Just returned from an amazing week at the Zante Sun.
Having read some of the reviews I was a bit concerned but there was no sign of any negatives.
Easy transfer from the airport. Impressive looking hotel upon arrival and staff were welcoming and helpful.
Rooms were nice.
Every part of the complex is spotless with cleaners visible pretty much all day. 3 pools to choose from but we stuck to the main one. Clear signs around the hotel stating sunbeds not to be reserved and that any towels will be removed. This is adhered to which is fantastic. Meant beds were available on a first come first served basis, which is fair in my opinion. That said, we went on a boat trip and returned around lunch time and still managed to get 2 beds by the pool!
Food is great. Some criticism of this in other reviews but can't see why. Great selection of food at each meal. If there was nothing to suit in there I can't see how anybody would ever be able to eat at all.
Drinks are served in the restaurant, with wine, beer and soft drinks available. Other reviews have criticised no spirits but these are available in the bars so is it a big deal to not have spirits with food? Sometimes the staff were a bit slow with the table service for the drinks but again, not a big issue.
Staff in all areas were fantastic and made every effort to ensure guests were well looked after. Special mention to Marino on the pool bar. Lovely guy who went out of his way to help.
No entertainment in the hotel, which we knew about and really liked. Music is played in the bar at night but not too loud.
Rooftop bar which isn't included in the all inclusive. We didn't use it as the all inclusive ran until 11pm so plenty for us by then.
There is an upstairs lobby area which has stunning views across the bay. Nothing there but a nice place to get away from it all for an hour and read a book etc. Walk past reception and take the staircase in the far right corner by the massage chairs.
The town of Agios Sostis is a stroll away with some nice restaurants and bars there. Ask the staff to direct you as there is a back gate at the hotel which makes the walk easy. Out of the gate, turn right, turn left at the supermarket and you can't miss it. Cameo Island is a 5 minute walk (downhill) and the harbour is next to it. Laganas is a 15 minute walk away.
The water isn't drinkable and no bottled water provided but there is a supermarket literally over the road with bottled water costing next to nothing. Travel booking place opposite too with a very helpful lady there where you can book excursions, boat trips, boat hire, car hire etc.
Bar next door showed English football!
Would have no hesitation in recommending Zante Sun. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all of the staff.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. If you want to relax, this is the place to be. No entertainment, nobody bothering you with water polo, nobody hassling to book excursions etc. The only thing we were asked at the beginning was whether we'd had our free 10 minute facial, which was lovely. The pool bar opens at 10am and plays decent music throughout the day, just loud enough for you to hear but not booming. The hotel was spotless from top to bottom, every inch thoroughly cleaned everyday. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, very well presented. Tip-the fridge isn't stocked with water so try to pick some up if you arrive through the night. The hotel set out itself is quite easy to navigate and there are ramps and lifts for wheelchair users and pushchairs. We didn't use any other pool than the main pool. It has 3 large steps into it which enables you to set in the water without having to be fully in the pool, quite often people just sat in there reading and was great for non confident swimmers and children. We read reviews that said the pool was freezing but it was very warm when we were there. There was always a sun lounger available and there are plenty of parasols. The staff actually DO remove any towels left which is refreshingly great! We found it quite funny when people returned from where ever at 2pm looking for there towels after being out for half the day. The food......a little hit and miss for us to be honest. Plenty to eat, always chips and pasta so we didn't mind. We found the breakfast a little tedious and it was the same everyday. Big but coming, the meat they serve at dinner is absolutely beautiful. We had beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, rabbit and duck, I dont know what they do but it was gorgeous and I'm not a big meat eater and I loved it. Lunch in the main restaurant is just as good as at dinner but you have to be bone dry to set inside, if not you're seated outside. The poolside bar is good for chips, burgers, toasties and hotdogs that are cooked to order. There's also salad, subs and other bits available. Location is perfect, for a short walk, 5 minutes, either way out the back of the hotel, there bars, restaurants and a beach one side and the harbour and beaches on the other side. We didn't find it too expensive. The laganas strip is closer than you think, if you don't mind walking 10 minutes, it's just the other side of the harbour and a left turn. We were so excited to hire a boat after reading all the reviews but I was so disappointed. We hired a boat for 4 hours, couldn't swim into any of the caves because there was always a boat in there. It was so busy on the water, just boats flying about everywhere. We did get to see some turtles but the poor things are constantly surrounded by about 6 boats, it was heart breaking. Also you're not actually allowed to swim with them and could get a €500 fine of caught. I was just crazy, we wasted £170 to literally be stuck in traffic in the sea. All in all, I would go back to this hotel tomorrow, such a retreat!!

We stayed for 13 nights in August for my daughter’s wedding on Cameo Island. In total 22 of us stayed including 3;children 2 years old and younger. In the run up to the Wedding the Reservations manager was very helpful while my daughter was communicating with her and she also upgraded her room for the entire stay. The hotel has some positive and many negative points. Positive points: The rooms are very clean and the lady who cleaned our room was particularly considerate as she always made sure she left clean towels when she couldn’t access our room if our grandson was sleeping. The food is the restaurant is excellent at all meal times with plenty of choice . The reception staff the majority of the time were pleasant and helpful ( depending who was on duty). The Sky Bar is very nice with excellent Staff and Cocktails that are worth the extra money. It is disappointing that you can’t actually sit there all night as it is by far the nicest part of the hotel. Negative Points. The hotel is definitely not accessible for people with mobility issues or small children with many steps to different levels and too few lifts. To get from our room to the toddler pool it involved getting in one lift walking through the hotel getting into another lift and then carrying the pram up the last set of steps. Also there are no toilets at the toddler pool . The nearest ones are a flight of stairs away. The POOL BAR is not actually a POOL BAR because you get told off by the aggressive bar man if you are in the slightest bit wet. So there is nowhere to get a drink until you have dried off. I actually witnessed him telling some young men off then as if to make a point going to get a mop and bucket and making people wait while he mopped up his invisible puddle. The is no Lifeguard at any of the pools. I have stayed on many Greek Islands and there is always a lifeguard on duty. The Same POOL Bar is actually the main bar at night but due to the lack of tables you have to sit on the same sun beds that are used in the day. We did have a good holiday as we made our own entertainment but we found the hotel lacked atmosphere and was quite soulless. It is also the first hotel that we have stayed in where your AI ends at 11AM even if you have a later flight.

What an absolutely beautiful hotel. The staff work so very hard keeping the hotel spotlessly clean, The staff don’t stop always cleaning and the pool area’s are immaculate and most people pick up after themselves. Bins are constantly emptied and the outside pool toilets and shower (well toilets in general) are so very clean. No need to save sun-beds at all although a few people did !! We always got one. Meal times food is replenished (which is of good quality) constantly with the manager and head chef constantly checking that everything is so and is of a high standard and nothing is too much trouble. The desserts are just yummy. Some people on here say the food is repetitive (and I bet they eat the same thing at home week in week out) and ok it might be but they have tried to cater for everyone and let’s face it that is difficult. However, there was a good variety and it is of good quality and you won’t starve. The snack bar of a day is burgers etc and the lady who serves you is just lovely and again a hard worker. The pool bar drinks are fine - we found the soft drinks ok taste and the alcoholic ones were ok to for us. Some reviews we looked at people moaned about the alcoholic drinks not being strong enough, but we thought they were ok, each to there own. We went upstairs to the Sky bar lovely guy serving you and so chilled up there. Majority of the cocktails 8,00 euros and he really takes pride in the presentation etc. Lovely strong cocktails. There is music in the bars of a night but no entertainment and we were fine with this and knew this when booking. So if you want entertainment of a night don’t book here as the isn’t any you need to go out and about to find that. No kids club either, just a relaxing place. The whole of the hotel has air conditioning and our the room temperature was fine due to this. The room we stopped in had a double bed with a pullout for our son and both beds were comfortable. Bath Towels are changed every two days with soap and shampoo. The layout was a bit like a Premier Inn. There are a few coat hangers which didn’t bother us (seemed to bother others on their review!! ) so if you want more take some or ask for more. I can honestly say we had nothing to complain about and how some people have is beyond me. Don’t be put off by negative moans about this hotel a couple we met said she nearly cancelled but thought no I won’t and has had the best time too. I would defo recommend this hotel and have done already and will return . Thank you to all the staff for helping to make our holiday wonderful.

Bad Our stay at Zante Sun Hotel had both positive and negative sides. Although the hotel seemed promising at first glance, we unfortunately encountered some setbacks that made our experience less pleasant.
The balcony, which was supposed to offer a beautiful view, had a major disadvantage: the air conditioning was constantly leaking, so we got wet every time we sat there. This was particularly problematic on the lower floor, where the balcony was always wet due to the leakage. This made it difficult to really enjoy it.
The staff at the hotel were generally not friendly. It was noticeable that there was rarely a smile, which did not help the atmosphere in the hotel. On the other hand, the cleaning ladies were friendly and did a good job; the hygiene in the hotel was fine.
The food in the hotel was reasonable, although it was quite one-sided. Despite the limited supply, the quality of the food was good. Yet the all-inclusive concept did not feel truly ‘all-inclusive’. After 11 pm you had to pay €6 per cocktail, which is not what you would expect with this kind of arrangement.
Furthermore, there was no entertainment present in the hotel, which may be a lack for some. Another remarkable rule was that after 11 o'clock in the evening there was no talking on the balcony, which felt a bit excessive.
Finally, there was the pool bar. While it is nice to have a poolside bar, guests were expected to be dry when they went out for drinks. This made it less easy to get a quick drink after a refreshing swim.
In short, Zante Sun Hotel offers some strengths such as good hygiene and reasonable food, but there are also various aspects that could be improved, such as the friendliness of the staff and the operation of the air conditioning. The all-inclusive concept did not quite live up to expectations and the strict rules do not contribute to a relaxed holiday feeling. I do not recommend it especially for something young persons and people who like a cozy evening. For this price you are much better elsewhere!

From checking in to checking out haven't a single grumble , check in efficient , lovely bright reception .
Room just perfect , modern , all needed for an all inclusive stay and more ..
Three lovely pool areas all different in style and atmosphere , we opted for the pool at the rear of the property tended to be much more relaxed ( the others where still very relaxed just busier) , bar staff and waiting on staff all so helpful and polite , restaurant staff couldn't do enough for u , chief and manager both always around and cheery , everything in the hotel and grounds spotless and the pool maintenance man worked tirelessly making sure everything spot on ,i got very chatty with one of the cleaners , again i didnt even ask her name as we just chatted each day like we had know each years but such a lovely woman ❤️ if u cant find the spa its hidden behind the snack bar in the pool bar and lastly please go visit Bill in skyfall , i know a premium bar in this rating hotel should not be at extra cost but having said that for the price we paid we really didn't mind and its so relaxed up there with amazing views and Bill and his new assistant ( im so sorry i cannot remember your name ) made us the best drinks and we chatted so much , made us feel really valued ,try The Bond Girl if u like a baby Guinness or similar ❤️ but we tried a few and all where perfect , all in all highly recommend if you want a full on chill holiday . Btw sooo many people looked in at skyfall bar like it would be premium prices so just so you know before you go , its only €7 for two cold mythos bottles with an ice glass and cocktails vary from €8-€10 and very much worth it . Thank you Zante Sun xx

Had a fantastic stay here. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with our fridge but they worked on it until it was fixed and kept us updated on what was happening. The food was very good and very well presented with the restaurant manager making sure everything was kept in order whilst ensuring guests had everything they needed. Him and all the waitresses were very welcoming and during lunch and dinner brought bottles of water to the table and took your drinks order. We used the small pool at the back of the hotel and were always able to find a sunbed and at the snack bar there was a lovely lady that served the drinks and kept the area tidy. We had lunch a couple times at the main snack bar and that was also good. We really enjoyed the fruit cups which were filled with all kinds of fruit and the toasted sandwiches and burgers that were made to order. Again the staff at this bar/snack bar were very friendly. The rooms are very modern but my only complaint was there were no drawers to put anything in . They were cleaned every day. It is very quiet in the evening but you get used to it and we had brought a pack of cards with us so we were okay. We visited Cameo Island and my husband enjoyed his swim in the sea. It's 5 euro and you get a souvenir keyring. The little beach does get busy so best to go early. We also waled to Laganas a couple of times and enjoyed a drink on the seafront. All in all we had a great time and would definitely go back.

We’ve just returned from this hotel so I thought I would post the positives and some negatives.
Positives Beautiful hotel, very modern as updated in 2020, 3 large swimming pools, plenty of sun beds around all the pools. Our room was spotless, we had a loft room and it was only the 2 of us, so plenty of space, huge balcony with a table & 4 chairs, 2 Sun loungers and a hot tub and the air conditioning in the room was fab.
Food in the all inclusive restaurant was very good, breakfast through lunch and dinner, we did only go for lunch once though as usually we had eaten so much for breakfast we could last until dinner. Lots of choice every day, we couldn’t fault it. There is a snack bar by the pool which does burgers, hotdogs, French stick rolls, chips etc, again good quality food
The whole hotel is spotless, cleaners always mopping stairways and around the pool area, glasses collected quickly and all the staff were really friendly.
My wife used the Spa for a chocolate massage which she said was amazing.
There is a Sky Bar near reception which you pay for drinks at, nice views but never busy in there.
It’s in a quiet location, there is a restaurant next door and a bar also but otherwise you have to walk into Laganas which is 15-20 minutes or walk to Aghios Sostis beach, which again is 15 minute walk. The beach is ok, 2 sun beds and an umbrella for €6 for the day. Some bars and restaurants on the beach front, we ate in Ole Ole and it was excellent. Laganas wasn’t for us, too noisy and too many youngsters getting very wasted. The beach bars are quite nice but the Strip was manic.
Negatives
Jet2 say it’s a 20-25 minute transfer from the airport, it’s actually 45 minutes as this hotel is the last drop off, we didn’t mind but if you have little ones with you, it’s worth noting.
The main negative was the all inclusive bar, there’s only one beside the pool and the quality of drink is very poor. Cretian Lager which tastes ok but is very weak and you only get barely a half pint of it everytime.the cocktails and shorts are really poor, I drink G & T and the all inclusive offering was appalling. We bought some branded ones instead and we went out every night after dinner as there was no entertainment in the hotel.
If you’re looking forward to a few drinks in the sunshine on all inclusive then sadly you’ll be disappointed.

On first impression hotel looked amazing arrived quite late got told there was food at the bar but we didn’t get it just went to our room. Was abit difficult to find our room and had to carry the cases up and down a few steps. Room was nice just basic bathroom and was a double bed with single bed for my daughter. We had abit of trouble with the shower not draining and flooding the room but next day they came and sorted it. There is 3 pools one of them you have to go through an area at the back but the 2 main ones are ok. Do not try and reserve beds as they will move your towels which was quite funny to watch people come back and find there towels at the pool bar and not on the beds. The main pool bar has a choice of drinks ranging from alcoholic, fizzy, juice, ice tea, hot drinks and cocktails there is some drinks you have to pay for. There is no entertainment in the day or night so bring plenty of games if you’re staying in at night. Food was ok had plenty of choice but if your fussy then you may struggle, puddings were nice. Theres a couple of restaurants next door and a shop straight across from the hotel. Theres main town area is about 30 mins walk which we used google maps and put McDonald’s into it and followed it. You can also get a taxi. Staff were lovely and very hard working. If you want a lovely chill holiday then this is the place for you. We went for a walk out the back gates and the beach isn’t too far also out the front if you turn right you will come to another beach and a little island you can go on to over a bridge you have to pay to get in.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great variety of food. The hotel was modern, well maintained and very clean. Baboo made some fantastic cocktails up on the Skyfall bar which were better than at home. We had never stayed on this side of the Island, but the hotel was in a perfect location for catching a boat ride to turtle island or visiting Cameo Island. The restaurant staff were friendly and very helpful with finding a table. The hotel cuts off all inclusive at 11am on the day of departure and our pickup wasn’t until 16:30 so having no drinks/lunch before pickup wasn’t what we wanted to hear and something we have never experienced when travelling before. We were fortunate enough that Reception allowed us to pay for the extension of our room until 16:00 had our all inclusive extended until 14:00. Is this something that could be considered to be changed for guests in future? Thank you for the wonderful stay we had, we will definitely consider returning if the rules of All inclusive change (bringing our children with us just wouldn’t be an option without this change).
