One big YES! Rooms: the hotel is not new, but rooms are taken care of well, everything is very clean. Food: 5 meals (breakfast - a rather French style, lunch and dinner, 2xbar snacks), different kinds of food, twice a week dinner takes place outside, by the pool. Mainly meat dishes, but vegetarians can easily appease their hunger. Animation: Animators do an amazing job here, they have so much to offer! During the day you can play beach volleyball, football, try darts, archery, water polo, petanque, dancing, etc. Every day there were evening shows: either a performance given by the animators (who dance and act amazingly!) or a competition/disco event. This was the best thing offered by the hotel. Site/surroundings: There are two pools and a very clean and long beach. Sometimes there was a problem with finding free sunbeds, especially by the pool. In front of the hotel, there is a supermarket (quite cheap, the only cheaper markets on Djerba are big Carrefours, where you can buy some food products characteristic of the region. It was really easy to get to all Djerba attractions (taking a taxi is the easiest and cheapest way, a ride to Midoun - 4 dinars, a trip to El Ghriba synagogue - Djerbahood in Erriadh - Houmt Souk (a driver will wait for you while you sightsee in the first two spots) - max. 30 dinars). Djerba is one of the best places I have seen in my entire life and thanks to the hotel and its staff, my holidays turned out to be possibly the best in my entire life.

My daughter Blanka and I spent 10 days at Al Jazeera in August 2019. We got a room some view overlooking the sea on the second floor. The hotel has got nice surrondings - palm trees, a lot of green. There are 2 swimmimg pools - the first where a group of wonderful animators can help you entertain in different ways and the second, calm where you can rest in peace. The rooms are quite spacious , at least the ones in the main building. The are cleaned every day. The food is good, you can always find something tasty for yourself. A lot of friut - watermelon, peaches, grapes and delicious pastry. You can also try some traditional, Tunisian food. By the way, the hotel staff organizes dinner outdoor near the pool which is also quite a nice attraction. The beach is just next to the hotel, no problems to find a free beachbeds. The sea - clean, warm, sometimes with hightides and lowtides. On the beach you can ride a dromader or a horse if you like. In the end I must mention one more thing or rather a person - the director of the hotel Mr Skander Yousfi. He is a wonderful supervisor who does not sit in the office but but is in touch with all guests eg in the restaurant, at the pool, in the reception making sure everyone is happy with their stay, I wish all hotels would have such a friendly, open and kind manager. I do recommend choosing the hotel Al Jazeera ;)))

The hotel is a good 3 star hotel itself, the point that is very nice is that it has 2 nice exterieur swimming pools and it is literally situated on the beach. The sea part (where you are allowed to swim) is not very deep and unfortunately this makes that the sea water is not clear. On windy days there was too much seaweed that it was just not pleasant to swim in the sea. The animation team and the variety of what they propose is very good and they are not too pushy with getting you to join, normally this is not something we tend to take part in, but we did try this time and bith my husband and I enjoyed it (zumba/stretching/aqua/beech volleybal/waterpolo and archery) The customers are mainly russians and french, to be able to have a chair by the pool you have to get up early and put your towel on the chair. We wanted to play tennis but this is not in the same vicinity - it is slightly outside and extremely old - but it did exist. We also tried the 1 day excursion to explore Djerba and this was excellent, a good way to get to know Djerba. For the meals - it is all inclusive - breakfast and especially the lunch were very good and varied, but the evening meal is not upto standard, they have to cater for too many people within 2 hours which means that you have the cue for a long time or eat the same that you did for lunch. Overall it was an ok break for 1 week, any longer would be difficult.

We've been there for holidays in June 2018. The place is ok, quite clean, with nice drinks. Although the beach bar tasted good and seemd fine, the dinner/breakfast wasn't so good, so mostly we've eaten fries with some pizza in the evenings. Everyopne from our trip got foodsick, my fiance even twice in one week! It's a shame, because although the resort seems fine as 3 star hotel, the food is really bad mostly. The evening activities were fine, but during the day the activity team wasn't so interested in our group. For us it was fine, as we wanted to chill out and not to be disturbed, but we didn't make any friends with them eather. There is a supermarket near byy the hotel, so it's ok to go out for some sweets as gifts etc. IMPORTANT: THERE IS NO MINI FRIDGE IN THE ROOM or Safe. I needed to keep my medicine in the bathroom in a cold water for a week! You can buy for some USD the place in the fridge that is in the reception, but i don't fine it comfortable at all. Same with safe. There is a money change possibility in the hotel.

Also many thanks to all staff in the kitchen. The Tunisian cuisine is very delicious. We enjoyed our holiday here so much in Al Jazira and we hope we come back soon. Best wishes to all of youu in Djerba. Lucy and Marky (sisters of the Czech Republik).
