Pleasant service workers, owner, tasty dishes, good prices. Hotel is near beach (150 m). We had no problems there. Good cleaning. Not far from Kavala airport. We came from Vilnius, Lithuania with fly. Tourist company safely and comfortably brought us here and returned. Ефхaрiсто.
Astris Sun is a nice quiet hotel. Great pool , also for kids. They have a good restaurant, with fresh and tasty food. It is a solution for the evenings when you are not in the mood to go out. The staff is very nice and always ready to help and provide anything you need There is a market nearby with ice cream, cigarettes and refreshments. The rooms were cleaned every day, towels changed every 2 days. Our room was on the ground floor.
The rooms were ok. Not the most luxurious, but they were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Even though it was pretty much the same every morning, they had enough stuff to choose from so you could alternate daily. The staff was super friendly and helpful. By far the best thing about Astris Sun. The hotel is 2 minutes away from one of the most underrated beaches in Thassos. Overall, it was well worth the price and I totally recommend, especially for young couples, students and people who are not booking a hotel just for its luxury.
This hotel has a great location near Psili Ammos beach. It is very esthetically pleasing from the outside, nice and open lobby, friendly front desk. We decided to stay here 3 weekends ago after they showed us a very modern and clean room. We didn’t have a reservation. No complaints on this stay. 3 weekends later we decide to stay again since we enjoyed our stay the first time. We booked a room with the same price that we payed the first time, ahead of time over a internet travel agency. We arrived early and they told us to wait about 1 hour before our room was ready. We decided to come back later to take advantage of the beach. We returned at around 10pm tired from the sun. We went up to our room and what a horror it was. It was nothing like the first room that we stayed or any of the pictures from the internet travel site. The bathroom was filthy and the room was very outdated, dark and depressing. Definitely not what we were expecting. Because of the lateness of the time we decided to stay and just leave as early as we can to be able to forget this horrible room and enjoy our day. At checkout they told us that they gave us the “standard room” which just means not updated since we booked online. We told them that they should place the room that we stayed at out of circulation due to the anti hygienic condition of the bathroom. This place is acceptable only if you stay in their updated rooms otherwise stay far away.…
The house of horror can say that it was, of course we could not sleep there, we left at night and returned in the morning to hand over the key. I paid with the card and I couldn't get my money back. a very bad experience and I hope no one arrives at this hotel "Astris"
I haven't seen a worse hotel. Disgusting food uniform, dirty room and bathroom, dirty pool. Small and old room! The hotel does not meet the prices it offers. Food is a chicken leg with rice, for example. Breakfast is the same every day, there is nothing to eat from it. Desserts are a ball of cheap ice cream The receptionist was a cook too! Unkind staff and poor service.
Couple staying in Room 106 Pros: - breakfast buffet 5€ & dinner buffet 8€ - not too bad, but not too great either (if you order from menu, instead, you get far better food) - quiet pool/back garden - close to the beach - fly/mosquito net door at the balcony Cons: - broken, barely hanging freezer - used shower and the drain got cloged, when we checked in (got resolved afterwards) - not so clean pool (little bits of debree and insects in it) - the door knob was loose and moving when we got here but it got fixed - insects at the pool place(flies and mosquitos) - best if you go to the beach, it's like 50m away, if you want to avoid pesky bites - unventilated bathroom, though it has its own ventialion system but it's clogged and dusty and barely handles it Observations: - A special new fee was introduced, that we've found out about at the hotel (translated from romanian, in which it was written): "Dear clients, beginning with the 2018 season, the station fee has been added, which is mandatory. The station tax is per room and is paid during check-in and it is 0.5€/night/room." - need to fully close the balcony door to start the AC - there should be an evacuation plan in case of emergencies on every back of entrance doors of the rooms of the hotel (room 106 misses this) …
Visited the property as part of my round trip of Thassos. The stuff were very helpfully till the point i was charged for a so called city taxes. I was asked to pay only in cash and when i checked my booking confirmation which had on my phone city taxes were included. Then trip advisors has the property as 3 stars, booking.com as 2 stars. Which one is it? Then we entered the room and it was clean and new looking with a decent size balcony. We didn’t get the garden view as we were promised but instead we had the garbage instead. We were not that bothered for any of that as much as the lies. We had NO hot water. And for me thats a must. We complain at the reception and we were told that “its normal as all people come back at the same time from the beach and they shower” well we checked and tried to shower morning/midday/afternoon and evening. Nothing really. No hot water at all. So in total our experience was a bit bitter.…
Keep away from that latrina ! Everything is the worst thing that you have traveled !!! The most smollest rooms I ever seen , the “ food “ is maybe for the pigs. The bathroom have 3 mp surface, UNBELIEVABLE !!! In the space is the land of mosquitoes, in every “ room “ are dozens!!! This is the Hell !!! This is the reality about this latrina , believe me. THE SHAME OF GREECE !!!
We went to a Greek night Saturday for Dinner and had perfect meals at the astris sun. The meals and the food was perfect, well spiced, well made and with lots of love by the chef ! It was life cooking and the service is easy going. Family run hotel with Perfect atmosphere you felt the love by the staff. I even danced with the owners which was a lot of fun. Sometimes they also have a traditional dance team for a Greek night but it was easy for the hotel staff to get us going. By the way I have to mention the perfect cocktails made fresh by the bar. They appear with fire works which I Haven’t had for ages. I felt perfect that night. I thank everyone for this very cool stay at the Astris Sun.
