We stayed in June of 2019 and had a very pleasant experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, our room was amazing: large clean space, furnished in an upscale rustic way, wooden beams on ceiling, spacious comfortable bed, kitchenette corner, seating inside and outside on a very large terra cotta tiled veranda that allowed you to take in the spectacular mountain view. The village has a main building that provides a place to relax in various living rooms and verandas and play board games (looks like a stone villa, with impeccable furnishings and art on walls), a restaurant with sweeping mountain views under the trees (it was exquisite) and a pool area with a large infinity pool overlooking the mountains. I will not soon forget the views of the vultures in the distance majestically circling the rocky mountains from all vantage points. If you like organic fresh local food, you can eat at Enagron every night, the dining terrace is splendid. The food and drink are reasonably priced and very high quality. I think it is best to stay there at night as you can drink your wine and enjoy views then walk back to your room, driving around at night is not a recommended there. So plan day trips, (if you can tear yourself away from the place), but spend eves there. The breakfast buffet is gigantic and all is locally sourced and fresh. My partner eats gluten free and they provided a specially baked bread for him, lots of food options for any diet, meat, vegetarian, vegan etc. We ate our way through menu and all was tasty. I also used the spa services, the therapist there (MaryKelly) was very skilled. I had three treatments and it was especially relaxing as the spa is semi-open air and you are receiving the treatments in nature. She uses only organic oils and products. Book treatments as soon as you can, as it gets full. There is a tiny shop that sells herbs, teas, olive oil, honey, vinegars, jams and natural cosmetics at Enagron. I wish I had bought more, the prices are similar to other places in Crete and the products are artfully packaged and high quality. We found that Enagron provides excellent value for the price. We came from Southern California and such "nature spa retreat villages" cost an arm and a leg and miss the mark often. Lastly, we partook of some activities such as a farm walk and a cooking class (included in price). We can highly recommend Enagron. Do not hesitate if you want to relax and chill in a splendid natural cadre in a sophisticated but traditional environment. It can't be beat! We spoke to many guests from Europe that agreed on value/price and quality of service and all around enjoyment. Think Tuscan eco-retreat at a much cheaper price (to give you an idea).

A most enjoyable cultural and gastronomic experience in one of Crete’s areas renowned for its characteristic landscape and wildlife. In our opinion, the very elements that constitute a happy traveler’s ‘bible’ are: hospitality, scenery, excellent food, services and cultural values. Enagron Ecotourism Village encompasses all the above, in a manner that displays a bright example of the perfect ‘village’! The villas of Enagron built in a serene environment, provide all the essentials for a comfortable stay and have the chance to experience the traditional Cretan way of life and unique cultural & culinary values. The owners, have managed to put together over the years a most remarkable collection of articles dating back to centuries ago. The kitchen cook lady, Eirini, provides a range of the famous Cretan Cuisine dishes, that the visitors will recall with nostalgia after they leave. The breakfast is sumptuous and served under the shades of trees, well attended by the friendly stuff. Of course, the highlight of dinner is the famous ‘antikristo’, goat meat on a spit in a circle. All dishes are paired with a fine list of local wines. The Enagron is located in a region that is renowned for its cultural sites, which may be reached on foot or on donkeys under the guidance of experienced personnel. The swimming pool is a wonderful experience and should not be missed. A definite comeback ❗️👌

Enagron is based on a concept of organic food and sustainable living without compromising taste or beauty. The places is build as a village in the mountains with plenty of air between the rooms and apartments. Fantastic views and wildlife and a female chef who rules the kitchen and creates fabulous meals both with meat or vegetarian if you prefer. I can highly recommend spending time at this Cretan oasis, both for families (lovely pool also a small one for children) or couples or even on your own. You can borrow one of their well kept mountainbikes and go sightseeing in the area by yourself if you don't have a car at hand.

We spend some time at the Enagron every year. The surrounding nature, the cosy apartments and of course the excellent and tasty food - much of it grown on the property or local - are something we never get tired of. We like the peace and quiet in May or September. We love watching the vultures from our balcony in the morning, the walks in the gorge, visiting the nearby village of Anogeia and a daily dip in the swimming pool. But it is the staff at Enagron that keeps us coming back over and over again. Please thank the wonderful Aphrodite and especially Mary, who is always helpful and friendly, those ladies are Enagron! Can't wait to be back next year!
