    Perfect Getaway
We spent ten days in the gorgeous Stonehouse. With its unique style of rooms to the completely private courtyard with its own pool, everything was taken care of and nothing was too much trouble for the amazing Emy. Daily housekeeping with crisp high quality white sheets and soft fluffy towels to quality toiletries and fantastic coffee A vehicle is a must and after trying a buggy, quad and a moped we decided the quad was a winner as long as you’re sensible! Raki restaurant in the town square had amazing chicken skewers served by the gorgeous Pannis. And the best ice cream at Mr Scoops! There are no cooking facilities at the villa because of the age and history of the building and any smoke or steam wouldn’t help with the old wine cellars humidity! The family bakery at the top of the winding alley offers hot and cold take away food both tasty and considering the cost of food on the island, extremely inexpensive with the hot meal being only €5 The sunset cruise aboard The Rainbow organised with Emy the hotel hostess is a must, with open bar and tasty BBQ Was our most enjoyable day by far We would like to extend our thanks to Emy for making our holiday complete! Nothing is too much trouble and she literally knows everything you ask or finds an answer for you in five minutes. Thanks my lovely, you’re a superstar x

The Best Hotel for Luxury and Service
Located in the traditional village of Megalochori, the Ducato Wine Hotel is a real treasure in both elegance, luxury and service. Every villa has its own incredible courtyard and private pool and is within a short distance to the islands 18 wineries and famous Caldera. I received very good recommendations on restaurants and sightseeing trips from the staff. Overall a great experience and this will be my hotel of choice on Santorini.

Great stay at Ducato - the one bed villa was absolutely stunning and rustic. The pool was fantastic to lounge around in and the location was perfect to the lovely village of Megalochori Maria was excellent in providing any and all help - would definitely stay again!

We were in the 4 bedroom Villa with private hot tub. There was NO AIR CONDITIONER, no hot tub( they had a sauna) there was a standing fan and humidifiers in room due to smell. There were 4 round holes covered in the floor that dropped ~20’ into ground, so if you have children beware. The windows were open with no screens, and no Air conditioner. (Flies, bugs, cats made way in to the big windows) place was supposedly cleaned with dust everywhere. Fridge filthy. If coming with kids, rooms were separated outside of main room. Rooms upstairs were unbearable hot, but they gave you a 10” fan. Could not stay and needed to leave. Pictures are not what is depicted. The parking lot for ALL who come to the area is about 5 blocks away. The street that GPS takes to the villa is so tight that it is very difficult to drive down. GOOD LUCK if choosing this villa with a heat wave and a family with a car

Exceptional location. An oasis in the otherwise overcrowded island. We felt like we were part of an extended family amongst the locals who made us feel at home. If the purpose of your visit to Santorini is to be in the middle of everything with crowded stalls and restaurants catered for tourists, then this is not your cup of tea. You should go to Oia or Fira or Kamari. If you want a real Santorini experience with a touch of understated luxury, nothing can be better. We absolutely loved this hidden gem.

Upon arrival everything looked okay, a little rough but okay. The A/C is hot garbage (see pictures) but I was able to rig some magazines in the window to some what prevent the exhaust from the A/C from coming back in the room. This was okay until it came to taking a luke warm shower. Water doesn't stay hot. After 5 minute showers it's still warm enough to over power the A/C running hard for hours. The A/C exhaust vent feeds out an open window so bugs and mosquitoes are all over the hotel (see pictures of the blood splatter and dead carcasses all over the walls). Between the mosquitoes and the heat, we sweat all night and could not sleep. Theres also a big ass spider living in the chandelier over the bed. The "shower" or jacuzzi tub, what ever it is, was disgusting! It appears to have never been washed/scrubbed. The same can be said about the rest of the place. It's dirty, dusty and moldy in many places. The sink in the bathroom falls over when you try to turn it on. We reached out to our "handler" immediately regarding the issues because there is no front desk, but he was only able to offer a refund for our second night. He was somewhat helpful. The food offered at the Raki was limited underwelming. The overall concept is neat but the quality is terrible and creepy! Its old and run down and was an extremely painful experience! I would absolutely not recommend paying the money to stay here! The Vedema resort is 10 USD more but comes with everything you would expect from a quality hotel!

We arrived expecting to be staying in a quant vineyard. We were wrong. This place is not a vineyard. This place is very old in all the wrong ways. Air conditioning with a hose sticking out an open window. Pool is ice cold. You can hear every conversation, argument and foot steps on the cobblestones out of your window. Stairs are dangerously uneven and have potholes. You may hit your head on the roof if you are not careful. I want a full refund. You must push a button to heat up water for shower 15 minutes prior to your shower. The free breakfast is only available after 9 am. You are a 55 dollar cab ride over to the town center. There is nothing near you worth spending any time visiting. My opinion DO NOT STAY HERE. i want a refund refund refund. MISLEADING MISLEADING MISLEADING.

The Villa is far from what is advertised but n the pictures. The small town where it is located is nice and quiet. The problem is the rooms and villas. Pictures are quite deceitful and you know this usually is the case with hotels, but once you arrive the first thing is to find that A/C is a portable unit. This is very inconvenient since the exhaust pipe of the unit is also inside the room. So, any cold air is immediately heated by the exhaust. Hard to understand why would they use this type of equipment. It’s hotter in the room than outside. 2 of the rooms had to share a bathroom, something you don’t expect for this price tag. Wifi is very weak and low quality. Rooms have no safety deposit boxes. There is few power outlets and when asked for some adapters they didn’t have any. The restaurant that serves as kitchens is very slow and takes 45+ to serve breakfast. On the good side the Manager Apostolis tried his best to help and acomódate any requests, but still the experience was below par.

Sitting here by the pool on our last night and decided it would be a crime not to write a review about this place. Ducato and the town of Megalochori made our trip so wonderful. The Owner and the concierge really took care of us during our stay. They arranged all of our transfers and excursions. They checked in on us daily and the place was cleaned anytime we requested (some days we didn’t need them to). The town is so quaint and lovely we rarely left and even then we thought Megalochori was the best. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quieter experience in Greece. But if you do wish for something with ambience Raki is down the road and plenty a good time for a crew of 5 :)
