This was our third visit to The Petra hotel which we consider home from home. The wonderful Petrula and Costas run this oasis to perfection with amazing service and precision management. Our suite as last year was perfect and spotlessly clean as are the facilities. The breakfast continues to be a real treat no overcrowded buffets here thank you 🙏 But what seals it for me is the warmth and tranquility of the hotel,the people and Grikos of course. Well, what can we say? A perfect experience from start to finish! Petra and Kostas are such wonderful hosts and could not do enough for us to make our stay more comfortable. Petra is a wonderful cook and we ate in so many times for that very reason; so much better than going out! Moussaka and meatballs an absolute must. And the chocolate cake….. words fail me! A big shout out to Eleni and her team for the exceptional service and local recommendations , together with the boys servicing the rooms twice a day. Thank you for a great and peaceful holiday; we know where to come when we next need luxury peace and quiet! Love to you all , Lynne and Clive x. .

We chose The Petra for our honeymoon and we could not be more satisfied with our choice for such a special occasion. We were fortunate to have been welcomed by the owners of the hotel who throughout our stay were constantly attentive and sincerely concerned for us and our enjoyment. The Petra offers the luxury facilities and service you would expect, yet with a homey touch that makes you feel like you’re staying at a Greek family home. The food offering is excellent with changing Greek specialties being offered everyday for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Food in general was exceptional with a variety of local and international options on the menu for all meals. The service is of high quality with sincere care for your enjoyment and wellbeing. We continuously got personalized recommendations of how we could best enjoy our time in Patmos. Similarly, the boutique nature of the hotel gives you a quiet and beautiful sanctuary in the middle of what can sometime be a busy island. The nice pool and pool area give an option for rest when you’re not feeling like going to the beach. The location, a few minutes away from the main area of Skala, allows for rest and quiet enjoyment. We will forever cherish our memories at The Petra and we will most definitely be coming back.…

This was one of the most memorable hotels we have ever stayed in for so many reasons. From the moment my husband, daughter and I arrived we were made to feel so welcome by Petra and Kostas and treated as extended members of their family! The breathtaking views, stunning property, five star service and amazing food were only some of the reasons The Petra will be a place we will return to again (and again!). Our accommodation was beautiful with so many wonderful touches that made our stay so special, for example our daughter is a coeliac so Petra had some special homemade gluten free cookies for her on arrival with homemade lemonade and some other treats for us. Breakfast was a feast of homemade breads, sweet cakes, fresh fruit, eggs any way you liked and always some traditional greek dishes which were mouthwatering (with delicious gluten free options included for my daughter). There were so many lovely local and traditional restaurants close to the hotel we were spoiled with choice, as well as a lovely stony beach a short walk from the hotel. It was only a short taxi ride to the port of Skala where there were so many beautiful shops, cafes, restaurants and sights to see. We also took an early morning hike from the hotel to Chora where we visited the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian and the Cave of the Apocalypse, which were declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO because of their significance in Christianity and the preservation of ancient religious ceremonies that occur on the island. This was a wonderful experience albeit a challenging climb. Some experiences cannot be captured in words but we were so sad to leave The Petra and return to Kos that if there had been any availability to extend our stay we would most certainly have stayed longer. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The entire Petra family and team are all five stars - warm, welcoming and super helpful! The “More Than A Stay” platform on their website made booking local restaurants and experiences very easy. The room was a great size and very comfortable. Lovely balcony. First, the owners and the staff try very hard to make you feel at home. Kudos to them for that. The pool deck has a gorgeous view, and you will want to spend a lot of time there. The location is good and bad. You are not near anything, so you don't hear any noise but if you want to go somewhere you need to take an 8-Euro taxi. The food was very good here. The room was a little tight, but it is Greece and not Texas.

It is true that Grikos is a peaceful hideaway with a variety of authentic tavernas and a couple of beaches within walking distance of our hotel. To truly appreciate all that Patmos has to offer, regardless of their base location, visitors typically move around the island, many times utilizing the professional local taxis. For visitors who wish to have greater independence and roam around the island, we’d suggest visiting our "More Than a Stay" section on our website for a car or scooter rental. Even though, as you noted, we are a boutique hotel in Europe and as such, we respect your view that the size of our rooms is not our most distinguishing feature, we are also certain that you would agree that our rooms are comfortable with all modern amenities (most especially some of our Suites that range from ~35 to ~50 square meters). Friends came to visit and stayed at the Petra, as they have once before a number of years ago. They enjoyed a suite with a lovely view to Grikos, and a private rear patio. Nice size bedroom and a large bathroom plus a decent sitting room. The owner is particularly hospitable. Living on Patmos I visited my friends to watch the State Funeral of Her Majesty the Queen and was made very welcome. Coffee was sent up - particularly good coffee - and a while later a light lunch (unordered) plus a bottle of wine was brought with the compliments of the house. A very generous and nice thing to do. I would recommend this hotel unreservedly.

İts our second visit to Patmos, the paradise, and the impeccable Petra Hotel. What drew us back here is we felt like we were leaving home on our first visit 3.5 years ago. The hotel is a dream like Patmos itself. Every place you look everything is done by owners in such beautiful and unique details. The views of Grikos bay from each room and pool side is superb. At night, the bay turns into a magical land for photography lovers. One of the best delightful breakfast which changes everyday for you to experience different gourmet taste. The stuff can not do enough for you. Magical place, magical hotel, magical stay snd fantastic management to make you feel relaxed and homely. The calm is total in this beautiful family run hotel.
