Great for walkers

Very pleasant staff. Room was spacious and clean. We didn't have a balcony (Room 510) but there was a huge terrace right outside our door with sunlougers, our own table and chairs, an outside shower and fantastic view of the beach and sea. No AC in the room but not needed as kept the window open and drifted off to sleep to the sound of the sea, amazing. Beds were so comfortable but we needed extra pillows and asked at reception in the morning and they were in our room on returning from a walk.Breakfast was plentiful and fresh, something for everyone and great view's over the sea. Towels were a bit hit and miss twice we got lovely large fluffy towels, the other times it was more of a tea towel. Towards the end of our stay of 10 days my partner came back from reception with 2 beach towels that were big and fluffy, no charge, so I would suggest asking for those. There is a kettle in the room and tea/coffee but no milk so grab some on your flight until you can get to the supermarket. There is a small fridge and a hairdryer, we also had a bath with a shower over. The shower was "fun", lots of dancing and singing as it changed temperature from freezing cold to boiling hot but if you time it right you get about 2 mins of good temperature between changes, glad we had a bath as well. The maids did a great job cleaning the room but they do not acknowledge the Do Not Disturb sign and will bang on your door, we felt very rushed to vacate the room in the morning and on the one day we attempted a lie in we were woken by the maid knocking at 9am.
Not much to do in the area, it is very residential which we loved. There is a supermaket across the square and a bigger one just 5 mins away. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road, take the bus to San Isidro (10 mins) and you can then catch buses to the different areas, and also to the airport. A must visit is a Spanish bar on the square which is hidden by a gazebo and we didn't see until our last day, the food is amazing, the cod croquettes were delicious. The beach is lovely and clean. I will definitely return.

We arrived at the Médano hotel thanks to our travel agency, the hotel is located directly on the sea in an enviable position for getting around the island and close to the airport The rooms have been renovated recently, the furnishings are very easy as is the entire structure, we opted for a large room with a balcony overlooking the ocean, a spectacular one, the bathroom is large, with window and a beautiful shower. The cleaners were good, except for the choice of mattresses, which were too soft. Note of demerit for breakfast where there is a sufficient offering of savory foods but the sweet part is completely missing, a shame.

Just back from a great 10 days in El Medano. The hotel is lovely and clean. All staff friendly, breakfasts good. We had a room with balcony and sea view which was worth the extra few euros! We found the roof terrace ok for sunbathing and the terrace over the sea very enjoyable. The beds and mattresses in our room were changed whilst we were there (my partner thought the previous beds were more comfortable!). There was quite a lot of building work going on, starting at 8.15 each morning. Guess they are just trying to keep on top of maintenance.
We had a good choice for evening meals in the local restaurants around the square. Unfortunately everything seemed to shut down at 10pm and hotel bar closed at 9pm!
Beach lovely, beds and parasols up and washed by 9am! It seems a resort for families and yet the far end of the beach is very windy and there are lots of wind surfers there.
We happened to be there on May Day and it was bouncing with people! It quietened off after the weekend.
It's only 10 minutes transfer from airport and would certainly recommend for anyone who likes an non-commercialised area that still has everything close by.

Firstly the staff were amazing, very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.
The room we stayed in (501) was very clean, with fresh towels each day. Whilst not massive it was a good size with awesome sea views.
The location is right in the middle of the village and is a focal point for the area. Looking out over the bay you have direct access via steps into the sea, so no sand on your feet etc. The sun beds are free of charge for residence and so are the beach towels (€2.60 if you want them washing).
Breakfast was plentiful and a great choice for all tastes.
Amazing hotel and resort. Thoroughly recommended!

Second time staying at this beautiful hotel. As with most places, you get what you pay for and we had booked the more expensive rooms overlooking the terrace with views out to sea. Very very nice. It’s chilled hotel, it has a friendly ambience and there are desks downstairs where people can do some work if needed. The breakfast buffet is good and the lunch salads were very nice to enjoy on the terrace overlooking the sea. There are steps that lead directly into the sea (avoiding all the fine Tenerife sand!) and the water is clear and cool, with long sea swims - great exercise! Fresh water showers at the side of the deck to rinse off afterwards. The hotel itself sits out over the sea so it’s like sitting on a cruise. The staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms don’t have air con, but had a ceiling fan and it was so nice sleeping with the windows open listening to the sea at night. Very comfortable beds. Only negative we could think of is that the rooms didn’t shut out all the sound and I could hear the tv next door. Will be back next year and highly recommend - the nicest 3 star you’ll ever get, in a chilled and relaxed location away from the hoards of package holidaymakers.

Disappointing. At 6 pm the hammocks are removed and it is over to enjoy what goes to this hotel, enjoy the bath and be quiet in the sun lounger. At 5 in the afternoon coffee maker off. According to the waitress, "I don't rent." Bad restaurant service. Poor quality food and what's more, you sit down to lunch at 3 in the afternoon and they tell you that in 2 hours you have to leave the table pq we have an event upstairs and go downstairs for drinks. Removing the deckchairs is pq they have invented something called sunset with live music so that not customers but anyone not hosted enter to drink. And I wonder: shouldn’t this be indicated on the website and on the Reservation pages for one to decide whether to stay in this hotel with these conditions??? Another aspect, the cleanliness is something that should be improved and otherwise I invite those staying to look at the curtain bars, the bathroom bin, the dishes at breakfast, etc... Maintenance tb is poor and jumps out.

We only stayed for one night at the Hotel Medano in Tenerife prior to flying back to the UK. This hotel is literally on the sea front and in the heart of the restaurant and beach area. The staff were extremely helpful and especially the reception ladies Elena and Helena. The hotel was very clean and the rooms very light and airy with excellent sea views. The sleep quality was fantastic due to an exceptionally comfortable mattress and good quality luxury pillows and bedding. The food and beverage service was good, efficient and reasonably priced and the complementary breakfast choice substantial.
The over sea decking area was excellent for sunbathing and access to the sea for swimming and snorkelling. There were also showers in the decking area where you could wash off the sea salt post swim.
Whilst we couldn't get a late checkout due to the hotel being full we were afforded a small room to shower and change prior to our departure; this was, in my opinion, excellent reception staff service especially for a couple staying the one night. We will definitely be returning but this time for a much longer stay.

Disappointed. Was not informed of the major works going on inside the hotel (drilling, hammering). Given the knowledge and choice I would not have gone. The El Medano is in the perfect spot. It is decorated and presented to a high standard. The hotel put a letter under my door stating the world would finish by lunchtime, they continued until 4pm and started the next day at 8.30am and continued until 2.30pm; no letter of explanation came through the door. By the third day I had had enough and went to reception to enquire as to what could be done. I was told to sit and a manager would be with me shortly. I waited 15 mins; the hight of ignorance. When someone came, it was the housekeeper who was very kind, understanding and showed me various rooms on various floors all of which had the continuous noise of building work. I could not be accommodated at another accommodation as there was a big event in El Medano. I chose a room with a larger balcony which allowed me to have 2 doors and some respite from the noise. I need to explain further; I have worked throughout covid in some desperate situations and this was my first holiday to enjoy downtime. If the hotel had only given me notice of their works. The housekeeper could not tell me when they began so this was clearly an ongoing upgrade to their premises. The housekeeping kept everything clean, neat and tidy.

We start badly: in the afternoon, just arrived, we are resting in bed and a phone call arrives "if we are interested in installing solar panels" !!!?!???? At the reception they say they will look for the cause: they do not apologize. The hotel is from the 30s, by the sea, but the interior is quite current. In the evening, Friday, they have live music. Live there were only the voices of the two Cuban singers and the music was recorded. Let's have an aperitif with two beers and a mix of tapas: 42 € !!!! If the price is for the music, you usually don't pay for the music. In the morning, after breakfast, we meet in the room at 10: the walls vibrate from the blows of the jackhammer in some rooms on the same floor! The floors, of course, are full of dust and rubble..... For 139€, honestly, I expect much more.

Everything perfect as in the photo, cleanliness, very kind staff, excellent services, super location ❤️ Breakfast was included in my package which was very rich and varied even for guests with a vegan diet. You would find cereals, fruit, soy milk, jams as well as vegetables, coffee, tea, fresh juices, fresh bread to toast. Terraces overlooking the sea and the Roja mountains and steps that took you directly to the water.

As johnplee says, 14:00. There is a secure store room for luggage if you arrive before this time. Check out time is by 12:00 and again you can store your luggage should you be leaving El Medano later that afternoon.

The coach had to drop us off across the square outside the dialaprix supermarket. That was as close as he could get. There was a small car park there but I'm unsure who is allowed to use it.
There are more places to choose from in the El Medano area.
