Very easy to walk from New Harbor to hotel, unless you are adventurous the walk to Old Town is tough, but sea bus taxi is a nice ride. The Staff at hotel was very nice and helpful, the market next door has many things available. Good place if you want to be away from the crowds, good value.
Very disappointed that I can only give this place 2 stars as I’m sure had we visited any other time it would of been 4/5 stars but when we visited during the last week of October we were woken every morning from Monday -Saturday between 7.15 and 7.30 by builders working next door to our room constantly banging, drilling and using mixers which then went on all day until around 3.30 so this meant using the room throughout the day was unbearable and sitting on the balcony reading and trying to enjoy our amazing view was definitely out of the question!!! We would definitely not of booked this hotel had we been aware of this happening who wants to holiday on a building site!!! Also as they have a rule that you can only eat and drink food purchased from the hotel in any area other than your room unless we were willing to spend nearly €20 for a round of drinks each time we had to sit in our room listening to the builders if we fancied a lazy afternoon and not by the pool! This rule is strictly enforced to the point where we were sat waiting for the cleaner to finish our room one day when we returned with an unopened bottle of coke, some cakes still in the box and some packets of sweets and put them on a table whilst we sat chatting waiting the guy working on the bar came rushing over and told us to leave as we had our own things!!! We hadn’t even opened them and had no intention to we just had no where else to go so off we went rather embarrassed to sit on a wall by our room whilst we waited!!! £1100 this hotel had off us for a week breakfast was inedible so we didn’t partake and we couldn’t even drink a bottle of water by the pool without paying them even more money!!!! I will definitely return to Mykonos and I loved the Tourlos area but the hotel should definitely not of been charging what it was when so much building work was going on!!!…
Considering that this was the fifth year in Mykonos and everytime I booked a different hotel rated 1 or 2 stars, Olia hotel rated 3 stars was the worst experience. We booked a room with sea view, but they gave us a room with partial sea view (actually kitchen view), for sure not the one showed in the pics. We asked for a change but they told us that everything was not available ( we booked the room 5months ago). The day before our departure we asked for a free trasfer from the hotel to the airport (as stated on their website) but they told us the flight was too early for them and we should have called a taxi. The breakfast was ok, but for sure not 3stars hotel breakfast in Mykonos (no variety and quality not excellent). Pool closed at 8pm and you cannot even stay on the sunbeds after the closing. I will not recommend this hotel and for sure next time in Mykonos I will not come back.…
After 2 weeks Greek Island hopping we booked 2 nights at Olia hotel for a taste of Mykonos before our flight back to UK. We chose Olia primarily to fit our budget as most hotels are much pricier in the very prestigious Mykonos! The position right near the port where we disembarked our ferry was also important. The hotel is literally opposite the port, a 5 minute walk with cases straight to hotel. We were travelling as a family with 2 teenage kids so needed a large room. The room was right at the top of the hotel, many steps if you have mobility problems but that afforded amazing views over to the port and Mykonos with great sunsets. The room had a king-size bed, pull out settee and single with good sized bathroom, it was ideal for a couple of nights but a bit tired. The pool and outside area just lovely, very relaxing, can't hear busy road to port and very interesting watching the port activity with cruise ships etc. The sea ferry opposite takes you into mykonos, a 10 minute boat ride and the Cantina next door does great Gyros, with 2 well stocked supermarkets next door to that. We were greeted with a warm welcome and an informative guide to Mykonos, transfer to airport was also greatly received as not easy to organise in height of summer. Breakfast was also good, hot and cold options.…
A lovely hotel which we stayed at for 4 nights. It’s a bus ride or sea bus hop out of town, quite near to the ferry port. We were on a B&B board, which was very good. The owner gave us a lot of advice on where to go what to do and how to get there. A lovely hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mykonos
The room needs some work. The wall got some cracks. The window frame in the shower is broken and needs to be fixed. There are some molds in the shower. The employee yelled at me for bringing my food to the pool. He said we are not allowed to eat anywhere but in your room and breakfast room. I caught an employee who ate his sandwich in the reception. What a joke. Breakfast is not so great. They offered brownies, cakes, pie, watermelon, bread, cereal, cheese, tomatoes, processed ham, and yogurt. Why offer junk food for breakfasts beyond my incomprehensible. The employees are alright. Nothing special except the guy yelled at me in front of the people. Very disrespectful.
Stayed at this lovely hotel at the beginning of May. Travelled on the ferry from Santorini. They were there to pick us up and they took us back to the airport. Immaculately clean, lovely room, we had a superior room with a fantastic view of the Marina and all the cruise ships. Very helpful and informative staff. Would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We are staying at the Olia Hotel just outside of Mykonos town which is a small family run boutique hotel. It is beautiful. It is furnished to a very high standard with wonderful Greek touches throughout. The hotel is meticulously clean. The pool area has a very relaxing vibe with an infinity pool overlooking the Aegean and ambient music playing throughout the day. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. They are cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The food at the hotel is delicious. Breakfasts here have been plentiful. We have enjoyed having our lunches here with an ice cold mythos beer being attentively looked after by Alexandros. There are also a selection of meals to have in the evening if you didn’t want to leave the hotel. Georgios at front of house is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He will provide any information you need to know about the island. All the staff have been wonderful. The hotel is in a great position, close to the New Port to catch the sea bus into Mykonos Town. There are a couple of supermarkets very close by and Cantina next door serve amazing coffee and great Greek food. We have certainly found the jewel in the Aegean Sea staying at the Olia Hotel. We love it here and will definitely return. Highly recommended. …
Very hospitable. Lovely hotel close to the port. The view from our room was beautiful. We stayed one night on our way to Tinos. Aggeliki and Γιώργος were exceptional hosts. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and well spread out. I would definitely rebook at the Olia Hotel, especially for summer. The pool was too cold, even for this Alaskan.
We arrived by ferry after a very choppy crossing from Paros. Great location just across from the ferry terminal. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating especially as we arrived on an earlier ferry due to bad weather but we relaxed by the pool with a beer until our room was ready. Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold food. Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the sea and an even larger balcony at the side. I cant speak for the other rooms but ours was very tired looking especially the bathroom. The bed is perched on a ledge, which you have to access up a step which we found to be sharp and troublesome especially at night as you had to get down 2 steps to use the bathroom. Around that ledge they have lights which are poorly wired. I was always fearful of falling especially after having my 2nd hip repl 9 weeks previously. I'm sure had we addressed this issue with the management they would have changed our room. This was our 4th hotel after a busy 2weeks holiday and we didn't fancy packing and unpacking again ! The hotel grounds are well kept with lovely palm trees and shrubs, rooms are laid out in separate blocks. Although it is on a busy road we didn't hear much traffic noise at night, that came mainly from the wind! Needless to say there were some amazing sunsets and it kept us occupied for ages just watching the ferries and cruise ships come and go. Just across the road is the bus stop and a short walk to the marina to get the sea bus to Mykonos Town. There is a lovely pool there but this was the last couple of days of our holiday so we spent the days out and about visiting sites around the town and an afternoon trip to Delos island and island bus trip to Elia. Buses to other parts of the island run nearby, you can get there by using the sea bus There are a couple of restaurants near the hotel. Mathios a lovely traditional Greek Taverna, turn right out of the hotel, also immediate right are 2 small supermarkets selling a variety of things and a small cafe / takeaway where we had an great meal. In all a good location if you want to spend a couple of days looking around Mykonos and surrounding areas especially with its close proximity to the Port.…
