I cannot recommend this place enough. George and his wife Sofia are fabulous hosts. And as for the bar staff, young Goerge Could teach a lot of bar staff manners as he was fantastic. This little gem has one of the most Fantastic views of the Bay by day and night. The sunsets are unbelievable and also the moon on the water at night makes takes your breath away you really feel like you’re in a movie set We will definitely be back
Really wonderful place above Agios Gordios beach. Fantastic view on the bay and sunset from the pool or the room terrace. Rooms equipped with kitchen, cleaned good, towels and sheets changed every 2 days. A little bathroom. I really hate the shower certain. Iwould rate with 5 if there wasn't a breakfast wicj was served every day the same. Not even a tiny change.
Friendly hosts Giorgios and Sofia. Apartments have a good location, nice pool with bar and great panoramic sea views, nice rooms with balconies and great panoramic sea views. Slightly outdated bathroom
We booked two nights, to have the option to see other areas of the island, but a day later we decided to stay the whole week. the ocean view is simply spectacular, and the best point to see the sunsets from the private terrace. the super comfortable bed, separate living room and equipped kitchen made us feel in a hidden paradise.
Recently returned from a two week stay at Lido Sofia, absolutely fabulous. As others have stated it sits at the top of a steepish hill on return from the beach and restaurants, but if you can live with that the views from the pool and room balconies is stunning. Despite the current crisis, the rooms were spotlessly clean while everything you really need is in the apartments (tea towel, washing up liquid, scourer, good supply of crockery and cutlery etc.) Sadly the pool bar was closed for the season but no doubt itwill be back up and running soon. There's not lot more to say other than if you're going to Agios Gordios and don't mind a hill walk then book it.
Amazing place owned by an amazing person.. Mid covid.. The apartments are spotless.. All the staff are so nice.. We have a two be apartment..it has a large extremely comfortable double bed. The second bedroom has two comy singles and a sofa bed in a really very large room.. Both bedrooms have full width sliding doors which open up onto a fabulous large balcony.. Behind the bedrooms is an ample kitchen with a small table.. But obviously any dining takes place on the balcony... Off this room is the shared bathroom.. We are currently in room 26 which is at the end of an open walkway and has an additional table and chairs overlooking the road and hill side of the property.. We have also found that we can get a WiFi reception in the apartment.. The walk back up the hill really is not that bad.. And well worth the effort for the spectacular views.. The pool area is spotless... Again allowing the amazing views.. At the mo due to government restrictions all complexes in the area are not allowed to have the pool bar open.. We will deffinatley be coming back to lido sofia to enjoy the area post covid.. Thank you Gabrielle.. And best wishes to all the small businesses in the area effected by covid... …
We chose the Sofia as it was fairly cheap and seemed like it had all sea facing rooms so would have a good view from the balcony. The view was indeed good, although there was another building just down the hill that obscured some of the view if you were on the first two floors and in the rooms to the right, as you look from the road. To be honest it was still a great view of Agios and most of the beach though. The room we had was ok, clean and well laid out with all the basic kitchen equipment. The shower and bathroom were small but again clean and not too "tired" like you sometimes get. The only criticism really was the beds and pillows - both were too firm. We both like a firm mattress but these were so firm as to cause some ache's and stiffness in the mornings. Plus, if you usually have two pillows, ask for them before you get there if you are arriving late/overnight. The pool area was great and again, great sea and resort views. I would echo another review comment though and suggest a shower and toilet would be good additions. Those views inevitably come at a cost. The Sofia is virtually the last place up the hill so you will certainly get some exercise doing "the climb" twice a day! All said and done, we would still recommend the Sofia as you get what you pay for and there were no deal breakers as far as we were concerned. Oh, and Katerina and Gabriel were fantastic hosts, always helpful and friendly. They supplied their mobile numbers so we could use WhatsApp to let them know if we needed anything etc. as they were not on site 24 hours a day. Plus, you could "book" or cancel the maid via WhatsApp, i.e. she was normally was on site Monday/Wednesday/Friday - due to COVID you had to ensure you had vacated the room for the day from 10am.…
One of the best balcony views I have ever had. I didn’t even have to get out of bed to see the beautiful coastline of Agios Gordios. Breakfast on the balcony and sunset cocktails were just a dream. Stayed in a gorgeous twin studio with great little kitchen and a lovely shower room. Another reason to stay here is the brilliant pool. One of my favourites in Agios Gordios. I could easily stay in it all day (and frequently have). Gabriel and his family are some of the kindest on the island and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. They also make a great Club Sandwich (when the pool bar is open). The apartments are a fair bit up the steep hill, but believe me the view is worth the walk (and the excercise will burn off a few Mythos - lol). There is a great supermarket directly across the road too run by the lovely Spiros who is always a pleasure to chat to. Can’t recommend Lido Sofia enough and so glad we stayed there this year as we have made some really great friends that we met by the pool. Thanks again Gabriel and look forward to seeing you guys next year. Xxx…
Clean, great view, great location for us, the pool is very clean, the room was comfy, supermarket right in front, parking is easy, beaches close by, we loved it! I just think that there should be an outdoor shower and toilet facility for the pool
The location is halfway up the hill from the town and so there is a little walk to the town. Being higher up you have a beauty view over the town and beach. I had a south facing room and so we had the sunrises every day. The rooms were self catering as I didn't want to be tied down to this location and hired a car to explore Corfu. You can travel by cab to and from airport, I think there is a bus, but I had hired a car.
