Stella Palace may be beautiful and have lovely clean apartments but that is where the good ends. The dining experience is horrendous and worse than a junior school dining hall. The cacophony of noise rises to a deafening crescendo as the complaints start flying. Total lack of staff who are run off their feet. Food seems to be strategically place so that you have to cue for each item of your meal individually, I don't mean each course, I mean each food item. By the time you have a complete meal most of it is cold and it's pretty lacklustre. You are lucky if by the time you get to your table a drink has been poured for you. Despite promising different theme nights in the main Poseidon restaraunt it was mainly fish. Not being a fish eater, I ate mainly pizza which was delicious (have to que for that too 5 -10 minutes) only 2 pizzas were made at once. I visited the 5 star a la carte steakhouse hoping for a respite. While it was quieter the service was extremely slow and poor. I ordered a non all inclusive bottle of wine only to be told 'we don't sell it by the glass' I said that's why I ordered the bottled. The misogyny runs deep here as the male waiter brought out the wine I chose and explained all its properties to my male partner who then asked him to explain to me as I'd chosen it. He did, huffing then asked my partner to try it instead of myself. The main course eventually came out approx 45 minutes from the starter, wrong sauce and honestly I've had better steaks in wotherspoons. I asked for the correct sauce and the waiter denied there was a difference (chimmichurri sauce and a beef with fennel and red wine sauce, definitely a difference) he then brought me the menu and I pointed it out, so 1 correct sauce was provided. Long story short it was terrible and we left before dessert. Fobbed off by reception from the moment we arrived after requesting a late check out, we had a late evening flight home. They told us we could use their shower rooms, we arrived to use shower rooms and were told we had to book them. Apparently you need to be psychic here. We were able to book a shower room for 7pm which was 30 minutes before our pick up and gave us 15 minutes to eat at the restaurant that has a 20 min cue and a crypton factor approach to meal placement! Nowhere near 5 star, will never return, would never recommend, thank god the weather was fantastic.

Download the Stella hotels collection before you go and as soon as you check in, book the restaurants. They are all a unique experience with the highest quality delicious three course meals. They meet all dietary requirements so make sure you add any to your comments when booking. The sharing pool I was the icing on the cake for us, pure luxury and was perfect to meet friends and have an early morning swim. They make cocktails fresh and garnish beautifully. And every bar has new cocktails to try. The staff are super friendly and helpful and so personable, they really care that you have a perfect holiday and go above and beyond to help with anything you need. If you need medication whilst away, order it from reception and it arrived less than two hours later and cost less than €6 in total. The aqua park is one of the best I’ve ever been to, plenty of slides for every age and every bravery level. The food in the aqua park I would class as ‘extremely gourmet snacks’, super delicious and again the highest of quality. Foods to suit any dietary requirement. Thank you so much for making it quite simply the holiday of our dreams.

Me and my daughter (6) just returned from one weeks stay at the Stella Palace, Crete. We stayed in a suite with private pool and honestly was the best experience. As a solo parent traveller, holidays can be quite daunting but our stay was everything we could have hoped for. The staff, could not be more helpful and friendly, genuine interactions and interest I felt. The reception team and staff who help move you around the resort were all lovely and so friendly and happy to help. The water parks are fantastic and cater to all ages and abilities with multiple options / areas. The poolside snacks are far better than the normal snack bars on holiday. Plenty loungers and never felt too crowded or on top of people. We enjoyed a day at the spa where myself and daughter had massages and pedicures, Again the staff were extremely welcoming, Friendly and professional and made my daughters experience extra special. A visit is a must! The a la carte restaurants were individually beautiful, absolutely delicious and great choice. Even offered a pizza as an alternative for my fussy 6 year old! 😂 equally the main all inclusive restaurant was fab, in particular the sweets selection. The veranda for breakfast was probably the highlight and often a very talented pianist would accompany your first meal of the day. My daughter also attended kids club a couple of mornings and throughly enjoyed it. They have lots of activities on, the location is clean, Bright and airy and the staff very welcoming. I felt completely confident and safe leaving her for a couple of hours and allowed for some peace and quiet time for me! All in all, extremely clean, lovely staff from the housekeeping, to reception, spa and waiting team. Will absolutely be back but next time will be staying for longer. Many thanks for a memorable stay 😊

Hi We are are currently staying at the Stella palace aqua park we arrived on Friday at 11pm to a lovely lady at reception who checked us in and gave us our wrist bands who then sent us outside to wait in a q for for a little bus to take us to our room. We are in block 900s rooms are fabulous unfortunately our room faces what I’m guessing is a house not on the hotel grounds which has a dog barking morning noon and night ! This is where the trouble starts. In my advice do not stay at this hotel it’s is over crowded it takes 20 mins at a time to get served at any bars in the hotel. The buffet restaurant is so over crowded and under staffed it is a joke you cannot get a drink unless you drag a member of staff over who permanently stare at the floor and look terrified to be there incase they get asked to get a drink for you In fact all staff are so unhappy it is awful no smiles at all walking around the complex I’m thinking it is because they can’t cope with the people ! The la carte restaurants however are not over crowded at all and I have advised the hotel if they realise more tables in those restaurants the buffet will not have qs around the block to get in from 6pm till 9pm All in all do not book this hotel if you want 5 star service I think I have had around 6 drinks the full time I have been here from the bar considering it is an all inclusive that is not a lot ! I have mentioned all of this to the guest relations manager who has took into my account my advise for the future but nothing for me while I am here. I wanted to review this while I am here I will let you know if anything changes but at the moment for a 5 star hotel service is seriously letting it down

Housekeeping. Room cleaned every day, bedding cleaned, fresh towels and bottled water replenished. These ladies work hard. Pillows, 1 too low, 2 too high. We had a family suite with pool view in the 900’s block. I would just say there aren’t really enough sun beds for everyone here. Considering you’ve paid a premium for a shared private pool, you should expect to be able to use the pool and have a seat around it for when you get out. Poseidon restaurant (main buffet) Breakfast, there’s usually a queue for the freshly made omelettes. Not sure why, on the occasion there was a short queue I tried one, they are not great, and I use them as a healthy option but they use a lot of oil in the process. I didn’t eat any other hot food, just had croissants and bread. The orange juice is nice, tastes freshly squeezed. The tea is good, I can’t have breakfast without a cuppa. Evening meals it can be a bit mad depending what time you go. We found 8pm was pretty manic. There is not enough food, quantity or variation. What is there is generally good although some of the food is not always hot. The fresh pizza is always good. The snack bay by the slides again is OK, catering for the masses so cheap and cheerful is what you’ll get here. Everything is ready made up, gyros, burgers, nuggets and chips etc. There is also a nice ice cream bar in the waterproof with waffle cones we were pleased to find. The bookable restaurants were all nice and definitely worth visiting. The service and the food here is great. The staff at the bar by the pool were nice and friendly. Overall it was a good holiday but after reading reviews on the Facebook group for this hotel I was expecting a lot more. This was no better than others we have visited in Greek islands. Would I return, probably not. There’s really not a lot of entertainment and things going on for the kids to keep them entertained.

Wow, this place is amazing, the food, the rooms, the service, everything. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The choice of restaurants, the choice of pools, the friendly and helpful staff, fantastic. Change of bedding every day and clean towels, our flight wasnt until late so i was able to have the room for a small charge for most of the day. Sooooo good. Can't wait to return.

Stayed in summer 2023. Food is completely average Water park makes this a 5 star Or if you upgrade to a sharing pool family room The standard rooms are standard The out door gym is brilliant The Al la cartes are 6/10. Just the standard food in separate restaurants and you have to buy your own drinks Entertainment is brilliant All in all a 8/10 holiday. The water park makes this hotel.

We have had an unbelievable holiday here from the night we checked in, so much so, we have booked for next year, which we have never done anywhere else. The staff were amazing, we have a child with special needs who they went above and beyond to help. We tried to get a late check out but couldn’t as our room was booked however, later in the evening, we had a message to say they could get us a similar room, although sleeps less. As said, they went above and beyond we just wanted somewhere our boy could get a rest. The water park was amazing, it suited our 17year old and 10year old, although he was disappointed he couldn’t get on the bigger rides, maybe next year. And our 12 year old, with special needs was able to access everything with help from brothers. Thank you Stella and looking forward to next October
