Like the name implies, it is more like a hotel than a quaint lodge. Among all the places we stayed on the Transpantaneira, this was the most plush, and I gather most expensive although we were there for two nights as part of a package with Pantanal Expeditions. They grow their own fresh vegetables on the premises, and the salads...

Yes, the other reviews are spot on. Best place to see Jaguar, Food is good and plentiful, beds are comfortable but rooms are pretty sparse (only chairs are outside your room). Wifi worked in the rooms but you get one code per device. We stayed here as part of a tour we booked with Julinho at Pantanal Trackers so I...

: Porto Jofre Hotel. Day 7: Saturday, 24th September 2016 Jaguar River Safari After breakfast at approximately 08:00 we enjoyed a full day river safari (approximately 8 hours) on the Cuiabá River in search of jaguars. We saw two during our stay, what a great experience, and not to be missed. (Highlight of the holiday) Overnight: Porto Jofre Hotel –...

We found Hotel Pantanal Norte a utilitarian, clean comfortable hotel that served plentiful well cooked food. The place is used by fishermen and those people who wish to see a jaguar, which was the purpose of our visit. For jaguar viewing boats go out at 6.30 in the morning for around 5 hours and again in the afternoon for around...

The Lodge is very big and vistors are coming for two reasons: Fishing and Jaguar Sighting. The rooms were clean and basic. We had to stay in a room which was actually reserved for guides because the Lodge was overbooked. We came to see Jaguars and so the room was not an issue because we wanted to use it for...

OK, we were advised that the hotel was basic and that proved to be true as the rooms are very spartan and if anything feel like the cheap motel rooms you get in the US. Having said that, we went knowing this but did so willing given its location offers a great ( perhaps best) opportunity to see Jaguars. It...

Booking - Initially I contacted them a year in advance, they said they are full, then said have rooms but not good one, then did not reply for months. But then previous guy left and Sandra replied very promptly to all the mails. It was ease dealing with her for all the booking and questions. Check In - Roger is...

This is a beautiful lodge right on the river with excellent chances of seeing jaguar from the river. We saw one swim right in front of our boat. You won't need an alarm clock as the Hyacinth Macaws will do the job for you. Where else can you sit on a veranda with this lovely birds just above your head....

It is quite a trek down to the bottom of the transpantaneira but well worth it. The hotel itself lacks character but people don't go there for the hotel they go to fish or to spot Jaguars on the surrounding rivers. We were very lucky and had 5 sightings on our first day and 2 on the second. We also...

The reason to come here is definitely to see Jaguars and other wildlife. The rooms are ok but that is all, they could do with refreshing as they look a little tired and grubby. They are cleaned every day and you are given fresh towels wrapped in plastic. The food is very good and plentiful but as mentioned before no...
