Not a bad place to stay even for a few days, especially when it's a low season and not a lot people around. Room a clean and relatively well designed. Rich continental style breakfast in the mornings. Not far from a Chania airport and just a few minutes walk to a sandy beach. Most units have a harden view only.
Only stayed a couple of nights but it was perfect. Wonderful location near the beach. We had a studio with wonderful views of the sea and garden. The rooms are spacious , very clean with a modern decor. Everything is supplied for you should you want to cook. We chose to use the local restaurant nearby. Mimi welcomed us at reception, she is very friendly, efficient and has a very bubbly personality. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We had a buffet style breakfast, lots of different choices from hot and cold food. You can also have light snacks from the pool area during the day and the prices are very reasonable. Just a 2 minute walk to one of the best beaches . This place is worth going to. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Mimi for all that you did for us.
Excellent service, clean very friendly staff. Katerina and Mimi are fabulous. I would recommend this delightful hotel. You don’t need a car but on reflection I should have hired one. Only 25 euro taxi from Chania airport.
We have just returned from two weeks at Alianthos Suites and had a wonderful time. We arrived relatively late, about 9pm, but nothing was too much trouble for the lovely Katerina who checked us in while also working the bar, and then made us a delicious pizza. The location is simply stunning, and from our two-bedroom apartment (for two adults, so more than comfortable) we had the most fantastic views of sea, mountains and glorious sunsets. We hired a car, and would definitely recommend this as there's so much to explore in the area. Chania is a short drive and is great for a visit, and to have a wider choice of places to eat. Having said that, there are a few reasonable tavernas close by and on one evening Katerina phoned the owner of one of these, Bahar, to come and fetch us so we could have a few drinks. The beach at Tersanas is very small, and the sunbeds are a little pricey for the area - in most other places we paid 6 euros, whereas here they were 8 euros, which seemed a bit steep. The water is lovely, though - very calm and shallow. We also liked the beach at Marathi, on the other side of the Akrotiri Peninsula, which doesn't take long to get to, has bigger beaches and a few tavernas. Both Katerina and Mimi were excellent hosts, always smiling and happy to help, even when overstretched. Overall we had a fantastic time on our first visit to Crete and would definitely recommend Alianthos Suites to anyone looking for a quiet break in a relaxed location.…
We stayed for a week with our family. It is a small resort. We had a terrific time. It was safe and compact for the kids. They constantly played in the pool and when it was not too hot had a few games of tennis in a beautiful court overlooking the sea. Our 2 bed apt was spacious with very good AC. We had a lovely outdoor area also. The rooms were cleaned every morning to a very high standard by the lovely Rita and Popi who were always pleasant. The breakfast was very good. Always fresh and plenty of variety. As a mother of a child with an egg allergy it was very clean and well maintained. It is a short walk from Teresanas beach which is also very safe for our kids. However the highlight of our trip was the wonderful Mimi and Katerina. We have never experienced such happy hospitality on a holiday. They were both so genuine and loving to our kids and us. Nothing was a problem constantly helping us throughout the week, advising us and happy to chat away. We usually go to a different location every year on holiday but as a family we have discussed returning to the Alianthos suites next year. It is a haven in Crete.…
We stayed for a week in one of the 4 two-bedroom apartments. There are also a few studios and some half a dozen 1 bedroom apartments. The accommodation is spacious, simple, bright and clean with comfortable beds and adequate kitchen facilities, although a coffee maker would have been very useful and salt, pepper and oil. Each apartment has an outside sitting area, most with nice views. The pool is lovely wih padded sunbeds and parasols. Breakfast is served by the pool and, apart from the coffee, was very good indeed. Alianthos is very laid back and relaxing. The sandy beach is some 400 mtrs away - shallow water and a snack bar. There is an excellent taverna by the sea front. Apart from that you will need a car to shop at Horafakia, visit tavernas and restaurants and explore the peninsula and further afield although there is a bus to Chania. The main entertainment when we were there was the delightful antics of 4 kittens guarded by their mother. I really hope they get fed when Alianthos closes this month and that they survive the Winter. Other guests were concerned about their welfare too. This was our second stay at Alianthos and we would certainly go back again. Chania and Aptera are not far and there is so much to see in Crete if you have the energy to leave Alianthos.…
Beautiful hotel with several self catering apartments with breakfast available at the bar. The staff is very nice and helpful and the premises very clean. Beautiful view, direct access to the sea, below the rocks, after a small walk. Nice swimming pool although not heated, but it s not a problem in hot weather. The gardens are very flowery and well taken care off. We will come back. Children had plenty of space to play without annoying anybody.
Me, my husband and our two kids (aged 2.5 and 1) stayed at Alianthos for 5 nights, and it was such a wonderful time! The hotel is perfect for families and the location is ideal for getting around. The nearby beach is beautiful, with good sand and shallow waters - perfect for younger children as I have. The food and restaurants close by were lovely and reasonably priced, as was the food at the hotel. The breakfast was good and decent variety of foods. The pork souvlaki we had for dinner a few times was a generous portion and so delicious! As was the feta salad and our kids loved the spaghetti bolognese too. The Alianthos staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the manager was lovely to us the one time we met her at the property. Eleni and Grigoria who run the restaurant and front desk daily are lovely and welcoming! We initially had trouble with our credit card and the staff and manager were very understanding and didn’t give us a hard time at all - great customer service! Our room was kept quite clean throughout our stay although the water used to mop the floors had an odd smell on a couple of days. That was a minor thing compared to everything else that’s so lovely about this hotel. Our 1 bed apartment was spacious and had all we needed. We had a lovely side sea view and it was not on a high floor which was convenient for us with our kids’ buggy. The pool was excellent and kept clean and well maintained. WiFi wasn’t great in the room at times but better by the pool. Again this is a minor thing. As it wasn’t a busy time of July for visiting we always managed to secure chairs by the pool. Proximity to Chania town about half an hour by bus, not too bad as we didn’t rent a car. Worth the trip because Chania is gorgeous and the harbour must see! Balos beach and Gramvousa were also worth the trip, with stunning blue waters and lovely views! I would definitely stay at Alianthos again, especially as the staff were so kind to my 2 young kids! Thank you Alianthos, you were so good to me and my family!…
We enjoy our stay. Nice og helpfull personal. We enjoyed takling with the two Ladies working in the bar. Thanks for a comfortable stay. Housekeeping cleaning was perfect. There was about 12 km to Chania. It took about 20 minuts to go there by car. Very quiet place great pool. Good familyhotel. Two beaches near the apartments. We loved the evening at the place.
This is a very nice place, quiet and clean, with a very nice garden and pool area. Breakfast is served there in the morning, a nice variety of bread, cheese, sausage, eggs, sweet cakes, jam, honey, fesh fuit etc., and quite good coffee, every morning we got freshly made orange juice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartment was cleaned every day. A good location for a day trip to Chania, for outings to Stavros and the two nearby monasteries.
