Positives: - The hotel is very modern and well decorated - we arrived at the hotel around 1pm and were able to check in straight away which was quite nice, especially after spending all morning travelling, despite the check in time being 3pm - The staff were lovely and were always on hand if needed, especially the barmen, both in the hotel and at the pool, who were always very polite and always provided a great service considering they had to work the bars alone - the lady who cleaned our room each day was also lovely and did a great job of making our room up and replacing things we had used - Beautiful location with great views - it was fascinating to watch the airplanes land and they did not keep us up during the night - the latest flight would usually be around 11pm - our room did a good job of blocking out most of the sound considering we were opposite the runway - Our room was lovely - the shower and air con were great - the balcony was a nice place to sit and chill - the fridge was useful to keep drinks and snacks cool - the bed was super comfy and we always managed to get a good nights sleep - a thing to bear in mind, the rooms provide a kettle, mugs and a teaspoon but no tea/coffee/sugar/milk - There was a decent variety of bar drinks for the all inclusive package which consisted of many cocktails you'd expect to have back in the UK e.g. Sex on the beach, Tequila sunrise, Blue lagoon, Pina colada - if you wanted Cola as a mixer, it would generally be quite flat, although the local Corfu beer that they served was very tasty and refreshing - The local bus into Corfu Town stops just round the corner from the hotel, a one way ticket for this can be purchased from the mini market behind the hotel for 1.20 rather than the bus' charge of 1.70 - The pool areas were spacious and clean, and have their own bar with a decent selection of hot and cold drinks - We were dubious of the weather in Greece during October as we were expecting it to not be as hot as we would have liked, however the weather was perfect throughout our stay without a single drop of rain - the hotel in general wasn't overly busy and we always managed to get a sunbed - We would definitely recommend taking the boat over to Mouse Island for 2.5 euros (return ticket) - the views were very picturesque and they had their own little cafe there - also take a walk over to the Monastery, again with lovely views and a cute little gift shop - In terms of shops, there is a mini market behind the hotel, however there are 2 bigger markets about a 15 min walk away - There are a lot of stray cats around Corfu, most of which are very cute and friendly, particularly the cat who would tend to sit outside the hotel (picture below) Negatives: - Upon reading the reviews before we booked our stay at this hotel, we didn't have high expectations for the food - most of the food was lukewarm, and the variety was never the greatest. There was usually a good selection of fruit and veg each day, however this wasn't enough to rely on for a week's stay - at least we knew we had something to fall back on though as there weren't many places to eat out around the area unless you ventured into the town, however the 'Royal Cafe' just next to the hotel serves great food, especially for lunch as we had both the club sandwhich and the ham and cheese toastie which were lovely - The pool water was freezing, and not as refreshing as we thought and hoped it'd be even on a day with 27º heat - please be wary of the decking around the pool as some areas are uneven and pose as a trip hazard - If you opt for the all inclusive package, bar snacks are included, however it tended to be the same food every day and there'd only ever be the one option - All inclusive drinks ended at 11:30pm even though the bar was open till 12:30am which was slightly disappointing - When booking this holiday, one of its selling points was the room service, which was said to be included in the all inclusive package - room service does in fact NOT exist here (we checked 3 times!) - The shower in our room was nice, however it would often overfill, meaning the entire bathroom floor would get soaked - The WiFi worked well if you were in the reception or bar area, however not so much whilst you were in your room - Be mindful that the toilets next to the pool do not have lockable doors on them and do not close properly Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit Greece again, however we'd be more likely to choose a different Greek island next time, mostly to explore Greece as a whole but also because there wasn't much to do around this particular area after a few days had passed.

We had a little break of 4 days 3 nights in this hotel . I’m actually writing this from my Sun-bed on my last day) We paid £169pp all inclusive. Bargain. I read the reviews before I knew what to expect. This is my 20th visit to a Greek island (3rd time to Corfu) if you know Greece well you will understand why something’s are the way they are in this hotel. The Greeks are very laid back they plan to do all the jobs that need doing however it doesn’t always get done. And when it gets done it’s not always great. For example many people complained about the toilets at the pool. They are a room one mans and one women’s cubical they have glass doors and no locks and the door isn’t close enough to hold ( I can imagine in high season this isn’t great) however the doors say men and women on them hatched out of the frosted glass however someone put the door on backwards so it reads the wrong way! This is very Greek and made us smile! Our room was absolutely fine. Had been modernised we was in the “bit across the road” and that was still fine. Close to the airport - in high season I can see why people wouldn’t like it. However it did not bother me one little bit and I’m a light sleeper . However we was lucky we came at the end of the season. Pool area is fine. Maybe the decking needs re doing. The bar was fine along with the drinks. Food was ok it wasn’t red hot as most people said but for what we paid it was absolutely fine. Like I said Iv been to Greece 20 time and this is my first ever all inclusive as we love Greek food. We eat at the kanoni cafe for lunch one day and in the afternoon before we went to the airport which was lovely . They bring bus trips of people in to this cafe from the cruise ships so it must be nice and it was along with a lovely view . We got the gyros plate! And Iv had a fair few gyros in my time ! It was yummy! Also a tip if you come here maybe check out car prices for your stay as we knew it was close to the airport we didn’t book transfers @ £30 pp for 4 people. We got a car via enterprise (based in the airport for £39 for 4 days collected when we landed and dropped off when we went home ) I’d say this place isn’t ok for Children or teens . However for couples ( we was a party of 4 my mum and dad me and my boyfriend ) there isn’t much for kids or anything happening on a night time . We sat in the bar played cards . A couple of the nights went to captain Georges for a drink. If you walk down the steps to the bit where the church is if you follow the sea round to the left there is a lovely little bay. I think this will normally be occupied by the next door hotel however it was shut for the season and it was stunning! Overall great stay . The staff in reception are lovely and helpful. So are the dining room and bar staff . Great little cheap get away for a few days of winter sun.

So we got transferred over to The Royal Hotel. Rooms brilliant and comfy beds! Lovely view of the runway and the sea and in general a nice looking hotel. But then we went for the food, first of all loads of people push into the queue with no manners and try to get food in front of you. This is then resulting in no food left for others. Then when you do get to the food on time it is cold and a very little variety for anyone with dietary requirements or just normal in general. The food is tasteless and is just pretty much the same reused. Other than the food it’s nice little area and relaxing with the pool.
