We loved our stay at Villa Rena. Beautiful pool and very pretty garden area. Short walk to the restaurants, bars and beaches of Batsi. Immaculately clean. Charming and helpful hostess. Would highly recommend.
We have had the pleasure of staying for a second time at Villa Rena. It is our home away from home, with comfortable studios, a lovely pool area, and picture perfect views. Our host, Rena, is just the warmest, most welcoming lady, who has always gone out of her way to make us feel at home. It is a short walk to the village, where there are a variety of restaurants and tavernas, as well as clean, safe beaches. The rooms are kept immaculately clean and have kettle, fridge, cooktop, and flat screen TV. Free internet is available throughout the property. We would highly recommend Villa Rena to anyone planning a trip to beautiful Andros.
Typical 'Greek style' minimalistic room. Comfortable and clean. small shower room. Lovely bar and pool area.Steep walk to the beach area so wouldnt be suitable for people with mobility issues. Rena welcomes you as if you are part of her family.
A beautiful complex, 10 minutes from the beach and typically Greek harbour village. Very friendly hostess and owner, immaculately presented pool and gardens including bbq areas and bar. The rooms are clean but typically the basic standard you find in Greece.
This year we wanted to spend as little time on the boat as possible so we chose the Cyclades again and the beautiful island of Andros, which is only a couple of hours away from the port of Rafina. Chora and Batsi are the island’s biggest towns. If you’re interested in culture and history, Chora is definitely your place, but if nightlife or proximity to beautiful beaches is your main focus, Batsi suits you just fine. We chose Vila Rena mainly because we booked late and our options were limited. The hotel is just a ten-minute drive from the port and very easy to find. There is plenty of space to park your car and the hotel is really nice on the outside so the first impression was good. Rena, the owner, welcomed us and checked us in fast -without asking for any documents- the room was ready and we didn’t have to wait at all. The room was clean and tidy, not very spacious but not small either. It had a double bed and single one for our daughter, a small kitchenette, mini fridge, TV, air conditioning unit, a wooden table and two chairs and a balcony with another small table, three chairs and a clothes rack. Decoration was simple, with paintings on the walls made by the owner, nothing special and not really up to date, but colorful and pleasant. Most of our stuff fit in the closet and there was enough space for our luggage. Now, the bathroom is really an issue especially if one is a big guy like me. It is very small, the shower barely fits one person and it has a curtain which I really don’t like because I prefer glass doors. The mattresses are a little bit firm for my sleeping preferences and the pillows are flat, not plush and soft, one certainly needs two -or even three- to sleep comfortably. These were the two drawbacks of the room, plus they change towels every three days. The common areas are actually great. The pool area is beautiful; it is surrounded with parasols and wooden deck chairs, lots of shade to enjoy a drink and relax, and a bar. The garden is nice too, very green, colorful and it also has a playing ground! If you have children, this place without a doubt is ideal. Lots of spots to relax, read a book, or enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink. Villa Rena is located a few minutes from the main beach road of Batsi where all the bars and eateries are and less than 10 minutes from the beautiful sandy beach, but it’s a 5-6 minute uphill climb when you come back, which was not a problem for me because it’s close enough to walk and far enough to avoid the buzz from the town. Last but not least, the owner. Rena really tries hard to satisfy her guests and runs the place sufficiently, but sometimes she is not as subtle as she should be. The second day she accused our 15-year daughter of having left make-up spots on the towels, which wasn’t true -teenage girls in the room next to ours were to blame- and she later apologized. Overall, if you don’t mind cramped bathrooms and flat pillows villa Rena is a nice place to stay and make it the base to explore Andros and its beautiful beaches. Children will love it and adults will be satisfied too for its laidback ambience and its cleanliness.…
