Beware that Vedema has refused to refund our deposit for a trip that was scheduled to occur during the summer of 2020 during the COVID shutdown. We were required to pay for our entire stay in advance of travel but the deposit was supposed to be fully refundable. After the COVID shutdown, we requested a refund through our travel agent, who was told that we would have to wait 18 months for a refund based upon a RETROACTIVE application of a law passed in Greece. In other words, they refused to honor their own refund policy based on a law passed AFTER we booked. Interestingly enough, we had another hotel reservation on Mykonos for the same trip where that hotel helpfully decided not to run our credit card because of the COVID situation. We think people should be aware of what Vedema did and factor that information in when deciding on places to stay.…
Where to start with this incredible resort! From start to finish, the staff at Vedema was top notch. All the little things from remembering our drink orders by the pool to going out of their way to deliver room service before the kitchen opened so we could go on our hike from Fira to Oia. Speaking of, it is SO much better to stay at Vedema as your home base. It is beautiful to visit Fira and Oia, but both are overrun with day tourists crowding the narrow streets. It was so nice to return to the quaint village after visiting Oia. And the free shuttle to Persia beach is the cherry on top. 5 stars all the way!
My friend and I were traveling Greece as a part of a business trip and realized we had access to this amazing resort. It is absolutely beautiful and the staff was so accommodating. We were enjoying the beautiful pool when I walked out onto the flat surface that lies just beneath the layout area which allows you to then transition into the deeper part of the pool and my feet flipped out from under me! It was terrifying as I thought I’d really broken something. Both ankles and 3 toes got extremely bruised and I limped the rest of my trip (3 days). While they offered to put ice on the injury, I really wish they’d just fix that area for future guests. Or at least out up a sign that discourages you from stepping into that area. As I laid in pain, others around us said they’d seen others either slip or also fall. This is just a dangerous thing to potentially seriously injure someone. I know it made for an uncomfortable time for me the rest of my visit. Other than this, it was a nice place.…
Most of my stays with luxury collection hotels have been pleasant. This one is no exception. Hotel rooms, services, facilities are all in place, very convenient for dining, but unfortunately it’s not at the beach.
The Hotel was at its best last summer . The staff are always very caring and helpful and the rooms are super comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bedding was particularly comfortable and made for wonderful nights sleep.
