what a beautiful place, the food is outstanding, the staff are equally the same, cleanliness is 2nd to none .. everything about this hotel is 100% top quality . We were here during the covid pandemic. Temperature taken digitally by a machine when visiting the buffet restaurant, use of plastic gloves and mask while choosing your food. Eating u can remove them . It was not a problem at all. Sun beds are disinfected after each use.you would not think that there was a pandemic going on in the world .. so very clean, towels given in platic bags. Cutlery wrapped in plasic sealed bags . Bar staff brilliant. People cleaning behind the scenes . My view 100% safe and brilliant hotel

Sorry for the late review! I have traveled around the Mediterranean all my life. I've seen bad hotels and good ones. But, when you pay a certain amount of money and even more for a swim-out room, expectations are created for the price that you paid. And no, we got no help at the reception. This was our first sight: (Before YOU reply with a passive aggressive answer, look at the pictures again) one more thing, the ants is not in the picture*

Stay for a family holiday, first week struggled to get gluten-free meals and staff not very helpful. Second week totally different more choice at meal times and staff would even cook something for the grandchildren if we asked

Our week at caldera beach is almost over and I must say I LOVE this hotel! It has everything I wished for. Last week of August 2019 and the weather is hot, just how I like it about +32°c all week and clear blue sky. Pretty big waves at the beach but we were able to swim there a couple of times. Check the flag colour before entering the sea. The sun beds at the beach are free which was good. The beach is rocky but it didn't bother us that much, we like the pool more anyway which was amazing! Our 7 and 9 year old daughters have been living in the pool all week. You are also welcome to use the other hotel creta paradise pool and bars, but actually we like our own side the best. We had all inclusive and I really recommed it for everyone travelling with kids! Ice cream, snacks, beverages and buffet's, all you can eat the whole week - we loved it! The food was very good and varied alot, didn't get booring at any time. Greek salad and tsatsiki were my favourites. A big plus for the kids buffet where they can get their favourite foods themselves. The chocolate fountain was a wow-factor for the kids. Out hotel room was really nice, nothing too fancy but everything we need. Clean and cool, ac units in both the bedroom and living room, we slept very good here, kids in a big pull-out sofa and parents in a couples bed. In the evenings slightly noisy from the hallway and from the evening entertainments, but nice and quiet at night. A minor ant problem in the bathroom. Problems with the wifi in the hotelroom, outside works fine. One thing was a bit annoying; the waitors at the buffet always tried to take away your plate even if you're not done eating. There were a lot of free tables available so I don't think there was any rush to get people out of the reastaurant. And the waitors didn't take us seriously when ordering milk at dinner, so we "had" to drink beer every day... =) otherwise nice and friendly personnel. The kids evening entertainment shows were surprisingly good! Pirate musical theathre was amazing, very good singers and actors! Other favourites were the clowns coco & charlie and all the great music and dancing. One day we went to chania for some shopping, bus ticket was 2,20/person only 30 min drive. The beautiful old town of chania gave us all the shopping we wished for. The market beside the hotel reception also has o good variaty of basic shopping items and souvenirs. I'm so sad to be leaving this place, hope to be back again some day!

We had such a wonderful time staying at the Atlantica Caldera Beach Resort. The resort was lovely, with many pools and bars, and was located right on the beach. We booked a room with a “partial sea view” but were given a room with an amazing sea view! We stayed in a two room apartment on the “busier” side of the hotel, near the pools, sea and activities. I’m really glad that we chose to stay on this side of the hotel as it was close to everything but was not noisy at all. The resort was beautiful and clean. There were a lot of amenities as it shares the grounds with its “sister hotel” Atlantica Caldera Paradise. As a guest at either hotel you could use all of the pools, bars, restaurants, etc. All of the staff that we encountered was very friendly. Our kids checked into the kids clubs (Bamse club and @611) and had a great time. They asked to go back every day. The clubs are free and are for 2 hours per day. You can sign up your kids each day using the TUI app. I recommend downloading the TUI app as it lets you know what activities are scheduled each day (aqua aerobics, bamse disco, evening shows, etc.) There are a lot of activities and I was impressed by how often we saw Bamse (last year at a resort on Mallorca he rarely showed up but at Caldera Beach we saw him more than once per day!) There are also a lot of after dinner activities and shows in the outdoor theatre. The entertainment team puts on a great show! The kids especially loved playing “Download” every evening. The food was great. Buffet 3 times per day and plenty of snacks available at the bars. You won’t be hungry and you might go home slightly rounder than when you arrived. There is some variation from day to day but it does get a little repetitive after a week. In any case, it tasted great and I got a week’s vacation from planning and cooking dinner.  The two bedroom apartment was perfect for a family of four (kids ages 5 and 8). The room was very clean on arrival, although the quality of the housekeeping varied a lot from day to day. The bed was very hard, a softer mattress on top would have made a big difference. The beach was OK (and close!) but not as nice as other beaches I’ve visited. The first part of the beach is sandy but as you approach the water the beach becomes full of stones and pebbles. There is a meter wide strip of stones that you have to cross to get into the water, which is tough on your feet, but once you pass this there is a sandy floor. You can’t walk out too far (maybe 10-15 meters?) before the water gets deep. The waves are really big and some days it was too dangerous to swim. We did get to play in the waves a few days when the water was a little calmer but it’s not ideal for small children. We spent most of our time in the pools. The biggest annoyance is the same problem that you encounter at most hotels. Many guests reserve/claim sun chairs by the pool early in the morning but don’t actually use them until later in the day. The hotel puts up signs prohibiting this but doesn’t enforce it. We did manage to find sun chairs every time we visited the pool, but not always right away. All in all, we had a great stay. Both the hotel staff and the TUI/entertainment/child care staff was excellent. I would go back and wish I was there right now!
