The unlimited ice-cream was a great bonus for our children!
We also found that the rooms with large bunk beds were ideal for families. The air-conditioning worked really well, and this was a welcome escape from the hot summer days. A special mention must be given to the staff in the restaurant and bar staff. They made us feel very welcome and worked well together as a team.

Hello, we were at the hotel from September 11 to September 23. Great holiday, I can only recommend. I read a lot of negative reviews here before leaving. We went with our two-year-old son. I was afraid to go. People here complained about the rooms, food, terrible beach, dirty dishes, not good food. We arrived and I have to say everything was great! The room is beautiful, the sea the first 2 days big waves, stones, then small waves, great for fooling around and you could go into the sea without shoes, it was gradual and sand. The staff was great for us, they took great care of us in the restaurant, they always seat you at the table, they treated the little one great! Nice service on the beach and at the pool. Drinks good, the selection was enough for me. The food could be chosen differently every day.. The hotel is not in the center, but on the side, so if you expect city traffic, go elsewhere. 2 mini markets and a restaurant, which we also visited even though we had all inclusive, were enough for us, because we went to relax. There are stairs, but you can get everywhere by elevator. I would return to the hotel again.

Very nice beach. Plenty of beautiful cabanas. You can order food which was yummy but the drinks were not. Overpriced and some of our drinks tasted like no alcohol was in them; we had to tell the waiter and he was very nice about it. The music is way too loud. I’m not sure I would consider this place good for very young kids. We brought our 3 year old with us. The water in the pool looked unclean at times. It’s a big place and was very crowded when we were there.

First of all not a 5 star , 3 at best , rooms dirty , not well maintained.we had a 2 bedroom family suit !! It was 1 room with a glass divider down the middle, and definitely not a suite, it’s so they can charge you €70 as soon as you turned up.Entertainment from animation team only in French not interested in any other language, and what I could tell worst animation team I’ve ever seen , 3 bars with only one bar staff who are very slow , always a long queue, Food same rubbish each night most of it was lukewarm at best , nothing like the pictures , In all a miss sold holiday for loveholidays . And a hotel that’s over charging for something they can’t deliver, but happy to take your money with nothing in return. To be honest the only positive about this hotel is the air conditioner in your room ( because the main hotel air con is off) was really good , and the 2 gentlemen that show to your table at meal time were brilliant, shame that’s it !!! Save your money and go somewhere else

Very nice location, our room was amazing, very comfortable and clean. Staff was helpful and polite, all safety measures were followed, antiseptics everywhere etc. Breakfast was perfect, the pool was spotless and they had a very nice garden.

Superb establishment, we had a great stay. The staff is very helpful, kind and smiling, it is a very nice hotel, clean, well organized. Their rooms have cockroahes, and they don’t even do anything about it. I just got the massage from the reception, that I could kill it myself. Then turned up another one, then another….how disgusting is that! At the end of our stay, we gave a live one back to the reception - since they like them. We Never Ever come back!

Great expectations not fulfilled Good- Nice hotel Nice pools Quiet due to covid
Bad Breakfast acceptable, lunch. Not worth bothering with Dinner. Prisoners would complain . Repetitive every night, over cooked slop ,rude restaurant manager , waiting on staff very young snd inexperienced. Only one other eatery close by . 20euro each way trip into the city. We got sandwiches, fruit and water in our room when we arrived in the middle of the night so that was really nice to just have something. But there’s no access to go get food at that time I don’t think.

With pleasure we give you all informations about Rethymno Mare Royal Hotel.
Our hotel provides new sun loungers for each guest and there is not at all a problem finding a space with them by the pool.
These are new wooden sun loungers with parasols and by the beach there are new metalic sun loungers also with parasols.
Beach towels are provided by the reception with 10 euro deposit per each.
By the beach and pool there is self service and by the evening bars and restaurants there is waiter service. Cocktails are on All Inclusive.
Regarding the wifi, it is free and available in the public areas of the hotel.
The hotel provides a pool table.

Although the hotel information says "no shorts" there were certainly plenty in evidence at dinner when we were there - I don't know if they would insist if you were dining inside, but there was plenty of room in the outside dining area anyway.
There are more places to choose from in the Skaleta area.
