The Hotel Panorama is mostly a very comfortable, resort style accomodation which caters superbly to families. However it is also a great overnight stay option for the area as even their single rooms offer wonderful, panoramic views and although relatively small in size, they are comfortable enough for a night or two. The onsite restaurant might get a bit boring during a long stay but it’s a very good option for a meal or two. It is definitely on the pricey side but the portions are rather large and the food is very tasty. Their breakfast spread is also of a very good standard and the bar by the reception opens even before the breakfast room for an early morning coffee. Staff is very nice and constantly make sure that their guests feel comfortable.

Great hotel with excellent and breathtaking views. If you love basking at mountains then this is the place to be. Very good and plentiful breakfast and tasty dinner. Hotel has a garage as well so your car is taken care as well. You will not regret staying at this hotel.

This is one of the nicest 3 star hotels I’ve stayed in. The location is absolutely stunning. You have an amazing view of the mountains and you’re a 50 foot walk from the gondola! Loads of hiking and activities all within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel caters mostly to Germans but the staff go to great lengths to make sure that English speakers are accommodated. Screaming fast internet even in the rooms. Had no issue streaming Netflix. They have a very nice private sitting area with a stunning view of the mountains, I often spent the evening there. It is open to any quests but I had it mostly to myself. Breakfast and afternoon coffee was pretty basic but dinner absolutely rocked. They have an amazing chef. My wife and I booked half board (halbpension in German) and it was a steal of a deal! The hotel is located away from the main tourists areas (Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen) so it means you won’t run into many English speakers but it allows you to see a completely different area! My only complaint was the building wasn’t staffed overnight so at 10pm it was lights out, literally. If you went out you had to try and find the light switch. It would be very nice if they had nightlights in the hallways Room tip: ask to upgrade to a better room and one with a sofa, well worth the extra. Fantastic place will return.

We arrived for a 2 day stay, Receptionist was very friendly. However, I felt our allocated room on the second floor was dark, unwelcoming and had a limited view. I went back to reception to ask if we could be upgraded to a balcony room and were told to come back in 30 mins. Unfortunately we were unable to get an upgrade as all rooms were booked, but this was not the fault of the reception staff who were polite. Despite our booking confirmation stating our room had a mini bar we did not have one or a fridge - Why not ?! We had dinner our first night in the hotel restaurant, we hadn’t reserved a table and the restaurant manager seemed flustered. We did get a table and were told a table would be allocated to us for breakfast next morning. The dinner itself was very average and we felt the restaurant lacked atmosphere, was also very noisy due to two coach loads of guests. My glass of wine was very small. We ate elsewhere the second night. Came down to breakfast next morning, no table had been allocated to us ( hotel puts names on the table). The second morning still no named breakfast table - did not make us feel welcome or put us in a holiday mood! Husband went down to have a cigarette at 11.15 pm the first evening as there were no ash trays at all on the hotel terrace,he was made to feel he was being a nuisance by going outside to have a smoke as was told he had to use room key to get back in etc. He also said corridor lights were switched off. A shame really as I had high hopes for this hotel. Not a happy holiday atmosphere at all. The best thing about this hotel is the beautiful views although there is not much to do nearby. We were fortunate in that having a car we were able to explore the area. As us Brits day I not our cup of tea! Would I return - no.

Single room was immaculate with an excellent view, albeit as others have noted marred by a tram support pylon. Terrace a nice perk for this price point. More scenic than Meiringen. Hotel seemed popular with mass group tours of senior citizens.
