Since Veli Mel is a 3 star hotel, I think that it was overall nice experience. The rooms are bit on the old side, but still large enough with balcony. Missed WIFI in room - it was only available at reception. The hotel is close to a beautiful beach, just a short walk away also you have a choice of second (smaller and cleaner) beach. Parking is included in the hotel price. I have no complaints, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the room was clean. Food was good. Service was nice.

Tourist village SAN MARINO consists of hotel PLAŽA, VELI MEL, SAHARA, RAB (3 star) and LOPAR (2star) pavillions and is situated on the nothern side of "paradise beach", in a beautiful pine wood, with some stunning views of the Adriatic sea. The capacity is aprox.540 rooms, air-conditioned restaurant with a bar and dance terrace, hairdressers, newspaper and gift shop. Rooms in the pavillion LOPAR offer basic service such as private shower/ WC,balcony, rooms of PLAŽA and VELI MEL have been recently rebuilt, are nicely furnished with private bath (shower, WC), phone, SAT-TV, air-conditioned and balcony; rooms of SAHARA and RAB are modern renovated and nicely furnished with private shower,SAT-TV, no balcony (only balcony door) and air-conditioned. We loved the village, because there is a lot of green all around (trees, bushes, mediterranean plants,...), particulary the beach (so called "paradise beach" - rajska plaža in croatian). It's the most famous beach on the island RAB, 1,5 km long, ideal for small kids, elder people and handicap people - for all who cannot swimm good (shallow water). The place, called LOPAR, where SAN MARINO is located, offer lots of beautiful sandy beaches, in fact there are 22 of them, of which 3 are nudist beaches (CIGANKA,SAHARA,STOLAC). The only hotel deficit is the room cleaness, the room maid could clean the room floor, beacause there is sand everywhere (e.g.in the sheets); You can reach LOPAR (san marino village) by ferry boat from island KRK, which takes 1,5 hour from VALBISKA (there is ferry boat 4 times a day) or from JABLANAC (on the mainland), which takes aprox.30 minutes and connects the island RAB several times a day. Room cleaned, bed it's comfortable. Beach available near hotel, but just for children. The water it's very hot. Food and restaurant ok for all. Personal helpful. The hotel programs its for all. Towel rack was not okay.

I am working in the hotel business and I have to say, this hotel including service, restaurant, reception and all around, is on top class. Any problem is resolved immediately, and believe me there are not many problems because whole personal is simply delivering to the guests the best experiences. It is important to mention two extraordinary persons. The receptionist Antonio, someone like this person having in any company is simply like to hit the jackpot in lottery. Friendly, professional, communicative, always with cold head when sorting the difficulty. I am writing this because we were group of 18, everyone different type of arrivals, needed to split the bills, change the rooms or anything, simply cannot say a bad word. On the other hand, my mum has is slide disability and the manager Katarina stepped in and immediately made everything possible to accommodate my mum's disability with the greatest respect and attention. There fore, if you think to go or not to the Valamar San Marino resort, I strongly recommend this choice. Not even to mention the quality of the accomodation and meal, of something is not at the table, you may simply ask and the personal will do all they can to fulfill your wishes. Ideal vacation for youngsters, family, groups, older couples and simply everyone. Thank you and special thank you one more time to Antonio and Katarina and whole personal.

Great location, nicely renovated rooms, very friendly staff, tasty food. Staff at the reception was always willing to do extra for us as customers. Outstanding - staff at the restaurant, parking, location Positive for me, negative for someone - internet. I was really happy internet did not work properly as it was my time off from the internet :) Hotel resort is really nice, especially trees, etc.

Comfortable bed. Fine buffet and the beach is extremely great. Room could be a bit bigger but they pay close attention to cleaning. The hotel is on top of a hill but there is a way without stairs too, but it is not barrier-free to the hotel, for that maybe Plaza is recommended.

If we count proprtly - it is our 8th time in your hotels in Lopar. As always everything was perfect - that is why we come back here every year. It could be good if the receptions were opened on (all) June, because there was a lot of people who came and did not to do when reception was empty.

Taking into account that this is a 3 star hotel, I think that it was a good offer. The hotel is close to a beautiful beach, just a short walk away. Parking is included in the hotel price. Hotel Veli Mel is old, but I have no complaints, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the room was clean. Food was good, but similar type of food every day might get boring.

All very very good. The staf is amazing. The beach is a part of heaven. The only Thing to recomand: a few showers on the side of the beach. The parking lot is large enought for the guests. Lopar is a very clean City. Nice that you can stay on sand or on green grass.

"The nearest Beach (Rajska plaža-Paradise Beach) is crowded and very shallow, ideal for kids, but there are lot of other beaches in Lopar area accesible by walking. "
