Booked for a work trip as I had grown tired of the surrounding mid level hotels. I was running late and tried to phone. Phone number not working. Arrived at 8pm to a pitch black building with signs saying "bar/restaurant closed". Reception was closed (lights off, screen locked) just a list of numbers. I had just travelled 3 hours and arrived by taxi. Needless to say I didn't stay. Got the taxi to take me straight back to premier inn. And because I used my debit card to book, I have since been charged 200 pounds for my non stay. If this is how they run a business it is frankly DISGUSTING. No phone call from them to enquire where I was or to inform me when booking that the bar and restaurant would be closed. I know covid is causing a lot of strife, but this is NOT how you run a business if you wish to stay afloat in the off season. I am absolutely FUMING

I am astounded by the description of 'Top Rated' this is a total misrepresentation. Even giving generous allowance for difficulties in running a hotel during the Covid crisis this is a very poor establishment . It is ramshackled, in desperate need of repair and redecoration with old an old and tired mattress on the bed. The only positive is the reasonable size of the room. WiFi does not work, the bathroom shower head cannot be fixed in place, the shower curtain is crusted with mould and unbelievably the basin taps alternate between which is hot and which is cold at random intervals. Admittedly the price is cheap and I wasn't expecting luxury but it would be unfair to other trip advisor readers to recommend nothing but avoid this outdated poor advertisement for staying in Cornwall.

I stayed here for a couple of nights prior to the lockdown for work purposes. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and fairly comfortable though there were some issues with the hot water and the bed was a bit soft for my liking. The hot water issue was sorted as soon as it was mentioned. Breakfast was plentiful. All in all a pleasant stay, great staff and in all likelihood I will be back there again.

It has been a while since we have been here, it is really good for young children with indoor and outdoor play areas. The food however is average pub food but with pleasant service. Free children’s meal when you spend over a certain amount on an adult meal.

Met some family here for lunch today, we were a table of 7 From start to finish we had a great time , very friendly and welcoming and the food was faultless. Some of us had carvery and some ordered from the main menu . The kids meals were really good value for money and quite a decent portion size too, my husband had a mixed grill and wow! He said everything was cooked perfectly. The carvery was delicious too, everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The waitresses were all lovely and its great that there are amusements for children to keep them occupied before and after food , great place X
