Family-run farmhouse.
The winery of the Sincovich family is linked to the farm, a noble family that originated in the Croatian region already with the Illyrian people.
The farm offers you its excellent wines, decidedly superior to other local wines, and dishes based on Istrian truffles, from aperitifs to pasta (handmade fusi or strozzapreti), and the excellent barbecued meat that they cook in the fireplace in the main room , in front of the guests.
The Sincovich brothers stand out for their ability to convey empathy and to be able to explain complicated dishes with extreme simplicity.
The prices are certainly not low but if you eat truffles those are!!
Depending on the season, obviously their truffles will be more or less tasty but always fresh.
They are closed during the harvest period.
In any case, service, food, wines and digestives (always produced by them) are excellent.
If you have time, we recommend shopping in the nearby shop, attached to the property, where you can find high quality wine products.

We've just returned from the most perfect stay here and for the first time I am moved to share my experiences with fellow travellers. The restaurant and rooms are situated on the most beautiful stretch of countryside with spectacular views and the family could not have been more welcoming. The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. I've truffles coming out of my ears! This place deserves 5 stars for sure and I'm going to encourage friends and family to get themselves there for sure. It's so worth the visit. Thanks Sergei!

Great local wine, cheese, olive oil.
Try the wine degustation, barrique malvazija, Terran, muskat, and palinka rakija. The Sinkovic family welcomes you with great hospitality. We stayed at the terrace for the whole afternoon / evening, with great view on the gulf of Trieste.

We spent our last night in Croatia here. It was very peaceful : no noise, great view and a wonderful on site resturant for dinner and breakfast. The room was clean, comfortable and private. No amenities are provided, so don't count on body wash, shampoo or other supplies. A simple breakfast is included in room rate - fresh bread, pancakes, tea and coffee.
The dinner was great: simple, fresh, local food. The starter plate is great value - you get a sample of the cheese, cured meats, olives and we sampled wils asparagus. Skip dessert, it was not as good as rest of the menu.
Nearby there are wonderful wineries (Cattunar, Varelda) and restaurants (San Rocco, Konoba Morgan). You can make a day trip ti Istralandia water park.

My wife and I loved every minute of our stay at San Mauro. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
It was easy to find with a map and directions from Sergio, the owner. It is perched on top of a hill with views of the ocean, nearby hill top towns, and vineyards and orchards as far as you can see.
Our room was large with a kitchen, three beds, and our own private balcony.
The best part of the place is the restaurant attached. They serve dinner every night and everything but the cheese is made right there on the farm. The pork, the wine, the beef, the veggies, and jelly - everything. It was so fresh and prepared perfectly. We ate there all three nights after we enjoyed the first meal so much.
Breakfast is included too and is simple and delicious. Hard boiled egg, bread, fresh jams, and drinks.

Just come back from a fantastic break in Croatia that finished with a short stay at Sinkovic and it was defintely the perfect ending for me. The family made us feel at home, the rooms were comfortable and peaceful and the food was delicious. They make their own wine, beer and Grapper too which they happily let you try if you're not sure what to order. If you hire a car it is also a great location for exploring the hill top towns and only a 10k from the nearest beach. Also it was great meeting the two pigs, Jack and Gigi who are a very much loved part of the family. Already wondering about going back!

The Sinkovic family hotel at their winery is hidden away in San Mauro just out of the village of Momjan. We had a warm, comfortable room with a balcony and a view of the sea. Breakfasts were a feast of housemade bread, cheeses, jams and home produced olives, ham and eggs. The family is welcoming and friendly. The adult sons speak English and are happy to share the history of their heritage and generous with their produce. The restaurant is open only on weekends but an eatery for lunch and dinner is a short walk away which has delicious pasta, truffles and salads. Down in Momjan itself, Rino's has a bar and great food. A wonderful relaxing 3 nights.

Being greeted by retired truffle-hunting pigs was certainly a unique experience, and just one of the many things that makes this hotel special. Located on an Istrian hilltop, it's possible to see the Adriatic from the house while remaining far away from the tourist hordes. Although the owners only speak Italian, German, and Croatian, their sons speak reasonably good English and are extremely helpful; they not only arranged a snack plate and some wine for a sunset viewing, but also organized a horseback riding venture. The rooms are merely functional with small kitchenettes, but all have balconies with beautiful views. The biggest detractor was the lack of air conditioning, which made sleeping in the August heat extremely difficult, and leaving the balcony door open was not an option as the mosquitoes were quite active. The hotel has a restaurant that serves excellent meals; we highly recommend the scrambled eggs with truffles and the truffle cheese. In addition, they serve a number of homemade products, to include wine and jams, which can be purchased on-site. We would gladly return here for a visit, just not in the summer heat.

We were invited here as part of our close friends' 10th anniversary celebration. The owners were incredibly hospitable and the food was plentiful and delicious. The owner's wine is excellent as well. This property is in a tiny village that sits in Croatia's wine country. It feels a lot like Chianti in Italy or Sonoma Valley in California. The rooms are comfortable and breezy, with nice balconies with views over the surrounding country side. Several large hogs live outside (they are used to find the truffles), they amuse the kids and provide good photo subjects.

It's special, where else are you greeted by a pig at the front living in a wine barrel !?
So what you get when you stay here is a good room (not the most fancy but good), tremendous atmosphere with a beautiful location and views from the balcony, great cuisine sourced locally, great wine made by the owner a professional oenologist, and warm and welcoming hosts. A true agroturismo place. Don't forget the local truffles too.
Its in a quiet rural area in an elevated position and very popular with local people who come for meals and drinks - surely a good sign.
