Run by a nice family and friendly staff, always willing to help you and meet your needs that will allow you to relax and enjoy this wonderful and quiet place. It has large rooms equipped with shower, TV, refrigerator, hairdryer, safe, large beds and terrace, from which you will enjoy the scenery and visits to the huge pool where you can sunbathe in the hammocks and tables. The breakfast buffet served in the dining room you can choose from a wide variety of bread, cereals, fruits, cheeses, sponge cake, juice and coffees. You can also go right in front of the Caldera View Café where you can eat, dine, have a cocktail admiring some beautiful views and also make you 20% discount for staying. Special mention to the magical framing where you will enjoy the best sunset of all Santorini. Also in front you have the bus stop, but if you prefer at reception they will facilitate the rental of a car or motorbike and so you can go to your own devices. It's not expensive and it's worth it. My friends, thank you very much for your hospitality. Best regards. David Sáez.

We got off to a great start in Caldera View. Family of 2+2 teen girls. We arrived close to midnight having had 2 flight delays from Italy. Tired, hungry and a little grumpy! With the restaurant closed Panos (one of the brothers who own the hotel and restaurant/bar) actually drove us up to the local bakery and waited for us to grab some food before driving us back again. We grabbed a few beers from the fridge at reception and our pastries and sat by the pool to chill for a while and the world was good again. Our room was a two room configuration over two stories. Plenty of space and two balconies. The AC was very effective in both rooms and always got to work very fast. The rooms were cleaned spotlessly each day with clean towels daily. Its a 3 star hotel so must be accepted as that and expectaions should be based on that. It is typical of Greek holiday resort rooms so don't expect deep pile carpet and soft furnishings. Some of the chairs outside the rooms are a bit older than the pictures and the curtains were a bit ragged. But not something we would moan about. The rooms have safety deposit boxes. The pool is a fine big size and as its a quiet resort there were always plenty of sun beds available with lots of shade around the pool. Breakfast is served on site with the bar and restaurant across the road connected to the hotel. Discounts apply to guests and we had no probalem having the discounts applied. The bar/restaurant has stunning views and that maybe accounts for slightly higher prices than expected for an out of the way eatery. Staff there were lovely. The staff in the hotel itself were most helpful and pleasant. We got plenty of local info and help about beaches and buses etc. Reception arranged a transfer to the port for us for the ferry and it was a mini bus. There is a bus stop right outside the door for a bus to Fira and also the other way to Akrotiri . A 10 minute walk up the road brings you to a bus stop for the beaches. Also at the same cross roads you will find the bakery and a few further metres is a supermarket. The road is fine to walk in daylight. The last bus back from Fira is early enough and a cab after that costs €25 I've noticed a few recent negative reviews of this property that seem to be quite intense. Reviews are by nature personal and based on personal attitudes, tolerances, expectations, experience and sometimes an overall outlook on life. Caldera View is a 3 star hotel not trying to pretend its anything more. We are a family that travels as a passion and we'd be fussy enough but tolerant. However if we come across dirty properties or rudeness we'll react very negaitvely. Neither is relevant here - the property was very clean, as were the rooms and any member of staff from management onwards were nothing but friendly, helpful and courteous. Sure there are some requests/rules about not leaving AC on (common sense) and towels. Anyway as a family we enjoyed our stay and I'd be happy to recomemnd it to friends.

Dear Mr. Alan Thank you for your time and for your review. Thank you very much for your nice words about our Hotel, staff, the rooms etc. I am very happy you enjoyed your stay here with us. Its true we are a 3 stars Hotel and we do not advertise anything more than that. We always try to resolve any issue our Guests have and we try to make their stay here on the island as easy as possible. Of course the attitude of the Guests is important. Some are not like you and like most of our Guests, kind and smiling. Some are coming in the Reception with the worse behavior demanding any kind of things even if we are not able to provide. And still we try to do our best. Thank you again for your nice words. We hope to see you again. Best Regards Panos Sigalas

Life had been hectic so made the crazy decision to go to SANTORINI FOR 2 nights. I wanted somewhere tranquil just to chill.. Gosh did I find it..yes I did! Firstly at the moment if you are looking for luxury rooms then this isn't for you. Having said that if it was luxury the price would not be so affordable. If you want the following then this is the place to book! As one arrives a smiling Maria greets you..such a smile and friendly demeanour is a plus after a tiring journey. She offered to take my luggage another real plus! What strikes you from the moment you arrive outside is the charming exterior with flowers everywhere. Once inside one notices behind reception they have a small library of books to borrow for that holiday reading. Then as you are shown to your room WOW THAT INFINITY SWIMMING POOL!!!!! It's simply the best. Most of the rooms are up a few steps and are surrounding this magnificent pool. The rooms are very clean and so was all the bed linen. Toiletries, hair dryer supplied. Good size TV just in case you wish to watch with a few English speaking channels. Simplicity just what I needed comfortable bed with small seating area outside. Breakfast again no frills Greek style buffet. Opposite there is a restaurant also owned by the family . With a view to imagine in your wildest dreams..one of the best views in the world where you can sip your cocktail and watch the truly amazing sunsets. I eat the local fish which was lovely Alex another brother runs the place and what a great job he does! I travel extensively and I will be going back here for peace and quiet. I went on an amazing boat trip..see my other review.. I didn't have time to go into the town but briefly saw very quaint restaurants and shops. The island has majestic volcanic rock which shows the interesting striations of different colours. It is very hilly a fact that attracts many walkers to this island. Also I noticed many interesting art and craft shops. I would imagine many creative people have made Santorini their home. Taxi back to the airport takes around twenty minutes and costs 30 euros. Beware at the time of writing the authorities are having to rebuild the airport to a much bigger site due to the increasing number of tourists. Don't get to the airport too early for your return flight or if you do I suggest, after checking in,you sit outside and have a drink. Inside is very chaotic and crowded and you want to spend as little time as possible in there. For older people this could be a stressful situation. When the new airport is finished I am sure this problem will not exist. So to round up please visit this charming little piece of paradise you will not be disappointed. Thank you again to the lovely gentleman who first bought this site years ago and built here. He is the father of Alex (Who runs the restaurant with the views) and The lovely Panos who runs the hotel..oh good luck to your sister and forthcoming baby!! Then Maria for your welcome demeanour and smiles. And of course not forgetting the lovely Oraia. I wish this hotel longevity and the family success for many years! See you soon!!

This is a great hotel if you wish to be away from the hustle and bustle of Fira, however close to the red beach, perivolos, perissa, megalochori and akrotiri. Transport was available via bus outside the door, however we recommend hiring a car. They can arrange for a hire car to be delivered to the hotel for you, just ask Panos reception. They have a bar and restaurant which was a two minute walk from our room, and had the most amazing sunset views (best photos ever and without the crowd!). Not to mention, one of the best cabonara's I have ever eaten. Breakfast was included and was simple, but delicious greek style food and was always a great start to my day. It is a family run hotel who take care of their customers, staff and property. No request is to much and they are always happy to offer advice and suggestions about things to do and places to go on the island. Lastly the pool was a wonderful, refreshing place to come home to at the end of a long day taking in the sights and scenes. Panos, Alex and Maire were great to get to know and made my stay that much more enjoyable. I look forward to coming back and staying with them again.

Best holidays ever! My husband and I stayed for over a week to Caldera View and we loved it! When we arrived we were welcomed from Panos at the reception ,who is actually one of the owners. He explained everything to us with every detail for our staying and also suggested lots of activities to do during our stay. When we walked into the resort he even offered to curry our luggages while showing us around the resort. Beautiful stone paths around a lovely swimming pool which was one of the biggest in the island and the best view ever of the Caldera! All rooms had view of the pool and/or the Sea. Our room was superb , very clean , with daily service from the attentive and very friendly housekeeping staff! Breakfast is served daily with lots of options for every taste on a beautiful dining area build entire out of stone! With huge windows that allows your eyes to stare at the magnificent view of the Caldera. We really felt that we were having holidays with the family. The service and the food at the restaurant which is across the street was superb and always in the budget! Enjoy a cocktail while waiting for the Magic sunset over Caldera without the noise and traffic that you'll find in Oia. Panos, Alexandros and the rest of the crew made our stay enjoyable and memorable, we highly recommend Caldera View Bungalow Resort to everyone that is visiting Santorini. Panos and Alexandros thank you for your hospitality and we will definitely call again when in Greece! Keep up the good work!
