The best thing was the staff: they were so nice and helpful and kind, always smiling, always doing the extra thing to make us feel welcomed and enjoy our stay. I would go back there just to be “spoiled’” by them!!!
The Pension consists of small buildings of 1 or 2 floors, white and sky blue, in a large park with many bougainvillea and oleander. Our room is on the outside (no outside noise) and has a nice view of the laurels in bloom.
Room 409:
The room is of beautiful size, a large double bed and a single bed (convenient to put the suitcase there). Clean. The walls are white crépi. The floor is very light grey marble. The furniture is minimalist built of white painted concrete. Blue flower cushions are very pretty just like bedside lamps. There is an extremely noisy refrigerator that needs to be disconnected at night if you want to sleep. The air conditioning is also noisy, but much less so than the refrigerator. If you turn it off, you can’t sleep so hot.
The window closes badly and slams with the wind.
The shower room (painted walls in light grey and white, light grey marble floor) is cramped and is absolutely non-functional. The door does not open completely and taps against the sink. There is very little space to put your things down. The shower is large enough, but the shower head is not in front of the wall. It is in front of the toilet, so there is water everywhere even if you are careful.
Lack of electrical outlet (1 for fridge or TV). No outlets in the shower room, 2 outlets for bedside lamps, 1 at the luggage rack and stop. You can't plug in the hair dryer and see yourself in the mirror. The wire is too short.
When we returned from visiting on the 2nd day, the room was not made. The receptionist was not embarrassed, not a word of apology...
Breakfast taken outside (the view of the bougainvillea and oleander is very nice) is very correct. There is enough to eat to start the day well. The staff is nice.
I won't make the list of what happened, I agree and confirm all of the previous negative feedback; from the room/bathroom cleanliness to the pool (line of moss at the level of the water - perhaps it has never been cleaned), from the dirt on the balcony to the ones that knock on your room (before 9 am) because they have to clean!
What's worse is that Alpitour (that sells this resort as 4 Stars) doesn't take care of its Clients, the lady said that every change would have been at our own expenses and put us on the spot with the reception saying "they're not satisfied with the room".
This is a nice Camping
Considering I chose this location of aliki to stay away from the casino of Naussa, the choice was great.
Location:
The property is located a few steps from the sea but at a fair distance from the street full of restaurants (excellent) that can cause annoyance.
Staff:
Nice and also available for a change of towels that we requested.
C left us a present before leaving and it was a nice thing on their part.
Room:
We had the first floor room near the pool so if you spend the whole day or most of it could cause annoyance, even the rooms are not completely soundproofed but in total of our 7 days we had no glories, considering that you tend to spend all day outside and around the island.
The only negative note:
breakfast, huge choice but the salty is not recommended, the sweet one you can settle.
Recommendation all in all because bathroom and air conditioning needs for those who stay all day on vacation outside the hotel was good
The highlight was the fantastic pool area. Kept immaculately clean with ever ready pool towels laid out. The pool bar rounded off this area and Chris was utterly charming and really went out of his way to ensure the clients’ comfort.
I would be hard pressed to find ways the hotel could be improved. And the only very slight comment I would make is that maybe the breakfast staff could be a little more proactive in looking for supplies running low. On two or three occasions we had to point out where re-stocking was needed.
If and when we return to Aliki, this will be the place for us and we will again look forward to one of Chris’s excellent G&T’s !!
