1st time in Crete for over 20 years, we chose a relatively new hotel in Analipsi near Heraklion. In fact it’s only 20mins by cab. On arrival through the small village of Analipsi you would be forgiven for thinking where have they put a 5 star hotel around here as it does look a little run down or in need of refurbishment. But it is still Analipsi real and locals run their businesses and are very friendly and its lovely because it’s not been turned fully yet into a holiday resort. Further up the coast only a few 100 yds their are complete hotel runs for families etc one after the other but the Elysium is just on the main road opposite the beach where they have their own private area. The hotel is extremely well run and has most rooms with private decent size pools or as we had a VIP Suite which was split into 3 main areas. Lounge , Bedroom and bathroom with walk in shower and a balcony off the bedroom overlooking the sea and the pool and a huge roof terrace where we had seating for 8 people and could have had a party for 60. An amazing room. The staff were extremely friendly and very quickly got to know the customers and stopped to chat also. The manager was very approachable and unlike many listened to our opinions and was very grateful for our comments. A pleasant and refreshing change. We loved the pool area which was very well looked after and it seems is used by a few magazines for photo shoots. Great pool and with no children under 16 allowed a very grown up hotel. Lovely choice at breakfast and also lunch and different themed evenings so a great variation on your evening dinners. Wine if you were not inclusive was only 4 € per glass and most items on the menus were very good value. Also had a great a la Carter Restsurant / bar down opposite the beach where most went in the evening and created a good atmosphere. All said a very relaxing holiday in a very good hotel that I’m sure will solve any small boggles anyone may have as they LISTEN. Well done to the team At Elysium Boutique Analipsi. We also had treatments at The Elysium Spa and we were extremely well looked after and the treatments were 1st class. We would certainly recommend the hotel and I’m sure there are lots of other boutique style hotels around the islands of Greece that could offer similar but we stayed here and were very happy we did.

Very disappointing experience. When we arrived at the hotel, we got a completely different bungalow than the one shown in pictures. The pool was cut in half and there was no hammock. After speaking with the staff about it we got the room which was shown in picuteres but we felt like they were annoyed when we requested a switch in rooms. The room with pool and hammock we eventually got was very nice and we enjoyed every single bit of it. Though, the staff still was rude to us. I asked for a clean of the pool since it was full of bugs (which was no problem since they had no opportunity to prepare the room and pool). The lady was unkind unfortunately. We were all inclusive guests and never got a refill of the mini bar as they promise. The food is also pretty disappointing as mostly all the food was cold and meat was chewy. We decided to not go there again for lunch and diner. Bliss bar had good food (minus the steak) with very kind staff. We ate there nearly every day for lunch. The rest of our stay was mostly good because of the private pool which we really enjoyed. On check out the lady was very unkind and didn’t bother to ask how our stay was. When we got back home I realised I forgot my pillow, which is a special made pillow for neck support. We asked via mail if they could send it to us while we would cover expenses but never got any form of reply. In conclusion: facilities were good but our experience with this hotel was very disappointing and we will definetly never go to any Elysium hotel again.

Dear Guest, With your review, we would like to thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay in Elysium Boutique Resort. We truly welcome and value all the comments of our guests as direct feedback always helps us to try harder, in order to exceed our guests’ expectations and continue providing exclusive luxury services. We are truly sorry to hear that we did not exceed your expectations regarding your stay in our hotel. We have been totally surprised reading the fact the staff of the Reception were rude as a high percentage of reviews name the friendliness and kindess of our personnel. We regret to read that food in the Main Restaurant did not meet your taste preferences. Food & Beverage quality has always been one of our first priorities in our chain and we would like to reassure you that we are placing every effort to deliver the best possible result. Our Executive Chef arranges daily another theme evening on the buffet items in order to guarantee the best possible variety for our guests and to meet all preferences. Further also to our communication, we confirmed that your e mail was not received successfully in our account but on the Spam which resulted to the delayed response. confirming that we found your pillow in the room and that it would be send to your home address by us. Taking into account your well-intended, constructive criticism and comments, we truly hope that you would give us the opportunity to welcome you again in our Boutique Resort, in order to experience our improved luxury services. With kind regards, Marika Zanettou Hotel Manager

My husband and I were actually staying all inclusive at a larger hotel with our family, just up the road, but when given the opportunity for a night alone we decided to head out of the complex and explore some other places. We found bliss bar just as the sun was setting and we were immediately welcomed by the fabulous staff. The drinks were delicious and the food just wonderful. I would reccomend the beef. I don't know what they did to it but it was genuinely the most fabulous beef I have ever tasted! Atmosphere great, relaxing music. Really enjoyed our evening. If we return to crete without our children we would definitely come to elysium Hotel. Lok'tar ogar! (for our fabulous horde waiter! 😁)

Lots of positives about this hotel, but it wasn't quite what I expected from a 5star hotel. Lovely staff, the room was clean and spacious, and it's close to the beach. But the bathrooms need a good scrub to get the limescale off. The major problem with this hotel is that the food is very bad, and the wifi was intermittent - if they can sort that out then it would be a lovely hotel.

New, modern hotel, lovely rooms. Very clean. Another reviewer mentioned stunning views, but to be honest the views are only slightly better than average. The pool area looked very nice but we didn't use it so can't really comment. The bar in the hotel did not open in the time that we were there which was a shame, so we had to schlep down to the open air bar at the front of the hotel. It can be quite chilly, but was warmed by the ever-smiling Yannis and his charm!! The food in the bar was lovely. Our room was very comfortable and clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and served by a lovely waiter from Slovakia(?) - sorry, didn't catch your name - who was very helpful and always charming. The staff throughout the hotel were top notch, and the place was kept spotless at all times. As for the area - it's a bit Butlins! Nothing wrong with that if you like Butlins, but it seemed a strange place to put an upmarket hotel. If you have a car there is parking at the back. Check in at the bar at the front of the hotel and they will take your car there. I had a massage in the spa - we were told that the sauna wasn't working when we arrived - but when I asked a few days later if it was working I was told "of course!" as though my question was a surprise, so I don't know the truth in that. It seemed to be mostly about massages than anything else. But the massage was very good! The shower took a little time to heat up, but we weren't in a hurry, and it was very spacious. All in all we had a lovely week, we ate in the bar a couple of times, drank in the bar every evening, but spent every day in the hire car sightseeing. The architecture and the staff are the stars!
