This hotel is used by a nearby hotel. The hotel is located about 3km from the nearest shops. About 300m to a small private beach where it is difficult to swim: rocks, sea urchins, although there are sunbeds and sunbathing, and it is impossible to go with a disability or an elderly person, because you have to go down a steep hill, although there are stairs, but it is dangerous. The hotel itself is compact: next to the swimming pool, there is also a bar and a restaurant. The hotel is compact: next to a small swimming pool with a children’s pool, next to a bar and a restaurant. The girl working at the bar is amazing, she is just God dedicated to working at the bar. With my help, I even learned a few words in Lithuanian. Sincere wishes to her and all the staff. Cleanliness, order and good Covid safety at this hotel.…
We stayed here in Sep. 2021 for 2 nights on our "road trip" by car. The offered bargain price was very reasonsable for this hotel standard. Very clean, very kind staff. We loved the quiet, (almost) private beach just below the hotel and also the "secret" upper guest pool. However, the eating and buffet room got sometimes a bit full. We had a very memorable stay here.
How many times have you promised to yourself you would unwind, yet it never happened? How many times have you had Thassos in mind while browsing through holiday offers online? How many times have you stumbled upon a breathtaking view you couldn't take your eyes off? Probably way too many times to decide to pack your bags and set off to Thassos, an island full of inner charm and beauty, offering you a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The place off the beaten tourist track, with a population of over 13.000 people /2011 census report/, 390km2 wide, ferry accessible, in the northern side of the Aegean sea. If you looked closer at a map of Thassos, you would definitely find a small village in the very South called Astris where the Aeolis Thassos Palace Hotel has been built. A luxurious venue hosting thousands of tourists each summer from all corners of the world. Nicely designed, with a modern, spacious lobby & the reception working 24/7. Also, a welcoming bar to grab a drink as you go, with tiny white tables stretching alongside a wide patio & comfortable sofas nearby to have a read on. Two swimming-pools, one reserved for children, surrounded by sunbeds area. Free wi-fi, clean rooms, with each overlooking the Aegean sea & Kalami beach which is a perfect spot to lay your eyes on the first thing in the morning as you wake up. To tell you the truth, it has been my second visit to Aeolis Thassos Palace for I fell in love with the place some years back and longed for returning to Thassos. The pandemic made it even worse for all of us which determined me to reserve a room at this fabulous hotel this summer. We all come to a point in life when we just want to give it a try, explore something & build memories upon everywthing we experience. The same was with me, willing to enjoy open spaces on Thassos, feeling safe & knowing the hotel along with its staff keeps the highest strandards at a time of a pandemic & implements all health-related measures rigorously so that our stay becomes a memorable yet COVID-free experience. And again, Aeolis Thassos Palace passed the test flawlessly. I wouldn't dream of a better approach to this as both, a traveller & a Greece enthusiast. Foodwise, Aeolis Thassos Palace served plenty of exquisite meals at a Panorama restaurant. I admired the variety of food, and have to disagree with a bunch of former reviwers who had written the food seemed boring and predictable. Quite the contrary. The Aeolis Thassos Palace chef goes to the extra mile to make sure we are properly seated & receive the best quality dish, also hot. Aditionally, he is the one responsible for providing cold drinks to us which happens to be a nice gesture. The rest of the kitchen staff is courteous and very responsive to our kind requests. To give you an example, for breakfast we had a wide range of salads, fresh olives & feta cheese to put on a plate, dairy products, boiled eggs etc. Drinks included all types of coffee, cold drinks e.g. soda & black/green tea. Dinners focused on local cuisine with a tiny influence of a European one, though. To name a few, steamed vegetables, all types of grilled, juicy lamb meat, seafood, pasta with delicious sauces, vegetable salads, steamed baby carrots. In other words, an ideal selection for vegans & healthy food lovers. Obviously, one cannot forget about delicious desserts which would satisfy any kind of a gournmand/kid with an exceptional selection of Greek cakes, fresh, juicy fruits, cream filled tarts and so on and so forth. An all-inclusive option lets us enjoy oodles of different alcohol/alcohol-free drinks at the bar. If you get lucky, you can grab a few delicious mini ice-cream for kiddos starting at 5pm, Greek time. I really enjoyed Greek frappe for which I paid extra. To my surprise, I gor a cup full of crumchy cookies with choco which was a nice addition to my coffee. Another point to make would be attractions on the island itself. Taking into account the fact that the Aeolis Thassos Palace is situated among hills & olive trees, there aren't many shops to be encountered in close proximity. However, this isn't a disadvantage at all, you can order a taxi from the hotel and choose a few destinations on Thassos, to name the closest, Potos and Limenaria. The latter one is full of tiny shops run by locals which invite you to buy souvenirs, Greek spices, fashionnable jewellery and clothing. All you need is time and money. To relax, you can pick a seat at a harbour restaurant and choose something from the menu, fresh seafood would seem like a perfect choice. This time, I have also noticed a fancy gastro-pub at one city corner leading to the sea. With a couple of locals drinking beer and having an afternoon chit-chat. What to want more in life, right? Panagia is another town worth visiting on our Thassos holidays for it has a love bridge to light an eternal flame in our relationship/marriage and instill respect for each other. Futhermore, the city takes pride in oil manufacturing that's why we can purchase natural olive oil based products ranging from dry body oil to hair strengthening oil at a very reasonable price. As crazy as it might sound, the real beauty of Panagia is seen in some narrow streets going up the hill sometimes, and tiny patisseries scattered in the neighbourhood with multi-coloured cake displays & irresistable baking smell coming out its main pastry stoves. It all adds to a final impression as a whole. Apparently, Panagia's inhabitants love and cultivate art which is expressed in house decorations e.g. A Snowhite with a bunch of dwarfs, Bambi or Swans sitting proudly on the edge of the porch or a balcony. To make a long story short, Panagia is unlike any place I have seen in the world. More importantly, its uniqueness should be preserved and kept for future generations. All in all, I highly recommend a stay at Aeolis Thassos Palace for they have exceptional service and always make sure you enjoy your stay. Everything is well-organised, clean, neat & you can get the feel of living on Thassos island. Breathtaking views & sunny weather are just another attraction, with the sun setting or raising right in the earrly morning. It's a perfect site to escape everyday struggles, unwind with a glass of local wine and recharge peacefully for a couple of colder months ahead. Do consider staying at Aeolis Thassos Palace for it's an ideal gatewaway destination. I would also want to extend many thanks to the Manager of the Aeolis Thassos Palace Hotel for running the place with care and paying attention to cleaniness of the rooms, accomodating staff, all health-care protocols in a pandemic, i.e. all the measures taken to make my stay an unforgettable experience. I truly admire your dedication and understand all the challenges you have had faced this season. Yet, you have excelled at providing safety and evoking an atmosphere of relaxation. A big thank you.…
We had a family holiday for 1 week in the Aeria hotel (3 star) which shares all the amenities from the Aeolis Thassos Palace hotel (4 star). I really liked the Aeria hotel bungalows: clean, big enough, nicely furnished, in good condition, with nice balcony (upper floors) with lovely sea view. Felt more like 4 star! The meals were good: a little basic, but I appreciated the good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. The service was really great: Yannis was a pleasure to meet at meal times and my wife called him, "Amazing with people!" He was pleasant, had a good sense of humour and great with children. When a little girl accidentally broke a plate instead of getting frustrated he reassured her that it was totally fine and made a nice flower from a napkin, scented it and gave it to her. We all clapped! The front desk ladies were also really delightful and helpful. Especially, Svetlana, who treated us as if we were part of her family: lending us some cash, offering help and being always very willing and empathic. The nearest beach is about 150 steps down to a cosy cove. There are a few sun loungers and umbrellas for free. Was never crowded, recommend shoes to go in the sea, though. A taxi takes you to another nearby beach: much nicer but more crowded. Trips around the island are a must. It's an ideal location to get around the best sights. We rented a car directly from our travel agency, Fischer. The manager, Demitris was really fair and had good customer skills. Our favourite beaches were: Alyki and Elia which have good attractions around. Theologos is also a must: beautiful village in the mountains with wonderful hikes: nearby are some cascading waterfalls where you can go for a dip if you can handle cold water (a mere 10C), which my daughter could and totally recommends it (but not for me!!!). In the village there is a lovely shop with intricate and nice hand made souvenirs (the lovely lady there was actually Jannis' wife!!! and his sister had a unique shoe shop just down the road!!!). Thassos is unique that it is not so commercial and has a 'family' feeling to it. Once we missed the hotel taxi, so we asked a lady who owned a restaurant for a number to get a taxi and she dropped us off at our hotel instead and refused any payment! A big THANK YOU to Yannis and Svetlana for making our stay pleasant and enjoyable.…
The first time we went to Aeolis Thassos Palace was in 2015 and we fell in love with this place straight away. Since then we have gone there several times as we feel that there is no place in the world where you could enjoy your free time better than there, surrounded by stunning views with peace and quiet and delicious food served by people who do their best to make you feel important. The thing that makes us come back is also a relaxed atmosphere with no crowds at the pools, you can always find free space to spend your time either at the pool or at the beach. Smooth music played quietly at the pool helps to chill out and forget about the outside world. What is also important to us is that the ladies taking care of our rooms always left them spick and span and were at the same time very discreet trying to fit in our plans. As they say people create the place and I strongly believe that it wouldn’t be the same without the team working at this hotel, our special thanks to Yannis, Efi, Foteini and Christine for their smile every single day, professional attitude and their time!…
This summer was our second stay at Aeolis Thassos Palace and we choose it for the second time because we had an amazing experience. The rooms are big and clean, very comfortable. Also the food was excellent, very fresh and diverse according that i have a 4 years old kid with allergy and everything was good during our stay. Every staff member i encount, from the valet to the check-in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help, great attitude, helpful and always avaible. The resort has a great location with a breath taking view . I can say that is a place where you can experience a peace of mind. We had a wonderful stay and i highly recommend this nice hotel.
Me and my girlfriend we choose by luck that hotel and was an amazing choice. Friendly stuff, clean, big and nice room. Very good and big breakfast. This one that took our heart was the view. This view is amazing. I recommend it, especially for couples. And is worth to wake up early to see the sunrise. We will visit it again for sure.
Spending time here was absolutely fantastic: - The best food I have ever had in a hotel restaurant. - Very nice, helpfull and professional staff. - Breathtaking sea view from almost every place you can sit. My special thanks belongs to Yannis. He brings some kind of beatiful magic to this place. Many thanks 😊😊😊
A very good hotel with a wonderful dining room and breakfast each morning was ample and delicious. Much to choose from. The room was quiet, spacious, and comfortable and our balcony overlooked the sea. Sunsets with the Samothraki Island in the foreground are memories to last a lifetime. The staff here was great. The waiters were exceptional. The cleanliness was very professional and discreet. We tried the bar every evening was wonderful. Very nice, spacious lobby area. We were perfectly content with our lodging during our 7 days stay in Thassos.
Undoubtedly, Hotel Aeolis Thassos Palace is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in my short life. Having visited many countries so far, it is both, Thassos island along with this superb, modern, tourist-oriented hotel which have captured my heart with a few things you cannot find anywhere else in the world. When I say this, I mean its fabulous location on a beautiful hill, being surrounded by olive trees in close proximity to the Aegean Sea as well as Giola lagoon – the pride of Thassos known as a natural rocky pool in the region of Astris with the height of its rocks reaching up to 8 metres where the swimmers can dive into the clear waters. As a matter of fact, it is only a five-minute walk from the hotel, do wear comfortable shoes though as high-heels are not highly recommended. :) Beach lovers will definitely be excited to find two spots in the neighbourhood, a wild one to the left of the swiming pools /built seperately for kids & adults / and a few minute drive arranged by the hotel staff to the public beach /free-of-charge of course/ which is spacious, neat, full of comfortable sunbeds you can hire for the entire day, and have your towers looked to by local people. A so-called paradise for freshly squeezed juice enthusiasts served non-stop with other drinks e.g. cold Greek frappe, beer, mohito etc. throughout the day. You simply cannot get bored out there, on Thassos. Just get the feel of the place, bring your favourite bikini or swimming trunks, a pair of your best sunglasses, a sunblock or your favourite book to read in the shade. If need be, you can connect to the internet instantly, either in the hotel or on the beach. Don't you dare to deprive yourself of seeing a true beauty, the island of Thassos. It is a place which combines the sea with the mountains in a very fascinating way. Its nature and scenery are captivating as the entire island is covered with pine trees from which honey is manufactured. The island's running water comes from its own mineral springs. Thassos takes pride in its local products e.g. olives, olive oil, honey and wine. Apparently, it's another advantage for people who value a healthy lifestyle and wish to visit an attractive travelling destination in terms of food. And again, it's Hotel Aeolis Thassos Palace leading on this subject pretty well for they offer exquisite, traditional cuisine full of nutrients and vitamins. You will feel the joy of trying new, delicious meals as well as desserts carefully prepared by a team of professional chefs to whom good taste and texture is a top priority as a way of pampering you on your holidays and giving you priceless memories of what the food should be really like. Local red or white wine to dinner/supper was a surprising bonus. In addition, I admired to sit outside on the patio with hot coffee or choco in my hand, talking to a friend while looking at the sunrays illimunate on water just before my eyes. Or binge on a few pieces of fresh, juicy watermelon/melon after dinner. A dream come true. I jumped for joy seeing such a wide range of fresh fruit, and especially real Greek olives & feta cheese neatly displayed in the fancy canteen with beautiful wooden tables and an ample patio welcoming you to eat outside! As far as the management of the hotel is concerned, I loved the fact that the hotel staff were coming out of their way to make me feel important as a tourist and trying to help me out in anything I needed on a daily basis. Highly-motivated, friendly receptionists, engaged in their work, with a good command of English, willing to answer any type of questions I had, and being in a completely new place I seemed to have many. :) Impeccable service, clean, neat rooms and shiny bathrooms with at least two towels for each person. Trust me, I always pay attention to the way a place is managed or run for it says a lot about its owner. My balanced overall assessment is 10/10. Congratulations! My friend and I had this all-inclusive option with an open bar up till 10pm each day. Although we did not spend much time in the hotel at day, we got back for the evening and sat near the bar to have a chit-chat, mostly on nicely designed sofas, and a drink. Ironically, the music playing was easy on the ear and you could have an entertaining conversation without being tempted to scream out loud like you do in many cafes back where I live. The hotel's bar is nicely designed with an ample countertop viewing the two swimming pools, amazingly illuminated at night. Surely, we had had a few exchanges with the bartenders, mostly females, but just to learn something about locals and the island itself. No serious conversations, so to speak. As for kids, Hotel Aeolis Thassos Palace has a nice playground, two beaches nearby, ice-cream to be bought at the bar. It's more about what you decide to do with your family on your days off. For instance, you can hire a car and travel to Alyki Bay, a smaller town called Panagia which offers great, tasty coffee, various shops with best spices are to be found there as well. Limenaria is worth a visit. Or up Noth, the capital of Thassos called: Limenas. I sincerely recommend this hotel to anybody who dreams of escaping a stressful life in the city and is hoping to find peace and quiet in pristine nature, undiscovered nature of Thassos island which has a great deal to offer to busy city dwellers. A place you will never forget because of its charm, spectacular sunsets, a warm climate, crystal clear waters and hospitality of Greek people who want to make sure you have had the best time of your life in Greece. And more imporantly, you come back again and again! Don't hesitate to visit Hotel Aeolis Thassos Palace this year or any year to come. It's waiting for you with open arms!…
