I visited Eoanna’s Traditional Cottages from New York and have only good things to say. The cottages are set in a small village and made of ancient greek architecture overlooking the ocean. We had stunning views right from our private roof terrace. Each cottage is slightly different, and there are less than ten, so there is a lot of privacy and peace and quiet. The cottages have great top-of-the-line amenities (like a Nespresso coffee maker), a small kitchen, living room, and bed room, perfect for some lone time with a significant other. One thing that really made our stay memorable was Eoanna, our host and owner of the Cottages. Eoanna was so friendly and welcoming, going out of her way to make us feel at home. She had lots of insider tips of things to do and helping with restaurant reservations. The Cottages are set in a small village Kousunari, a five minute walk from the beach and within walking distance to an abundance of great restaurants. The south of Crete was also a great choice for us, since it was far less touristy than the north. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

A unique place, we loved the terrace with the view over the sea and the curious kittens. The cottage has everything you need and is very cute with its rustic interior design. There was quite strong wind, but there are protected beaches only 10 min drive away. There are supermarkets and a pharmacy nearby.

My mom and I (Italians) arrived in Crete with pretty low expectations, we couldn’t have been more wrong! The cottages were very tasteful and incredibly clean, and the location is perfect to get to the wonderful island of Chrisi, being very peaceful but just 10 minutes from the city of Ierapetra.

Koutsounari, as well as the cottages themselves, are the ideal destination to wind down and enjoy every minute of your stay. The cottages are so immaculately clean and tastefully decorated that whatever you set your eyes on conveys a sense of serenity and calmness. The way the cottages are arranged caters for the sought after privacy you need, allowing for quiet enjoyable evenings with books and drinks on the patio. Also, there is plenty of space for the hyperactive little ones, both indoors and outdoors in the beautiful gardens. Ioanna, our kind hostess, was most helpful giving us a few precious pointers about wining & dining upon arrival and we very much appreciated the help, as we had a wonderful time! Overall, I would recommend the whole experience of Koutsounari Traditional Cottages and I am really looking forward to my next visit!
