Neilson staff all round did a great job. Food was excellent - absolutely tonnes of variety at breakfast and lunch buffets, then the a la carte dinners were DELICIOUS. Very Generous portions and really slick service. Hospitality staff were really really professional but also flexible - they worked to find us tables when we were early for our bookings etc even when the restaurant was busy. I didn't have a single bad meal. Room was big and had a super king bed. They fixed a maintenance issue quickly and no fuss. The cleaning was spot on - fresh towels seemingly whenever we wanted them. Beach team were great - loved the sailing with Suzy. Cycling routes were good lengths and challenge and the bikes were in good condition. We got a carbon bike when the others of the right size were all gone at no extra cost which was good of them. Cant wait to come on another neilson holiday they all did a wonderful job. Thank you!

Just returned from lovely 2 week break at the Buca part of Buca Neilson. Food fantastic, lovely breakfast and lunch buffets managed in a COVID safe way plus tasty a la carte on4 nights and a wonderful sea food buffet. Swimming pool for adults great with plenty sun beds and stretch beach accessible and easy to swim in. Plus of course all the normal Neilson activities. Staff really friendly. It is a bit more out of the way, but couple local tavernas and some great trips, personally did trip to Ancient Messini and Olive Oil tasting. Both included local taverna meals, great Greek food. It was probably half full when I went , so bar in evening bit quiet but that’s down to COVID. Everywhere felt very clean and safe and of course with Greek weather you are outside most of the time!

Spent a really chilled and relaxing week at Buca – much needed – I don’t think we realised how much till we got there! The pool and pool-side beds were amazing (and kid-free! Bless their noisy little hearts.) The other kid-friendly Neilson hotel is a short walk down the beach and you can go there too if you feel like a livelier atmosphere (we did for a quiz one night) and they have a shop there where you can sign things to your room at Buca which is handy. The food was lovely (excellent a la carte menu in the evenings) as were all the staff – so friendly and helpful and seemed incredibly happy to have guests back. The Covid precautions were very thoughtfully done, especially around the buffet area, so you felt looked after but it wasn’t made constantly top of mind. I had wondered what the score would be for the non-inclusive nights as I couldn’t see a main village ‘hub’ but basically, everything seems sited along the edge of the very long bay, so you walk in either direction from the hotel and you reach clusters of local tavernas. We took a short cab ride to eat out in Messini one night which was lovely and buzzy – again, everyone was sooo friendly. A few people strongly recommended taking a trip into Kalamata too which has more to see, but we sort of ran out of time. Would probably try that next time. PS – the very short transfer and relatively short flight meant we were there before lunch on arrival day. Felt like we got an extra day, tbh – worth the early start.

A wonderful place to relax. The rooms were lovely - we had a sea view - and very clean. Showers are fantastic. Buca was quieter than Messini Beachclub, expected as it’s adults-only, but the staff still put on multiple activities during the week and all the sports are available. The quiz was a highlight. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a holiday where you can chill out in the quiet by the pool yet also do various sports. The restaurant is also worth mentioning as the A La Carte menu was high end. All the staff were lovely, no faults for this hotel. Would definitely go again.

Didn’t plan it but last minute opportunity and so glad we went. Lovely bar and kitchen staff serving the best food I’ve had on a Neilson holiday! (Would recommend the bio white wine it’s fantastic). Great set up to relax on loungers around the pool or beach. Tried out the water sports and all way great fun - flat calm mornings and wavier, windier afternoons so suits both. Tennis was good fun and all activities staff super friendly and good value as always. Was v hot when we went so didn’t attempt the bikes. Local area: walkable village with a few tavernas and beach bars all serving nice and simple food. Messini town about 15 mins in a taxi and had plenty to choose from food wise, had a great meal out here. Kalamata around 30 mins away but we didn’t get round to exploring - too much else to do in resort! All in all a lovely 10 days away - Buca by far the most relaxing and peaceful Neilson!
