This was our 7th Neilson holiday and as usual we had a great time. It was our first visit to Messini and despite a couple of niggles we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as always down to the wonderful staff and facilities. Surprisingly on arrival, there was none of the free welcome drinks or nibbles to greet us as we had received in previous resorts which was a shame as it is always a nice welcoming touch. We had booked a deluxe garden room which was spacious for the three of us and in a wonderful beach front location. The decor was a bit tired with a couple of water stains on the floor and walls but it was cleaned to a high standard daily by a lovely local lady. The welcome meeting was great fun and sign up pain free the following morning. It was good to see Charlie the resort host again. The bar area was lovely although the sound equipment positioning made it sometimes difficult to hear what was being said. George the Greek waiter in particular was a wonderful character who entertained us all holiday. The kids pool area was again a bit tired and in need of refurbishing but there was great entertainment from the fitness staff and kids clubs. They do need to clean the pool area better; although it was swept every morning, the tables and sun-beds were not cleaned, the astro turf areas not brushed and the pool itself was cloudy and the water not as clear as it should have been. The restaurant and food was great and again the staff lovely. We took part in numerous beach activities and thanks to Adam, Alex and Naomi for the sailing and Ash and Alex for the windsurfing. The fitness team were great especially Rosie and Maori (sorry for the spelling). As always our tennis improved thanks to the great tennis team, nice to see Ami and Tommy again! Whilst in Messini we had some friends in the Neilson adults only hotel next door at Buca. When we chatted about their facilities and ours we were disappointed to realise that they were receiving a better service than the guests at Missini. A small example being the supply of robes and slippers in their rooms and champagne sized cocktails in Mix and Mingle rather than a medicine cup full which we had been given. Whether at Buca or Messini we all pay a premium price for a luxury holiday and we don’t expect a lesser service just because we are in the hotel with children. Not really on that Neilson. Just a couple of points that need to be rethought perhaps but overall another wonderful holiday. Just need to decide where to next year!

What struck me first of all was how helpful the staff were - across all areas it’s clear the people love what they do! The resort is a hive of sporting activities. We tried sailing, waterskiing, kayaking, SUP, gym sessions. There plenty more with cycling and tennis to add in. You can pick what you do or just chill and relax. Fantastic facilities, kids clubs galore, food was amazing and will definitely return to Neilson.

Our second visit to Messini and our second Neilson holiday...this year we booked for a week ( last year did two ) and had just as good an experience. Our 13 year old got stuck straight into Surf Squad and made some great new friends. Last year we participated in beach activities - did our Level 1 dinghy sailing, this year with just a week we opted for land based activities tennis and fitness, also took out some bikes. My one suggestion would be a second pool - it is so noisy in the afternoon by the pool but with the beach so close by it is well worth heading down there with a lovely breeze and views of the afternoon regattas. Our daughter loved the waterskiing and the tuition was great. We also used the spa for some great massage treatments. The food and beverage has improved from last year and as ever the Pool Bar was fun but bills can really mount up ! Staff were excellent - and it was lovely to be welcomed and greeted by staff like old friends - George in the Pool Bar, Alexandra and the girl in the shop who had worked in the pool bar the previous year. We did experience a malfunction with our air conditioning which was sorted, Will definitely return!

Messini is great Neilson resort. Hotel rooms in cubes are brilliant. We had a garden sea view and it was perfect for us and two children. Kids club (sharksters) was so good, our boys had a ball and met some lovely friends. Food in the buffet was good and breakfast was lovely.

This is the first time family and I have been on a Neilson Holiday and it was fantastic. Accommodation was great - we had a garden sea view = two balconies great for relaxing with beer/G&T overlooking the sea and mountains early evening. Food was very good. We stayed for 2 weeks and sure the food does repeat but the quality was great and no issues for us. The real benefit of the holiday was the activities and the staff. Both were first class. My kids (9 &11) usually don't join in kids clubs - but we put them in hotshots for the first week and they loved it so much they demanded they join the second week. Neither had sailed before or shown any interest but achieved RYA L3. They also played on paddle boards/canoes etc. The kids team were excellent - having the equipment is one thing but having a team to make the activities fun is another and this team did a fantastic job. I cycled mostly - sometimes in groups and sometimes alone in which case I downloaded the Strava routes the team created. The Road MTB were great and cycle routes as demanding as you wanted (green = easy to Black = hard). Second week learnt to sail and achieved the RYA L1 which was great. The sailing instructors were really good Internet wise - hit and miss. To download anything best do overnight when most users sleeping - but otherwise ok for simple browsing new during day. Overall fantastic holiday - kids loved it as did the adults and Neilson have hit the mark with the blend of relaxation/activities for you.
