I had a seaview deluxe suite at the Aktis Suites hotel where I stayed for 9 days in August 2020. At over €650 a night I was expecting accommodation and service commensurate with what I was paying for. It was shockingly bad. To start with, in a COVID-19 era, I was expecting a level of cleanliness that would protect clients given the difficult circumstances we face. Instead, the hotel did not even measure up on basic cleanliness. Every time my room was cleaned, there was hair left in the room and frankly, it was quite disgusting. I train on a daily basis and do sit-ups and push-ups. I was shocked to see dust and dirt under the bed as if it had not been cleaned for weeks. Furthermore, other than disinfectant dispensers spread in various locations, looking as if they have not been cleaned for ages, there was no hand sanitisers on tables or in the rooms. Also, I never saw the sunbeds disinfected before new guests used them. Breakfast was an an incredibly disturbing experience. Other than the quality of the produce, which was consistently bad, the hotel used the excuse of the COVID-19 to ration to a minimum what was given. We were asked to fill a page stating what we want for breakfast. Our order was never delivered right over 9 days, the coffee consistently arrived 30 minutes after the food arrived, the water glass arrived twice tasting of eggs, and the fresh orange juice always arrived mixed with canned juice. When we complained, the manager shrugged often saying we were right. The location of the hotel with its own beach and friendly staff, if untrained and inefficient, are the only two things this hotel has going for it. It needs a total reshuffle of its management, with a team that knows what it means to manage a five-star hotel. It needs refurbishment of its rooms and proper functioning internet. At present, this hotel merits only three stars if it gets its hygiene up-to-standard. If not, it should be closed for endangering clients' lives.

Response from Dionysia Chatzinikola, Υπεύθυνος at Patmos Aktis Suites & Spa
Responded 1 week ago
Dear traveller, Good day. We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience and kind remarks. In response to your review please note that we make sure and we are very strict to apply all the meters and the protocols that are determined by the government. We disinfect very carefully the establishment and all of our staff wears a face mask, in order to be protected. Please note that we follow Health First protocol and everyone in Patmos Aktis team has attendented seminars regarding the meters that should be followed for this difficult new era, in case needed we can upload the necessary documents. Our priority was and always will be the safety of our travellers and as well our team's safety and health. Referring to the breakfast, we have an one use paper, as well described in the review, since we serve a la carte breakfast, for the safety of our guests; since buffet breakfast is very likely that the products come in contact with different people. Some of the products are a la minute therefore it is common to be a delay. Our hotel all this time had only received positive feedback regarding how precise we are by keeping the meters for the Covid-19 and a lot of people have mentioned that in our hotel feel safe. Please bear in mind that we have placed hand sanitizers all around the lobby, reception, bar, spa and restaurants area. Furthemore, kindly be aware that the management of the hotel has not been informed regarding your concerns. In case we were, please be sure that we could assist you in our best possible way. In conclusion, we do apologize that we did not meet your expectations, regarding the cleanliness or the maintenance of the rooms. Thank you once again for your feedback, which we take under consideration, in order to improve our services. Hope to welcome you in the future.

We spent 5 nights in this hotel in a room overlooking the swimming pool. We enjoyed the design of the room, the direct access to the swimming pool. As a client you have also direct access to the beach of the hotel which is good, and you’re walking distance from another beautiful beach (Petra beach). The breakfast is good quality overall and the staff is friendly. In our eyes the hotel is lacking some services/amenities for a 5* experience: - the room was very hot when we arrived (probably because it hadn’t been occupied in previous days) and we could not sleep because of the heat. - for the same reason probably, the room was very dusty the first day - room service/reception could be improved (we phoned reception for shower gel but it was not brought to our room) - overall breakfast service was a bit chaotic at times But overall we recommend this hotel is you stay in Patmos.

5 star hotel in a beautiful location. Situated right on the beach with it's own sunbeds and crystal clear sea. We got an upgrade due to it being our wedding anniversary. Our room overlooked the pool and was very spacious. Breakfast was very substantial offering cold meats/cheeses, fruits, cereal and a hot choice as well. There was also a very wide choice of bread and rolls to choose from

Situated in a beautiful bay at Grikos. Had a lovely large room with a private patio area leading directly to the pool though I suspect this might have been an upgrade due to it being our anniversary tour of the islands. Breakfast was an extensive array of hot and cold foods. More than enough to sustain you for the rest of the day. Comfortable sun beds with umbrellas, towels and cold water provided on the beach, which is only a few steps down from the hotel. Staff were friendly and polite and even replaced a drink free of charge that my wife knocked over in the outside bar area. Could I find fault? Well, the gym opening at 11am wasn’t much use for someone wanting exercise before breakfast and it was also closed in the evening. Also, our room was fairly close to one of the boilers. No noise problem but it did produce quite a bit of soot at the top of the chimney, which occasionally fell on the patio.

Patmos is a great destination, especially for of season visit and Patmos Aktis is a really 5 star hotel. Location is perfect, facilities and services are top. Highly recommended for a luxurious, relaxing stay. Do not lose a cruise to the small islands near Patmos. We preferred to go with the boat called Elpida and we made the right choise: although the weather conditions were not good, our captain was so professional that we enjoyed every moment
