly on the menu, and incredibly friendly service. Outside there was only one main bar by the main pool for snacks between meals. The bartender Antonio is charming but a bit poor in English, but very friendly nonetheless. The bartender ANDREAS is an intelligent young man with passion and bold plans for the future. Thank you for the long late night chat on my birthday and for recommending the book Nikos Kazantzakis - Zorba the Greek. Everywhere was very clean, outside and in the rooms. The hotel needs cosmetic fixes. One morning ants appeared in our bathroom, but the lady from the service dealt with them within an hour. On the day of our return we had to check out by 11 am. our flight wasn't until 10 pm. We wanted to extend our stay but were informed that we had to pay 70 euros. so we spent the day on the beach at the NALU tavern, where we only paid 40 euros for two meals and two carafes of wine. I sincerely recommend this place. The owner, Kiki, is a very nice and kind person. There was one more drawback - all TV channels were in German, Austrian or French. We asked at the reception for help, at least to listen to the Greek radio, unfortunately, for 7 days of our stay, we could not solve our problem. Overall it was ok but I would not choose this hotel again. Aurelia

Rethymno Residence and Adele Residence have a common reception, restaurant, swimming pool and bars. Avoid these hotels. Poor food, almost non-existent cleanliness, during the stay they didn't change our sheets, and I asked for the towels to be changed. It was only done with a mop. They don't have more than 2 stars. They are located in the second row of hotels, they do not have sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. I do not recommend..

got ripped off on last day as had to check out by 11am not picked up until 5pm not allowed to use any facilities during that 6 hour wait. we paid an extra 70euros to keep our room, use the pool & have something to drink, not bothered about food as most of the time it wasn't worth eating, luke warm at best, poor quality. online pictures show an indoor bar, there was no such thing, only bar was by the main pool.it described an adult only pool, no such thing nor adult only dining area.

We booked a TUI holiday to a supposedly four-star (really no more than 2/3 star) hotel in Crete, just outside Rethymnon. We had high expectations. It was listed as a beach hotel, but you had to cross a main road and find a footpath or cut through the really nice hotels just to get to the beach, so that was a lie to start with. There was supposed to be six restaurants; main buffet, Sushi and Asian, NYC Burger bar, Pizza and Pasta at Ristorante Italiano, Great Greek food and bar snacks. There was one buffet only. I never saw a single piece of sushi. When I complained I was told a variety of things; TUI have not updated the information on their website for four years; which is contravention of the trades description act at best. Then they told me the government wouldn’t let them serve food outside because of covid and because of Egyptian dust storms! They said all the styles of food mentioned were served on the afternoon snack buffet- a complete lie. Their idea of Asian buffet and Sushi was a plate of veggie spring rolls and some veggie dim sum. All the food was tired and some was off. The butter packs were rancid, the ice cream freezers were turned off overnight, the pancakes seemed to be put out again next day until they were so hard you couldn’t cut them with a knife. When I complained about this, they did not even deny that they kept putting the same food out. I was ill for the whole nine days I stayed there. Sorry to be graphic but I had diarrhoea 5-10 times a day every day. When I complained about this, I was told twenty other guests were also ill, as if it was somehow our fault. Maybe check your kitchen hygiene Rethymnon Residences hotel. There were two bars, one unmanned. There was no hot water until the afternoon, and the adult pool area was not kept free of children, although there were two other pools and a waterslide for them. I could go on and on, but I’ll save it for my complaint letter to TUI who I will never use again, as this is not my first bad experience with them. The entertainment was not bad, a magician, belly dancing and a Greek night. We gave the disco a miss.
