a minimalist hotel located right on the sea at El Medano. We had a nice room looking out at the sea. It was one of their more expensive rooms. The room was nice and clean with pleasant shower and bathroom. i understand the rooms are not big in this hotel and given its location i can understand why. i found the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a footbridge leading directly into the sea. This was brilliant and we used it a number of times in particular before breakfast in the morning. The hotel does not have a pool but it is hard to beat the alternative. Breakfast was good with lots of variety and nice staff. The breakfast room looks over the sea and the Village. On the day we were leaving we used the sun loungers overlooking the sea. We had sandwich for lunch and it was excellent and good value. This was the only experience we had with the hotel food except breakfast and i have to say it was well worth it. Outside the front door of the hotel is the Village of El Medano. Very Spanish and wonderful. We used the Chinese perhaps 70 feet from hotel front door. it was very good. I have no negatives about this hotel.

Jan/Feb 2023. We are currently here enjoying some winter sun, the rooms are incredibly clean and spacious, the bathroom is first rate and staff very friendly. We are here on a bed and breakfast deal, the breakfast is outstanding, we spoke to the new chef who was taking pictures of the food and was rightly so proud of the new menu. Everyone is catered for, full continental, freshly prepared fruit and full English is available. (Albiet europian sausages and bacon, but still a great spread.) There isn't a pool but the piered terrace is over the see with steps directly into the water, this is chest deep for me at mid tide and I'm 6ft. The sea is cold but worth a dip. For us there are always spare loungers and seats for breakfast but we are off season. There isn't much to do locally if your not I to wind powered water sports. The local restaurants are well prices at about 12 to 15 euros for a meal and the food is very good. From what I have seen the hotel food is equally priced and good but we prefer to venture out. Grilled tuna and wrinkled potato's a must. We love this hotel and the winter sun We are facing east and see the sun rise over the sea which is worth waking up for with the sea directly beneath our window which is a joy to wake up too. (

Right in the center o the town. Can't fault anything about the hotel. I would say, this is a 4 Star hotel, but doesn't need a pool, as you step directly into the sea from the terrace Staff nice Hotel clean, was always someone cleaning everywhere. Plenty if choice for breakfast

Have stayed at this hotel many times and love the setting and rooms. The location is fabulous overlooking the sea yet right in the centre of the town. Our room was a fabulous corner room and looked directly out to sea. Very modern large room and bathroom all recently refurbished. The food at the hotel is pretty average, not a huge selection but can always find something good to eat and never go hungry. The sun bathing areas are wonderful and the steps directly into the sea a real bonus and save the black sand getting everywhere. Nothing to do in the hotel in the evenings and the bar closes early but we walked along to Calima bar which overlooks the sea and is always busy and the drinks are really reasonable. Lovely hotel for a relaxing break.

We were very dubious about staying here after reading the reviews of this hotel BUT what a fantastic holiday we had here. We were greeted warmly on our arrival and directed to our room which was bright, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and there was plenty of storage/wardrobe space. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and toiletries. Nothing was too much trouble for the housekeeping staff who gladly provided us with a couple of extra pillows when asked. We were only staying on a b&b basis but my goodness - the breakfast was amazing - everything you could have wanted and more from cereal/fruit to a continental breakfast to a full cooked breakfast. Plenty of choice, good quality and plenty of it. Hot drinks - as much as you wanted and again, very good coffee. The staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful beyond measure. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and again - all kept impeccably clean. Hotel is well placed for the beach, shops and restaurants. If you have a balcony overlooking the square it can be a little noisy but this didn't stop us having a brilliant night sleep in the comfy clean beds. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the very near future.

This hotel is located on the beach at El Medano, it does not boast a pool but has the largest swim area of any hotel, there is stairs into Atlantic Ocean, should accommodate all. We stayed on a bb basis in a sea view room, kettle,tea/coffee.fridge for your use, robes. Safe at an extra cost. Clean towels daily. Room has TV. Walk-in shower and whole of hotel spotlessly clean. Staff are polite and very helpful with queries. Have stayed here on previous occasion always found it as my previous comments. I have stayed in many hotels this one exceeds many of them that are very much more expensive.

Hotel is a lovely location and has great potential but the staff in restaurant are awful. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming. The woman in charge should not be working in tourism. The staff are clearly working long hours as same faces all the time so hotel not run properly. Rooms were pleasant and I did get the quiet room I requested to be fair. Food was okay despite what I have read in other reviews but I won’t be back. I don’t go on holiday to argue with staff.

We recently stayed at the hotel for four nights as a mini vacation. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, and although the rooms are renovated and clean, they could use a little bit more charm in terms of decoration, but it was not a bad stay at all. The staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, we reserved the 2 rooms with breaksfast and dinner included. Breakfast was not particularly great or bad (although the coffee was terrible), but as for dinner, we could not make ourselves eat there, not matter what. Not only were there very poor buffet options that looked probably worse than tasted, but incredibly unappealing. The first night, the options were fish (looked soggy), and I guess some meat in sauce, but we could only see a pool of brownish watery sauce and not meat in there unless you were really in the mood for fishing it. We tried the potatoes which in turn were super cold. We dined out every night, and wasted a lot of money in the non- food available options presented by the hotel. We might come back one day, but definitely never get the half pension package or recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of nice restaurants around.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but had the misfortune of eating at the a la carte restaurant. We were the only table there (first red flag) yet we still had to get up twice from the terrace to ask for drinks, bread etc. We arrived at 18:30 and finally our starters came over an hour later, they were not only cold but completely unappetising. When the waitress could be bothered to clear our plates she tried to leave our starter cutlery for us to use for our main courses. We requested clean knives and forks which was a waste of time as when the mains came they were completely inedible . My partner had what was supposed to be steak but was just gristle sat on what he thinks was cold lumpy mash but the jury is still out on that one. Over £100 for 2 cold starters, 3 inedible mains and a couple of beers. We would have complained if we thought the staff had an ounce of interest but they clearly did not. At least we now know where not to go Medano.
