We arrived in mid July and was the first hotel guests for the season due to many cancellations due to covid19 so we had this lovely hotel for our sole use for our 1st week and have to say although a little strange we enjoyed it very much.
The hotel was kept spotlessly clean with the staff constantly wiping down tables, chairs, handles as soon as customers had vacated them, and all this while wearing mask & gloves in 90 degree heat they deserve a medal and special mention has to go to Vaso, Oliyer and Eva who looked after us so so well and I must not forget the young lady who got our room spotless, again all while wearing full ppe head to foot.
Our room was on the 2nd floor (208) and had a great view overlooking the sea and came with a double and single bed which was very comfortable. The room was equipped with a flat screen tv, Fridge, safe hairdryer and plenty of storage for clothes etc.
The pool was again kept lovely and clean with loads of sunbeds and you could also hire a mattress for the beds for 1 euro which I thought was a bit penny pinching when you resident of the hotel.
We ate at the hotel a few times during the day and everything was ok but never ate there at night as it was a bit quite maybe due to the strange times when we visited.
We loved our stay at the Valais and the staff were excellellent but have to say I found the drinks a little expensive especially when you can buy the same drinks just up the road for half the price and again it maybe the reason the bar was empty at night.

Thank you very much for spending your holiday with us and also for your review You looked into your comment about the 1euro for the use of a mattress and you are right since you are a resident it should be free so we are changing that immediately Now as for our drinks being more expensive than up the road we need to say that all our staff as you mentioned before for all the excellent work they do , they are paid and they are fully insured for the work they do,also as you know yourself we give out receipts with everything that we serve in our snack-bar restaurant so we pay tax to our government as we should be ,we take pride for our alcoholic drinks and beers we serve because you get what you ask for and not some other kind ,for example(Smirnoff is Smirnoff and Mythos on draught is Mythos and not the cheap greek beer Zorba) We hope to see you again soon and again thank you very much for your comments

It's been a LONG time since I've been here (2004 was my last visit although I had been on the island since then) so when visiting this year, I had to make a nostalgia trip this time.

I was so happy we went. There's been some big improvements to the place since 2004. The pool is large, the food is great, the beds and seating are comfortable and the variety of drinks is exceptional.

My only gripe is that as a non-resident, you have to pay €6 per person, per day, to use the pool, beds and WiFi. That doesn't sound like much, but over the course of a 2 week holiday, that's an extra €144 you'd need to save for. Plus when we paid for the access, we were told we'd get a pass, but then wasn't given anything and wasn't given the WiFi password. People were walking in and out of the pool area freely, but there was no way to identify who had paid and who hadn't paid to use it (something like a wrist band or a tag to put on your swimwear would be a good idea and stop people using it without paying).

Prices for the food and drinks was in same cases on par with the nearby premises, but in others unreasonably more expensive (for example, Carbonara was €14 but can be purchased elsewhere for around €9.50 to €10, and a Gyros plate was €15 but can again be bought elsewhere for around €9.50 to €10). Their fresh/healthy smoothies are devine and a must try!!

I love that they are located on the sea front, so the view is stunning. It's also quite quiet there despite being on a road so it really is a peaceful place to go.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but are here regularly during our visit to Zante. The pool bar is available to use for non residents and is very good.
Dinner in the evenings, watching the sun set is fantastic. Julie was very attentive and helpful and the quality and price of the meals we had was very inexpensive for the quality and quantity. Highly recommended!

On my first visit to Zante I was fortunate enough to come across the Valais Hotel and decided, should I visit Zante again, that this would be where I stayed the next time I visited. The family that run this hotel are amazing. They are so kind, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel has the most perfect location right on the beach with the most fabulous views across the ocean . The pool is amazing and the food is wonderful. I absolutely love this hotel and will never stay anywhere else in Zante. Kat and George are the most wonderfully welcoming and helpful hosts imaginable. Guests staying here return year after year. To me, this hotel has an old world charm where the pace is slow, the location is beyond ideal and where the hosts treat you like family.

Lovely family run hotel which was spotlessly clean and offered a wide range of excellent food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure we had the best stay possible. The pool was huge and also clean. The hotel is right on the beach with private sunbeds and a great selection of water sports which were very reasonably priced. We had the perfect holiday and will definitely be back next year!

We didn't actually stay at the hotel as we were at Danny's. We visited this lovely hotel several times whilst staying in Alakanas, had several meals which were delicious and really well priced. Great choice of drinks too. The pool is lovely and all staff were very friendly and welcoming. Just rebooked so see you all again in 3 weeks.

Stayed at the Valais Hotel it’s pretty basic but clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful, food in their restaurant is ok a bit more expensive than other places, the swimming pool and sun beds are good, the sun beds on the beach are good as well.

If you are a early to bed person book a room on the road side of the hotel as on the garden side you get loud music from the Mill Bar next door three times a week when they have their tribute night acts.

I would recommend this hotel it’s only a five minute walk to Alykanas town for the shops and bars etc.

We had drinks at the pool bar and terrace, it was all very well organised and they hand out some very fine treats with a drink of an evening. Top marks and thank you very much for working so hard at making everything perfect. See you next year
