Apartment hotel set in peaceful gardens of oleander and geraniums at the top of the village. Honest, comfortable and scrupulously clean accommodation - charming, friendly and efficient hosts. The site is set above the coastal strip and the sea-view apartments have very generous 'outside room' balconies commanding 180 degree panorama of the Libyan sea. Friendly reception on arrival with an unexpected and very welcome bonus of a starter pack of tea, coffee, toasts and local quince jam to cover that first breakfast. Beaches, tavernas and local shops are a 5 minute drive, and walking trails into the hills of the national park to the rear of the site start at the entrance. This is also an ideal location to explore the less developed and stunningly beautiful eastern end of the island with everywhere within an easy day trip and Heraklion airport about 90 minutes by car. And to help wile away a sunny day on your balcony or beside the large pool, reception has a library of books in various languages!

This is one of the rare reviews that one cannot wait to write (landed 3 hours ago). Everything was just great! The owners have made of Nakou an enchanting place. They have finely furnished the apartments (we had two studios) with typical simple Cretan vacation home style. You would stay all day in the quietest terrace watching the sea view from a high hill spot. Apartments are very clean and room service is every 2 days. Sleep was also comfortable with good bedding and air conditioning. Location wise it is convenient as a base to visit the area. You have public beaches at 5minutes drive. It is 15 mn drive from Ierapetra (no traffic) and 30/45mn to the nicest beaches along the coast. You do not even feel the distance as you are enjoying the scenary and the breathtaking views. A wide variety of restaurants are also 5mn driving distance. The breakfast by the pool is also great and Musaka is a must, all home made. You also get the hospitality and heartfelt smile as a bonus! Thank you for a wonderful vacation, we will be back. Moetaz

Magnificent sea view, spacious apartments, well maintained, relaxing large pool with a view to the beach. Try the traditional dish of the day prepared by Mrs Dora by the pool. All of the clients were decent. Located at the top of the hill above Koutsounari.

I visited Nakou village this summer, with two of my university friends, and we absolutely loved it! The cottages were beautiful - inside and out. The traditional exterior was picturesque, and inside the cottages offered all amenities as well as a simple but excellent decor. When we settled in we also noticed the most delicious homemade almond biscotti along with some homemade jam for us to enjoy. I could personally eat those everyday!! We later found out that they were made by Ioanna's lovely mum, which made it even more personal. As for the location, we appreciated being a little outside Ierapetra, as we had a car and took frequent excursions in the nearby area (which is stunning!), but also could get to the city within about 10-15 minutes. This was my second visit to the cottages, and I will definitely be coming back in the future!

If you like peace and quietness, Nakou Village is the place to be. The appartments do have all you need. It is traditionally decorated and feel cosy. Everything is available: oven, toaster, coffee machine. The restaurant (breakfast & lunch) is good. They give extra attention to the kids (sometimes a free small icecream). The swimming pool is nice and there are always beds available. The owners seems to be a bit French orientated (the owner speaks french), but English well enough to understand. In the village, there are two other nice restaurants as well.

Nakou Village is a basic hotel offering self-catering apartments. It is set on a hill and has stunning views to the sea. The place is very clean, the pool large and well-kept. The apartments themselves are not pretty per se, but they are spacious, clean with large verandas. There are toiletries in the bathroom and the kitchen is equipped with most things for preparing a basic meal. When we arrived there was local raki in the fridge, a bottle of water and local cookies, a kind offering by the owners. There is free wi-fi in the room. The one problem I saw with our stay were the beds, which were very hard and uncomfortable. If you are not picky about it, you may well consider staying there. Also, there is no daily cleaning of the rooms: you have to do it yourself (broom and mop provided). Finally, this is a good place to explore the area, which has some of the best beaches in Crete, and to enjoy the local cuisine, in one of the numerous restaurants nearb, but you definitely need a car!!

Nakou village is a complex of villas up to the hill of koutsounari just a few kilometers from Ierapetra. Its highly recommended for the people who want to relax, explore the nearby long beaches, the nature and enjoy the cretan food. The stuff are very friendly and helpful. Mrs Dora (the owner) look after you with big smile as always. Our villa , no 103 was very clean, spacious , with great see view. In arrival we had complimentary home made jam , and pure honey. Our daughters were excited with their bedroom so did we. We are really enjoyed. We will defenetely come back soon!! Thank you for everything mrs Dora!! Christos-Lydia-Marisa-Konstantia
