Very clean hotel, kind and helpful staff and briliant food. Adult only - calm, no noise. Smart casual dress code for dinner in main area, lunch served in Mistral taverna closer to the beach (at least T-shirt is required). The beach is very clean, hotel is eco-oriented and participating in sea turtles protection - sandy with some bigger rocks (shoes not needed), nice vawes. There are also rooms with private pool (like 4x3m), which was a great idea and the water was a bit colder and thus more refreshing (recommended). The hotel is well maintained, air-condition working perfectly and silently. Whatever you need is just one word away.
Great experience, totally worth it. Looking forward to go there again.

11 days with family from 16 to 26/8/2023; honestly, it was almost perfect!
The +: . modern, quiet room, large bathroom with walk-in shower, quality main bedding and extra bed which is harder and a little too narrow, plenty of storage space . two swimming pools and easy beach access; deckchairs available at any time; great cleanliness of all these spaces. . friendly, competent, involved staff wherever the hotel is located. . true all inclusive with branded alcohols and sodas (coca cola, schweppes, Jim Beam bourbon, Red Label scotch, Absolut vodka, etc.), which is not always the case elsewhere. . quality catering, at all meals in the concept of buffet obviously. . once a week, a dinner is organized around the swimming pool and it is very successful!!!

We have just come back and what a lovely holiday we had. The staff are exceptional, the food menu is not large but the quality is 5*.
This hotel was so peaceful and quiet, we had the private pool room and there was no getting up early to claim your sunbeds as they had far more than needed even on the beach, so a stroll to the beach after breakfast to claim a sunbed was enough.
We have travelled abroad for many years and this hotel is definitely one of the most relaxing we have been to. We found this hotel as a peaceful retreat that is not massive and not noisy and we will be going back next year.

After the great experiences in 2022, we have booked this hotel again and this year we have once again had not only positive experiences. In terms of food, friendliness and cleanliness in the outdoor area, everything is of a very good standard. But unfortunately the negative things have not been eliminated either: As far as the cleanliness of the rooms is concerned, the Royal is at the lowest 3* level. In ten days, not even the dirty dishes were cleared from the room or the garden area, neither glass surfaces nor fittings were cleaned. This annoyed us in 2022 and seems to be a fundamental problem. Once again, we had to complain on the second day, which lasted exactly 24 hours. It is also noticeable that the staff in the main restaurant are constantly standing around and having loud private conversations in the presence of the guests, often across the outdoor area of the restaurant. This is very annoying and unpleasant. In the high season, the adult-only hotel was not at full capacity and the wait staff were then bored. There are always groups of three or more service staff, accompanied by loud conversations. You feel like you are under constant control, waiters stand around behind the guests. This also does not meet the 5-star standards. To make it clear again: a visit to this facility is worthwhile and totally relaxing if you take the above points into account. Five stars are given for the service, the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the pool, beach, sunbathing and general areas.

This establishment is perfect for rest and relaxation. Total disconnection guaranteed. If you are looking for a lively place this is not here. The advantage of this hotel is that it is only for adults, so no screaming or crying that wakes you up at 5 a.m.! The rooms are pleasant and well equipped. The staff is very attentive and you always have someone who speaks your language. Breakfast is an international buffet. It is very varied and above all very good. The same goes for the evening buffet. Every evening there is a themed buffet and even if you don't like it, there will always be something to eat. There are 2 swimming pools and direct access to the beach. A bus stop is located in front of the hotel and drops you off in the center of Rethymno.

Perfect location on the beach with wonderful sea views from your sun bed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming always on hand to help. The hotel never feels crowded even if it is busy. The two pools are small there’s enough room to swim lengths in or just cool down in which is all we needed. There are plenty of sun beds no sun bed wars here. There’s so many spread out over the gardens and the beach you can always find some. Bar service is good never had to wait long for a drink. Great selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. As a non drinker it can be monotonous in an AI here you have mock tails , soda water and decent coffee as well as the usual coke etc The food is excellent great selection every day all buffet which suits us. The desserts are fantastic. There was a bbq night around the pool on Thursday the effort made was incredible totally transformed the area. The food was all served buffet style outside and the staff were as attentive as always. There was entertainment on Sunday and Thursday a singer guitarist and a keyboard which were great. If you want a lively hotel with West End style entertainment this is most definitely not for you! If you want a quiet relaxing break in wonderful surroundings with a friendly laid back atmosphere this is for you. The majority of guests are German we saw no British here not sure if that would effect a holiday certainly wasn’t an issue for us. The garden room we stayed in was recently renovated and had everything you need. Our room was cleaned everyday to a high standard and I am fussy ! Minibar had 2 beers and some non alcoholic drinks didn’t really use it as drank in the bar. This isn’t the kind of place to come to if you want to drink loads and party you’d be very bored and frustrated!!!! We are booking again for next year.

We had in August 2024 a fantastic holiday at Creta Royal Hotel. We arrived in the middle of the night and were greeted with kindness and smiles. When we woke up the next morning, we unfortunately saw that our limited sea view was very limited, and we heard that we had the noise from the highway very close. That's why we went to the reception the next morning and said that we weren't quite satisfied with our room. With a smile and no comments, an employee was called, and shortly afterwards we were directed to another room with beautiful views and no noise. We couldn't wish for a better Ranking. It was incredibly nice service from the hotel side. The same service, welcoming, smiling and kindness we experienced everywhere. In the restaurant the service was very nice and the food incredibly varied and delicious, in the bars were beverages served with smiles, the cleaning was good and the staff friendly everywhere. The hotel was very clean and welcoming, the rooms recently renovated and the outdoors beautiful and well-maintained. Going for a walk in the area was an experience. Flowers, bushes and trees formed a very beautiful environment around the hotel, which was lovely right down to the sea. There was plenty of room for all guests both outside and inside, we felt so welcome and distracted and could not wish us a better setting for a lovely holiday. We would love to come back to Creta Royal Hotel.

I know this is a bit late but... My wife and I stayed here at end of September 2023 and had a fabulous holiday. Staff and management cannot do enough for you and everyone is extremely polite and helpful. Food is wonderful with always a good selection including authentic Greek food every evening, and lunch is a delight, looking out over the beach and ocean. Service in both the restaurant and bar is excellent and all of the staff work very hard to keep guests happy. If I could make just one suggestion/request though: please can you serve beer in larger glasses (half pint would be fine) as any beer drinker will tell you, the smaller the glass the faster you drink! That said, it's a small quibble! Wine, however, is always served in more than adequate portions and it's decent wine too!
Guests seemed be mainly German with a smattering of Brits and one or two French. Everyone, however, (and I mean EVERYONE), was polite, well-behaved and friendly and it made for a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
We very VERY rarely go back to an hotel more than once but we are making an exception this time: we shall be returning again in September and we are already looking forward to it (my wife is booking this evening in fact!).

Excellent stay at this hotel this summer; we stayed 10 nights. Our room was renovated and quite modern. The 2 swimming pools were very clean and with a temperature of 32 degrees it was real comfort. On the catering side, nothing to complain about except that everything was perfect as well as the breakfast side with REAL orange juice at no extra cost and that is worth mentioning. Once a week dinner is served around the swimming pool; an unforgettable moment. An orchestra plays music a few evenings during the week but in a cozy atmosphere and not intrusive at all. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere that reigns in this beautiful place. The staff takes great care of its customers and is very friendly, whether at the pool bar, the indoor bar, the 2 restaurants as well as at reception where we had 2 ladies who spoke French very well. A big thank you to this entire team who made our stay idyllic and maybe see you next year!!!
