There is no doubting that the Elivi is in a spectacular position with three beautiful beaches and a wonderful view from the breakfast terrace. But,as many of the previous reviews have identified, the management and service fall well below the standards one would expect from a hotel that professes to be 5 star. We had an unfortunate experience when we discovered when packing to leave that a bag of presents which we had bought in town had disappeared from our room, we assumed because the cleaner had mistakenly thought the bag was rubbish. When we asked the reception to look into it, they denied that this could possibly have happened and rather than expressing concern seemed determined to blame us. “Had we packed it without realising? Perhaps we had left it in a cafe or taxi in the way back from town?”, neither of which explanations was possible as we had already taken an item out of the bag in our room. The reception staff’s behaviour towards us verged on the offensive. We spoke to the General Manager who promised to look into it but we had no feedback until we prompted him some 3 days later. Although we were compensated, the general attitude of the management seemed to be that we were either to blame ourselves or were making the story up. Not really the way to treat guests who had spent over 10,000 euros at the hotel. I contacted the Managing Director to tell her of the situation and mention a number of other occasions when the service had fallen down (whilst also commenting positively about certain aspects). 3 weeks later I have had no acknowledgment or reply. Such a shame that a hotel with such amazing potential and some very good points fails to care properly for its most important assets - its guests.

Property's Favorite Review
My wife and I were on a 5-day vacation on 9/19 at the 5-star Hotel Alvio Skiatos in Greece. The hotel has 3 living areas and we stayed in the Elioi Axenia area, we preferred it for comfort and proximity to the dining room and privacy, as well as the first floor was an almost private pool and the room was excellent. Elevators to drop off to a stunning private beach of the hotel and the service provided at the excellent and excellent beach and almost free of charge. The level of service in all areas of the hotel was courteous, matter-of-fact, and the hotel staff seemed to be doing everything and beyond for the benefit of hotel guests. We are staying at the hotel only for breakfast and it should be noted that breakfast was rich and it was an everyday experience to have breakfast in such a good restaurant that its wonderful location at the most beautiful vantage point in the hotel area towards the sea, forest and island. It should also be noted that the problem of bees that was in the area was probably because we did not encounter bees. One drawback might be that the hotel is a 20 or 25 minute taxi ride away from the Old Town and this September, a couple in the taxi about 20 euros and 20 euros more back so you have to take the expense of course. We preferred to travel during the entire vacation with a lovely taxi driver named Hotus who actually helped us very much with guidance and helpful advice and was very kind. In the Old City there are good taverns, good restaurants and nice shops, especially in the evening lively and happy atmosphere. September weather was excellent and most of the time we were short and only in the evening with a light long. We would recommend Marianna Jewelry Store with the lovely Helena management, the store is in the center of the alleyways and shops in the Old City And we would also recommend the Kosciax Grill House close to a jewelry store, a restaurant with great food, good service and an inexpensive price. Mobile Hutus Ceremonies: 30 6977741581 Mobile Helena: 6984 336 655 In any case and despite the hotel's proximity to the Old City, its benefits and the level of service and all the good things we went through at the hotel, made us realize and see where there is no such hotel in Sciatus and will do everything to come back to the hotel again.

We really enjoyed our visit to Elivi and for a few small issues would be providing five star review. The hotel is located at the far end of the island from Skiathos town which is about a twenty minute taxi / bus or boat trip away. It looks like the original hotel was called the Xenia makes up the main building with some rooms looking out onto Kookanaries beach. The Elive hotel have then acquired a significant amount of land that spans the entire headland and offers four beaches to pick from. The hotel now offers rooms in the original hotel and the Grace area which is located right next door to the original hotel and then the Nest area and Ifinity area which are on the other side of the headland and have great afternoon sun and are a good 10 - 12 minute walk from the main hotel. We stayed in the infinity area with a room with a hot tub at the front of the area that provided great views of the ocean. The room was reasonably spacious but lacked good storage particularly drawer space for clothes. Thought the hot tub would be a waste of time but it was more a warm tub and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the tub a few times with a cold beer. Note a lot of the rooms have a small pool, this seemed great but they are not heated, so we didn't see many people using them or the main pool because they were very cold, perhaps less of an issue in July and August but didnt seem used much in September. The room service was very good generally with a towel and bedding change everyday, would have preferred to reduce this and save on the environmental impact of extra washing. Also small details were missed like not changing drinking glasses which had been used and not providing additional soap or shampoo that were provided when we first arrived. Breakfast was very good and served in the main hotel on the terrace where they have a steak restaurant in the evening. The food selection was really good and stunning views from the terrace. Note the breakfast is a buffet and they encourage people to sanitise hands when they go in to get food and also use disposable gloves and were a mask in the serving area. Of course quite a few people didn't and one woman thought it was okay to touch lots of things and then pick up a loaf of bread slice it and then put the loaf back after she had touched and a lot of other things. Needless to say I didn't have any of that bread! There are three restaurants - italian open only for lunch, stak house in the main hotel and a fish/seafood restaurant in the Nest area. The Japanese restaurant was closed when we were there. The fish restaurant was okay but the food was average and the steak I had at the steak restaurant was very good. Overall service was very good from most people and a special shout out to Charlotte for great service at breakfast and in the fish restaurant. Some people have mentioned some staff were surly, rude and unfriendly and I would say that we found most of the staff to be very good and quite friendly with one of two perhaps a little surly but think maybe its a language thing speaking to people in a different language but generally pretty good service. Note the hotel has some very step roads / paths and these can be quite hard work but the hotel does offer a very good pick up drop off service using golf carts. Overall this is a very good hotel that lacks a few little details but has a great location and think that Banana beach is world class with soft sand and incredibly clear water to swim in. Beach bar service very good but food really not very good. It would be great if they could set up a traditional greek taverna at the beach which sure would be very popular.

We came here for our honeymoon, prior to arriving my husband had been emailing the hotel for trips etc we could take he had explained it was our honeymoon, (unfortunately due to a death in the family he never confirmed anything) however on arrival we did expect something at least in the room to congratulate us for example a note, there was nothing, the service in the hotel was ok but very impersonal. The massage we both got which cost 280euros was horrendous my husband said 'it was the worse experience of my life' ... The bars were all a bit dead no atmosphere, no consistency in food offered, happy hour would of been nice or at least some music ..room service had a very limited menu.. to say this cost us more then our original honeymoon to Mauritius we were disappointed. The only plus side was the private pool and the buggys which we never had to wait for. We definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone celebrating an occasion, at best it nice for a couple of nights!!!

We stayed here in September as a family group . We couldn’t fault the location with its beautiful beaches and well thought out room lay out but! The management in general seemed none existent When we arrived we were given a rapid verbal description of where, how and no advice or brochure in the room we were told later this was because of Covid,! a laminated sheet( easily wipeable and sanitised) would have helped. Apparently all the info was on the room tv - none of us were told this We were astounded that ther e was no coffee or tea making equipment in the rooms-room service didn’t open until 8am We begged a kettle but getting English tea, milk etc was a problem and never topped up. No fresh water in the room except the first day and no automatic top up even though we ran out every day and had to buy it The main dining room was a delightful setting but the service was atrocious No salt or pepper on the tables, never coffee coinciding with the milk, and staff far too busy clearing tables. We complained every day- no manager to speak to We tried the other 2 restaurants and were disappointed at the lack of fresh fish, and mediocre food. Also very uncomfortable chairs at the beach restaurant and no atmosphere. We booked once into the main terrace restaurant but they had forgotten to tell us this was closed! The gym was a joke- more like a cupboard with poor equipment and the fact that you had to book a slot was because it was so small! Great potential if managed properly
