This B&B is fantastic. When you are planning on visiting Denali Park the location of this place is really great. We stayed here for one night only but it was enough to confirm what other travelers said - that both the host (Marianne) and the lodging/food are spectacular. To start, the place is impeccably clean (a major plus for me), located in a calming/pretty location but not far from the main road and all around just feels like someone's nice home. When you arrive in the afternoon there is a lovely assortment of teas and cookies. Marianne was also graciously available to help us settle in a bit and provide information/tips on what is around. We were famished from our drive from Anchorage and took her advice on where to look for a great bite to eat. In the morning there was…
So if you are looking for a wonderful private B and B stay near the entrance to Denali Park and away from the cruise crowd in the touristy town down the road, this is your best choice. Marianne is a great hostess and even better baker!!! Her husband Fritz is a guide in the Park and knows the entire state. What more could you ask for! This is also their home in the winter so it is well furnished, clean and cared for. The best restaurant in the area, 229, is just a mile away but make a reservation. Very popular!
Great place to stay. We took the train to Denali from Anchorage. The Deneki Lakes B&B was great - charming. Fritz and Marianne were delightful. Marianne made amazing breakfasts. They had great suggestions. You can pay $80/per night for them to drive you around. That was great and necessary without a car.
Fritz' and Marianne run a beautiful B&B. everything is so clean and nice. The breakfast Marianne makes is superb. There are some house rules to keep the house clean and the B&B area proper. All and all we had a great stay (3 nights) and left the place with the feeling we left some friends behind.
We were looking for something special for our anniversary and found it here. Marianne was amazing and we felt like best friends within minutes of meeting her. We worried a bit when we made reservations that the B&B looked a bit plain and that it would be hard to find nice restaurants. The views were spectacular especially from the dining area and the B&B was filled with lovely and comfortable furniture. The bountiful breakfasts were so good and presented beautifully. There were always extra muffins or bread that we could take with us as a snack for the day. We had a choice of near-by restaurants recommended by Marianne. The two we tried were wonderful and I think much better than was available near the park entrance. If you are looking for something beautiful a bit away from the…
