We have stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and rebooked specifically as we thought it was so good. The location for us is ideal .. there’s a short walk down a bank to the town, and steps down to the fabulous Falesia beach. All the staff work hard and are super friendly and helpful; nothing is too much trouble. We had a room with a seaview which was fantastic, the apartment was modern, well laid-out, and cleaned everyday.. There is plenty of choice of restaurants in the area, and bar/restaurant on site with great food. Overall it is the staff that make the difference and this is seen across every aspect of the hotel and that’s why we will not hesitate to rebook

Just came back from our stay at the Falesia Garden and wanted to write about what a gem this place is. It was our first trip to Portugal & to the Algarve. We haven't done a package holiday for 20 years but with a two year old and Covid, the ease and flexibility of it really appealed this time. The Falesia Garden was a last minute pick after we had to cancel a hotel in La Palma because of the volcanic eruption. Tui were fantastic from start to finish with bookings, airport transfers info etc. Didn't really know what to expect, but this hotel is such a gem. We picked it partly because having the space of an apartment really helps with young kids and it was good value as well. The staff were all without fail completely welcoming, friendly & helpful, especially with our toddler who got smiles and chat everywhere. The hotel and grounds were all spotlessly cleaned and maintained; for anyone worried about Covid, the measures were more than I've ever seen in the UK. Everything cleaned and sanitized regularly, masks etc. It never felt intrusive though. The location is amazing, perched on a cliff with incredible views, sunsets and easy access to a beach a few minutes walk away down some steps (what a beach, wow) Top tip would be on the rooms & blocks. We had a deluxe with "side sea view" in block 8. The deluxe apartments have all been refurbished and look much nicer. The sea view was worth paying for, the side view is just as good but a lot of the other blocks with "standard" apartments look out over a road so are less impressive (you can get a feel for this from GoogleMaps). Go for an upper floor if possible (note only some of the blocks have lifts so with checking). Tui didn't advertise any of this so worth emailing the hotel directly if important to you. Inside, the apartments are spacious and great value. Bring washing up liquid and tea towels etc though because they have minimal things provided. We stayed in the second week of October and the weather was perfect, 24-26 degrees every day, not a cloud in the sky. The sea was warm and the pool felt warm enough for me with a slight chill getting in that passed immediately. It would have been even better if they could heat the pool by a degree or two but our toddler found it fine as long as they weren't in for two long. Apart from the weather, October was great because the resort was quiet - probably half full - and there were no issues with queuing, getting shade or sun loungers or anything else. We also didn't see many flies or wasps or mosquito's, it was lovely. No complaints about the food - you are getting a buffet so expect that and you either like them or you don't. With young children it made things super easy and we still ate out for lunches. The was loads of choice at breakfast and dinner but unfortunately no "fresh cook grill" section for steaks, omelets fish etc. That said the quality was great, especially dinner where there were two types of fish most nights, as well as pizza, pasta, salads (and loads more). They served the local specialty "Cataplana" one night with giant king prawns, which was as good as anything we ate out. The views from the dining area and terrace are so lovely as well - it was easy to sit outside with the view not crammed inside a dining room like you sometimes get with buffet hotels. The other guests were very friendly as well and it seems to attract young families and older couples mostly, but there were also some younger couples and groups. It had a chilled out, considerate vibe when we stayed which was lovely. They have a great children's play area, gardens, a tennis court and video game room. Entertainment is some live music every night at the bar but not heaps of kids clubs, parties or whatever. This suited us just fine though a small gym or outside gym would have been nice for some exercise. Not much else to say, except to go - this place is lovely! Thanks to all of the staff for our stay. Ps. one final tip - you can walk the 6km between Olhos de Agua and Vilamoura along the beach and the cliffs which makes for a good day's activity. It's not very well signposted, but you walk left along the beach from the resort for around one km until you pass the "pine cliffs" golf course and reach two sets of wooden steps going up. The second of these takes you up onto the cliffs to an easy to follow path through the pine trees to Vilamoura. If surfing's your thing, there is also board hire at this location as well, a 20 min or so walk from the hotel.

We really enjoyed our time here, dropped a point due to overall condition of the rooms, distance we had to walk each day to either get to restaurant or reception. I’d e mailed in advance asking for a sea or pool view. Prompt response to say they had logged our request but if we wanted to guarantee a particular room or view then it was approx £700 in addition to what we had already paid via Jet2holidays. We decided to chance it but we were literally given the worst block (block 12) as it’s one of the furthest away from the main facilities and our view was of a massive tree which blocked out all of the sun. The room was very dated, clean but very dated. It has to be said though, the reception area, the restaurant, the pool and the grounds were spotless and that of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast is superb, evening meal felt very repetitive so ate out on 3 nights out of 5. Erica on breakfast duties was a brilliant hotel team member, smiling and welcoming at every point. All of the staff seemed very hard working and professional. Two swimming pools, the main pool was strictly managed by the life guard, literally no fun to be had when they were around. Our 3 year old loved the small baby pool and this was where we spent our time as even my son commented on the larger pool being boring…! House keeping superb, the short walk (5 mins) to a dozen or so bars and restaurants so it was great to have these as other options to fill our time. Lovely beach down 100 or so steps from the hotel and another beach from the main resort of Olhos De Água. Summary, dated rooms so chose an updated one if I was you and stay away from blocks 8-14 as they are too far away from the facilities. If you want a pool view then book this via a travel agent as much cheaper than trying to add in directly with the hotel. We did love the resort and the hotel, just let down by our room allocation. Good choice and plenty to do in the area.

Fantastic resort. Great food and facilities especially the bar staff by the pool. They were very welcoming and provided excellent service with a smile. Fantastic service and cocktails made by Gonzalus/Goncalos ....great asset to the hotel alongside his colleagues. Staff in main restaurant were all very attentive and hard working. Drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. They're was no delay at all and great advice given reagrding different beverage options. Overall quality of buffet food at breakfast and dinner was very good. Beach is few minutes walk down some steps. Location of the property was spot on! Should definetly be a 4 star plus not a 3! Overall standards of hygiene Covid related measures etc were fantastic...felt very safe. Well done 3HB and the friendly hard working staff.

We intended to stay here for a week but in the end decided to leave after two days, due to noises in the night and a lack of things to do. The hotel was nice and the rooms were spacious and clean. There is a decent sized main pool but you are not allowed to use inflatables in it. The baby pool was really nice, it was very calm and quiet. There is a small pool side bar which sells food, but this is the only place to grab some lunch and it is not large enough to cater for all the guests, so you are often left waiting for a table. The playground (pirate ship) for the kids is absolutely brilliant and my 4year old loved it. The beach is a short walk down from the hotel and is a great day out. There are rock pools which are easy to kill an hour or two looking around and the sea is a gradual depth in, which is great for the kids. There are limited sun loungers to rent so you will need to book ahead in order to ensure you get one. We didn’t manage to get in beach restaurant as it was also fully booked so do book ahead for this also. We went for a walk to check out the local area; to say it is run down is an understatement. There are a few cafes and some rusty rides on some waste land. I see from other reviews however that they liked the area, so maybe we just didn’t walk far enough?? Overall, I would say that this is an ok hotel which would be good if you could walk into a lovely area for lunch or in the evening, but you can’t. That said, as the local area is not great, the hotel needs more; with more to do in the day and some entertainment in the evening (especially for the kids). We did find the evenings really quite depressing.
