Good windsurfing and sailing experience with some challenging gusts. Kit was good. Good beach and swim area. Some lovely and hilly running areas. Hotel and Neilson staff were excellent. Hotel room was comfortable and sustenance most suitable. The village is lovely and Greek culture. You can even go alternative and join the local naturalist further down the beach! I didn't find the prices that bad. A chilled time was had.

Reviews of this club are bound to feature the bar prices which are extortionate, expect to pay 2x to 3x the prices in town, but pre-warned you can grab some beers in town on your first night & keep your fridge full to mitigate a shock bill when you leave. The sailing here is fantastic, the kit is great & the wind is steady / strong in the afternoon. The Resteraunt does a good job for a mass hot buffet that feeds hundreds of guests in 1 1/2 hours. It isn’t as good as dinner out however, so you will enjoy your non-inclusive nights more. The rest of the hotel is OK. For me, it’s not as good as Neilson’s other beach resort in Vounaki, & that sums it up; For great holiday dinghy sailing come to the Aeolian Village, for anything else book Vounaki.

First time at this Neilson hotel having visited others previously. We are keen windsurfers so wasn’t sure how it would compare with Vass where we had been for previous two years. We were pleasantly surprised - sailing area is less busy and seemed bigger and wind was really good for the two weeks we were there (and good wind seems typical from talking to people). Wind is offshore which worried me slightly before going but this isn’t a problem at all - anyone having a problem getting back can take the ‘taxi’. Tuition was great - (Pete and Carrie especially). Only downside was equipment which there could be more of (maybe impacted by fire?) - certainly they needed more smaller sails for women - one day choice was a 5m or 3.7m - some 4.5m would be welcome. I’d heard they may market this as a premium windsurfing resort which, given the conditions they could, but equipment upgrade would be required. Food at hotel was lovely and lots of variety - even after two weeks there. We stayed in main hotel - room was small and maybe slightly tired, but had everything we needed. Daughter did surfbusters which she loved and had so much fun on the water and playing games etc - Joe was a great nanny. She loved pool which felt very safe. Sun loungers both at pool and beach could do with an upgrade - they were very heavy and had seen better days. Beach was lovely- though take shoes - sand was sooo hot! Town was 10 min walk away and had great vibe - very chilled and good, simple food and nice bars (especially Parasol). We have just got back and feel so chilled - will be returning next year- testament to a great holiday - thanks Neilson!

Our 4th Neilson holiday so we obviously love it, we had a great time but it was upsetting to see the amount of single use plastic still used in the hotel. Great that they have introduced reusable water bottles but there were often only disposable cups available for hot drinks at breakfast and a lot of drinks at the pool bar were automatically served in plastic. Come on Neilson if you don't want glass at the pool bar move to reusable festival style cups. Also ditch the small toiletries in the bathrooms and focus instead on smartening the rather tired bedrooms. Food, childcare and activities otherwise all excellent.

The more than two hour transfer is well worth it, to get to this wonderful family resort. The Aeolian Beachclub is close to the end of the road, with only a relatively quiet clothing optional beach beyond. We holidayed days after a fire which destroyed much of the sail boards and related equipment, however the beach tower was reconstructed and a new supply of sail boards and equipment was on site on the Monday. The loss of the beach bar was not noticed. This is a great Beachclub Hotel for a family holiday. The sailing was well organised, and the racing competitive. In one race three Lazers lost masts, but all were back sailing the following day! We particularly enjoyed the snorkelling trip with the on site dive company, Blackrock Diving. Food in the dining room was first class, with a great mix of local options as well as the more standard fare. On the non inclusive nights you can visit the many restaurants in the nearby (10 minute walk) village - reviewed separately. We enjoyed the holiday so much we are planning our return trip!
