B&B Villa Sumrak is a family run Bed&Breakfast suitable for a pleasant stay for up to 14 people in 3 apartment, in all seasons. It is surrounded by meadows, medium sized mountain peaks and pristine forest. The air is rich with oxygen, and the deep silence is only occasionally interrupted by the sound of the running water from the Plitvica stream. This is an ideal destination for a getaway from everyday city life. Due to our geographical position and elevation of over 600 meters, after even the hottest summer days come cool nights that make perfect sleep possible. Our property also features a lovely outdoor common area where we serve breakfast on your request. As the Sumrak family we’ve been taking care of our guests since 2012 and we will gladly be of service to you as well, making sure your experience of the NP Plitvice Lakes is the best possible one. Given that there are many landmarks in the region we recommend staying for at least 2 days.

We were welcomed by Maia, the hostess. Our room was spacious. We had all toiletries included, plenty of towels and the whitest bed sheets. Beds were very comfortable. Although we could not serve dinner there, since our kids are really picky, the host recommended a restaurant in the area. However they served us a delicious breakfast- w homemade cookies, jams and fresh veggies & fruits. The info provided regarding the Plitvice park were very useful, made our trip much easier.

We found this amazing B&B when passing through Plitvice lake. We did not make any bookings but hosts offered us a lovely family apartment as we reached their property late evening. Maja, Marko and Miro are amazing hosts, very kind, professional, supportive. They gave us recommendations regarding national park visit, as well as went above and beyond to ensure our family has lovely stay. They accommodated our two kids during the breakfast time, as both have food allergy. The place has great location, walking distance to the lake, very clean, comfortable and nice surroundings. There are couple of nice restaurants nearby as well as they offer simple food at the property. Great Service, thank you so much!

Great place with super hosts. We did last minute reservation yesterday afternoon and the host welcomed us early night. Very good rooms, nice atmosphere, delicious breakfast.
Nice place in the Plitvice park, across the lakes in something like an ethno village. Unofficial Entrance 3 to the park nearby.
Highly recommended if you wish to enjoy the area.

We chose Villa Sumrak because of the amazing reviews on Trip Adviser and they didn't let us down. The couple who own it were away on vacation leaving their two sons and an uncle holding the fort but the Villa was in safe hands. From the minute we arrived, they could not have been more friendly, helpful and hospitable. It felt like we were staying with distant cousins we had not met before. They take enormous pride in what they do there and do their best to make everything perfect for their guests. We have never stayed anywhere before where the hosts had more time for us. They also do excellent food!
We only had one night there and could only walk the lower lakes of the Plitvice National Park which was absolutely stunning (although very crowded at this time of year) and this is our only regret about our visit. We will return as soon as possible to the area if we are able to stay here again.
Best hosts ever.

Decision to stay there made this trip one of the best vacation we had. Plitvice Lakes National Park is amazing, and villa is located in a perfect place, so you can walk into the park within a few minutes.
But what makes this facility better than others are hosts. After five minutes you feel like you know tham for whole your life. So kind and welcoming provided us all the informations we needed during our stay. We came here with the kids and they immediately offered us lunch for them , although we have not previously ordered.
And do not bother to try to find restaurants.
All the food is more than delicious and it's hard to say which is better, breakfast with local specialties or grilled trout . Be sure that we will come back again .

We stayed here for 2 nights on our tour of Croatia and Slovenia and I can honestly say that it was the hi-light of our trip. The accomodation is fantastic - spacious, beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. However the hospitality by Miro and Marina was second to none - we decided to take the dinner option and are so glad we did - the food was fantastic, and at the end of the meal we were offered Grappa and shared stories of life in Croatia. We learnt a lot and really enjoyed Miro's hospitality - he should be a comedian! Such a warm and welcoming couple - thank you!

Stay here! This was a great experience. It is quite a drive into this place, but keep going. The most amazing view in the park is a 15 minute stroll away from the accommodation. This has been one of the most truly memorably stays on our trip, not only because of the scenery, but even more so because of the wonderful hospitality shown to us by Miro, Marina and their children. We had dinner as well as breakfast here for a very reasonable price. Dinner was a delicious meal and copious amounts of wine and other liqueurs were served to us. We can't rate this stay high enough - on a scale of one to five it's a six!

Vila Sumrak is a very cozy and neat little house in the Plitvige National Park area. Location is quiet and beautiful, the room was tidy, clean and comforting.
Moreover, the owner Mr Miro is welcoming and comforting. He will give you all kind of needed information and advice. Although Vila Sumrak doesn’t have a restaurant, the family does cook dinner and you can join it, provided you inform them by the morning so they can get the food at the market for you too. We felt very relaxed here.
However, there were two black marks I’d like to point out: the day we fully spent there, there had been a serious emergency, as one of the houses nearby took fire and burnt completely. The consequence was the fire brigade shut the electricity down in all the village, and the water is delivered to the rooms by an electric pump, so both electricity and water were missing. I believe it would have been professional to makes us find a bucket of water upon return to the house, instead of expecting us to ask for it. After all, it’s unpleasant to be without electricity, but it’s impossible to be without water.
Secondly, we discovered the rooms aren’t cleaned and tidied at all daily, unless you explicitly ask for it. This is not specified anywhere, and when we questioned this, we were told we should have put a ‘please clean our room’ card outside of it: unfortunately, no such card was in the room for us to use, so why should we have thought about it? Considering this place is 4-starred, and we spent almost 150 Euros per night (breakfast is NOT included), I don’t feel ashamed in stating that the price spent is not adequate to the service received.

My wife and I recently stayed at The Villa Sumrak while visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park.

The choice could not have been better.

You drive quite a way past the entrance to the park which is a little disconcerting. However, the hotel is situated in a perfect place to enable you to walk into the park within a few minutes, thus bypassing the crowds.

The rooms are great - large with clean comfortable furniture and a modern bathroom. However, the best part is the welcome and hospitality that you receive from Miro and Marino the owners. We spent the evening eating and drinking wine while Miro entertained us with stories and provided local information.

The nearest entry point is only 15 minutes away but from memory we were not able to purchase tickets there. We purchased tickets from the main gate. But to clarify, Villa Sumrak is inside the national park so, after a short walk, you are able to see lakes and waterfalls before you get to main gates. You need tickets if you want to use the ferries/boats and buses to get around the park. You only need cash for the ticket and any food or souvenirs you may want to purchase (but these can be purchased with credit card - as can the tickets. We ate breakfast and dinner at Villa Sumrak. The food was great and plentiful. We didn't stay at a hotel as these are outside of the national park and require transport to drive to it. Villa Sumrak is right in the national park and the walk to the lakes is easy and beautiful
