I have stayed here recently with my wife as part of the photo tour. Place is right on the river, basic yet comfortable. Clean and adequately appointed. Food was tasty without particular highlights, however it could be kept warm as sometimes dishes were cold. Nice fruits and veggies. Friendly staff, fully responsive to our needs. Boat rides were interesting and...

We met our guide at the Cuiaba airport and were driven to the Southwild Fazenda Santa Teresa Lodge for a 2-night stay. We stayed at the lodge again for one night on our way back to Cuiaba, after a 4-night stay at the flotel. We were in this part of the Pantanal for one week. As other reviewers say, the...

We stayed here our first night and last night of the Jaguar Extreme tour we booked through Brazil Nature Tours on our way to and from four nights at the original flotel. The lengthy ride from Cuiaba was an eye-opener in terms of wildlife and birds. The lodge does have a large sign that says SouthWild, but apparently is also...

Starting with the positive side : The rooms are nice, large with good beds. Restaurant is ok in an open space that could be chilly but in contact with nature Nice river with wild animals everywhere. Very convenient to observe birds. But ... The actual place is called Santa Tereza and not SouthWild (which is the name of the company)....

My visit to this lodge was extremely rewarding. The staff was attentive and courteous. The rooms were basic, but had all the amenities required and were clean (as was the lodge in general.) The local birds and wildlife are more than expected. Although for much of the visit, the weather was not the best, our guide, Ding Dong, who spoke...

We stayed here for three nights and had a great time seeing the wildlife around the lodge. Along the river there are many birds in close proximity, also river otters and we saw two Ocelots from the hide. Shame there was loads of mosquitoes and the heat was almost unbearable. There are two jabiru storks nest withing the grounds, we...

We were traveling with Roy Toft's photo group July/August 2016, and we stayed here at Southwild for 2 nights prior to the Jaguar Flotel and for 2 nights afterwards. It was the perfect place to gear up for our time photographing jaguars and the perfect place to wind down afterwards. We were greeted after a 3 hour drive with a...

We recently returned from Brazil's Pantanal and a stay at SouthWild's two properties, Santa Teresa and the Jaguar Flotel. We booked our trip through Jeff Parker's Explore In Focus and are very glad we did. The entire experience was nothing less than incredible. From our perspective, the accommodations at both sites were exceptional. The rooms were spotless and clean, the...
