Detailed Reviews
We are just back from a 3 week stay at the Telesilla Hotel in Kontokali, Corfu.
Firstly, let me say, we had no worries about travelling to the hotel at this time as we knew they had every precaution in place for both the staff and guests safety.
The rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standard, and your comfort is a priority for the Telesilla.
All the staff are amazing, and so very friendly. Your comfort and enjoyment is what they all work towards and nothing is too much trouble.
There is a good choice for breakfast, normally buffet style, but, due to the current situation, it is served to you by 2 lovely, forever smiling, staff - Hara and Alma. Hara is also available, during the day, to serve you drinks and food, around the pool area, and always with a smile.
In the evening, Makis, Yannis, and Angelos are happy to welcome you to the restaurant which serves an extensive menu of the most amazing food prepared to the highest standard, (I can personally recommend the stifado) whilst Toma, the best bartender in Corfu, with a little help from Angelika, is happy to serve you with whatever concoction you might want to try.
All in all, in my opinion, the Telesilla Hotel is the best hotel on the island, with the best possible staff who, from the moment you arrive, make you are feel part of the Telesilla family where nothing is too much trouble, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
People return to the Telesilla year after year because of the service, comfort and friendliness of the staff.

The service at The Telesilla is outstanding. From Makis, Elizabeth and all the staff, Yannis, Aggelos, Aggeliki, Hara and Alma and of course not forgetting the first class barman, Toma, the face to face staff here are a pleasure to be around.
Behind the scenes the hotel is kept in magnificent order by the cleaning staff, who everyday, work extremely hard in these difficult times to ensure the hotel is spotlessly clean and safe.
The food available at The Telesilla, whether it be breakfast, pool side snacks, or in the restaurant is just simply splendid.
Moussaka to die for, Sofrito which is an outstanding Corfiot dish and of course Stifado, which is cooked to perfection and many other fabulous dishes on offer, all served by a friendly and cheery member of staff.
There is a reason why so many people return to this hotel, year after year and often several times a year. It is Outstanding, magnificent, splendid and more.
Don't just take my word for it, check it out for yourself!

We previously reviewed this lovely hotel, when we paid our first visit in 2017. Our promise to return came true when we came back in 2018, and 2019; and we were happy that our experiences were very similar. We booked again for 2020, but, like so many millions of travellers, Covid intervened to delay our next visit.
In May, we returned once again, to find that the family were still firmly in control, and providing excellent service. As before, it was wonderful to have lovely food at the hotel, then a few steps to our room, cutting out the needless expense of taxi rides, or a walk from the main body of restaurants. Yiannis, Michael and Thomas were on hand every night to enhance the experience, and much work has been done during Covid to update the restaurant itself.
Differences for us this year? As well as spending more time, in superb weather, on Kontokali beach, watching the liners arriving each morning, my wife relaxed on the sunny hotel roof terrace, whilst I enjoyed a few long walks into the hills nearby. I particularly liked a leisurely hour long climb to Kapodistrias museum, situated on the top of a hill, with stunning views, and a spotlessly clean toilet, (a must after a long walk in the sun), and ample parking if you take the easy option.
Our visit this year did not include a visit to the nearby town, but,as intimated, the arrival of a couple of cruise ships makes Corfu town a less pleasurable experience for all other travellers. All being well, we will return to Hotel Telesilla as soon as we can.

You can get a good night sleep at this hotel, so long as you are not placed in one of the rooms by the motorway. The location might be good for some, but the traffic noise is tremendous and it is not a pretty sight either. The breakfast is fine, with a wide range somewhat and pleasant environment around the pool to enjoy your food. Good internet and TV access, some staff members friendlier than others; but the biggest downsides would be the very small size of the rooms (although pleasantly decorated) and the lack of good parking spaces.

We stayed here 3 nights in July 2020. It was our first time in Corfu and we were booked it because it was close to Corfu town (a short drive away) and it had parking. Joanna (Ιωάννα) in the reception was very friendly, very helpful and made us feel welcome. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, where they make very delicious dishes (we had sofrito, a traditional dish), the waiter who served us was very nice and very polite, offering us excellent service. The hotel is very nice, very clean. Breakfast is very good, changes every day, with signature dishes, as opposed to the usual standard breakfast menu that you find in hotels. Now the cons: the parking has been narrowed down by new shops that opened on the edge of its premises so even if you are able to park the car, it will be difficult to move out, so we ended up parking on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. The room was small for 3 adults to live in it and the hotel does not have rooms with 3 single beds, only with double bed and single bed, which made the sleeping arrangement for 2 of us a bit difficult. The bathroom is very small and the shower by design does not have a door so we ended up with lots of water on the bathroom floor constantly; the drainage is higher than the bathroom floor level, so the water wouldn't drain properly.

Many thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay. I won’t pick anyone out for special mention because you all made my week with you special.
Makis and Elizabeth and the whole team have provided a very comfortable experience in such a challenging time with excellent food served in their informal Resteraunt.
I can not recommend the hotel more highly particularly if your travelling on your own as I did.

We love eating out and visited Hotel Telesilla for an evening meal, as a family, whilst on holiday. I booked a table via Facebook and they were quick to confirm and when we arrived, the restaurant managed recognised us, by my Facebook profile and greeted us by name. Great attention to detail! Our server for the evening was also fantastic and recommended an excellent bottle of wine. We shared a starter of mussels with bread and then for mains we individually chose pork belly, king prawns and chicken, with deserts of apple pie, chocolate brownie and lemon tart. The food was the best we'd eaten during our holiday and the pool location in the evening was tranquil and set the scene perfectly. Prices reflect the quality in food, service and location and we'd love to return, when holidaying again in Corfu.

The 3 star hotel that gives a 5 star service. Tucked out of the way, near to the entrance of Gouvia Marina, the outside of the hotel is understated but clean and tidy. The transformation happens once you step through the front door, or the poolside entrance at the back of the hotel. You are met with a clean, tidy and modern hotel. This is a little oasis of superb, professional and undoubtedly friendly service from a team of staff they care about you and greet you like family. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The pool area with its outside bar is welcoming, well maintained with attentive staff. The hotel is run by Makis and his family and staff. They are switched on, friendly and helpful. They offer a service unrivalled in 3 star hotels; and honestly I have not had such service in much higher ‘rated’ hotels. This place achieves the perfect balance between friendly and efficient. We booked for 7 days and enjoyed every minute. The room was serviced every day, kept cool with air conditioning and was well equipped with TV and fridge. I cannot recommend this place enough.
The surrounding area is a little tired, but don’t let that put you off. Corfu town is 10 minutes by bus or taxi, and the marina is a few minutes walk away. 10/10 for Telesilla.

From the airport it is €20-25
There are no baths but modern shower cubicles that have all been refurbished this year
I have been coming here for 11 years and never had a wasp problem, you’ll be fine at the Telisillia. 👍🏽
Kontokali is a working village supporting the marina rather than a resort. A good selection of tavernas in the village and lots more cafes and restaurants on the marina a couple of minutes walk away. The Telesilla is the best in the evening. The more traditional resort of Gouvia is a 15 minute walk through the village or via the marina with a much bigger selection of touristy bars and eateries.
