KN Hotel Arenas del Mar Beach & Spa has garnered compliments for its friendly service, though some guests mention inconsistent experiences. The rooms are lauded for their size and cleanliness, yet drawbacks include poor soundproofing and issues with air conditioning. While the hotel's atmosphere strikes a balance between tranquility and liveliness, opinions on its vibrancy vary. The location is praised for scenic ocean views and quietness, although it's somewhat isolated from nightlife and can be windy. Guests appreciate the hotel's overall cleanliness and amenities, though noise disturbances and hidden costs have been noted.

This was our 2nd visit to the Arenas Del Mar Hotel and overall it was a very enjoyable 2 week stay, made even more enjoyable by a significant reduction in the wind strength that seems to dominate Tenerife, which meant we were able to swim in the sea a little more often which was just as well as there were some major issues with the outdoor swimming pool. On the 2nd day of our stay, I noticed, when looking down at the pool, that someone had obviously thrown up in the pool. I reported this to Regina on reception who immediately contacted the cleaning staff but she thought I meant on the tiles outside the pool. When I pointed out that the mess was actually in the pool she again reacted very promptly by contacting the appropriate staff. However, little or nothing seemed to be done about bar a few cursory attempts to skim the surface with a bucket. If that had have happened in the UK the pool would have been cleared of swimmers while it was dealt with. The situation improved over the next few days but scum could still be seen on the surface. The other issue with the pool was that the water level was far too low. Pools of this type usually have drain fillters around the edge to allow good water circulation. The water level was nowhere near the drain filters. On the positive side the staff, as always, were friendly and polite. The maintenance of the food temperature had improved since our last visit, however, the upholstery on the dining furniture could do with a good clean. There was an excellent Pianist who played on Friday nights and a saxophonist on Monday nights. Unfortunately the rest of the entertainment, for us anyway, left a lot to be desired. In our opinion this is still a great hotel with the staff being its biggest asset. However, it is beginning to show signs of needing a bit of TLC on the maintenance front.

Hotel was clean and modern the staff are very friendly from reception to pool bar. The food in the evening was lovely drinks was on tap to help your self . The entrance to your rooms was like open inside so when they play music is can echo and some night load . The hotel was a 10min walk to the nearest town which was nice walking in the sun. The gym was a bit dated but ok I would give this hotel a try

We love the location. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and ideal if you want a restful break. The food here is very good, varied and fresh. Ideal when you don't all eat the same thing or have dietary needs. The staff are all friendly, greeting you and being helpful, treat them as you would be like to be treated and they'll gladly assist. Highly recommend and hope to return.

I don’t normally leave poor reviews but I wish to warn people about this Place . I fail to see how it gets positive reviews. We were given a room upgrade on arrival to a junior suite . Good apart from the fact that the balcony was in the shade until 3.30pm . Car parking is free which is good and there are always spaces. WiFi worked well for most of the time , we were there 5 nights . The Hotel is sited on a headland at the edge of El Moderno the local town , which hosts windsurfing championships . It is soooo WINDY . It takes 20 minutes to walk into El Modern which is a very nice old Spanish seaside town, for the first 10 minutes you walk through a sand storm . That apparently is not unusual it’s windy 10 months of the year. The cleaning of the room is terrible . And it’s clearly policy , our sheets were not changed in 5 days , I’ve never had this before at a Hotel . We tried putting the please clean the room on the door handle , someone did come in and make the bed ( or rather chuck the sheets back on the bed) nothing was cleaned and rubbish wasn’t removed. Sand builds up on the balcony , blown in by the wind . There is 1 bin in the bathroom that doesn’t get emptied , in the end we bought the bin into the middle of the room and put rubbish, empty water bottles around it and yes it was taken away. They don’t replenish teas or coffees , I complained and they did , BUT not the little milk things , you can’t get them unless you ask at the bar . The rules for everything are onerous and super irritating. You are tagged on arrival , we had to wear a yellow tag as we were b&b . Breakfast was pretty average , even below average , the coffee from machines was terrible, the orange juice was again from a machine and sort of a discoloured water ….. we are in Spain home of oranges for goodness sake ! The general quality of the food for breakfast was weak. We stayed in El Moderno at another hotel overhanging the sea . This was cheaper and better and FAR LESS windy . The noise in the rooms is awful, a loud dragging scraping noise as people move furniture, this seems to go on throughout the night. For me this is a poor place that’s done a deal with ? An operator like Jet2 or something. Personally I won’t stay here again

We had a great holiday - we made the most of our time there. Restaurant views are stunning and we met lots of friendly people on their holidays who helped make it fun. Minerva and Miguel in the entertainment team were great fun and kept us entertained throughout - always keeping the energy high! On the other side, Food was average, classic holiday buffet food.

My friend and I had a great short stay. Minerva and Miguel on the entertainment team were great and kept us entertained throughout the day/night. The views from the restaurant were amazing. Food and drink selection were ok. We met some great people on our trip who made it fun. Overall I would say if you’re pretty laid back and up for a laugh it will be fine!

I stayed in room 423 overlooking the mountains which was really quiet and yes it does look a bit like a prison on the inside but the outside is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels. I am only b and b but the bar and drink service are always on hand there is plenty of sunbeds to go around if idiots would stop putting their towels out at stupid o'clock. The entertainment is what it is The beach is a few metres away and the local town Playa Medina is perhaps 30 minutes walk (5 euros in a taxi). Plenty of relaxing time. Rooms have Aircon, a mini fridge and Tv. Cleanliness is immaculate For a birthday treat a bottle of champagne was left in the room which I thought was a lovely touch

Lovely, relaxing holiday. Food and facilities were perfect for the price and the location was lovely. Right on the beach and within walking distance of some lovely, secluded beaches. The town is within a 15 minute walk and is fab with some really nice and slightly quirky bars and restaurants. This isn’t the place for a wild holiday but is perfect for a quiet relaxing break. All of the staff were fab, really professional and friendly, but a special shout out to the entertainment staff who were amazing! Thank you for a lovely break.

Very relaxed and comfortable hotel. I found the food to be most enjoyable and varied. Lots of choice and good quality and clean. Regularly fresh fish and meats on offer. Nice location, on a long sandy beach and 15 minutes walk to the popular resort where there are bars ,shops and restaurants. Staff all very polite, all inclusive drinks are the usual, but you can buy branded if you want. Ample sunbeds for the size and the heated outdoor pool is lovely. Entertainment is limited, but they have things on most days for you to do. Perfect holiday for a couple or friends who want to chill and relax.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and had a truly wonderful time. It was just what we needed to recharge our batteries. We were so relaxed and chilled out for the whole week. On arrival, we got checked in in under 5 mins and headed to our room which was large and had a mountain view. Unfortunately, it was rather dark [Facing North] and required the lights to be on, even during the day. A quick change and straight down to the pool area and a couple of well deserved beers at the pool bar. You have to pay 1 euro for your plastic beaker but this is refundable on return and I can understand why they have this green policy as it saves on them just being left all over the place. Our room was cleaned every day and if you wanted your sheets or towels changed, you just left a card on the bed or towels on bathroom floor. We changed our towels once but didn’t feel the sheets required the extra laundry. The pool is salty and warm. A very enjoyable time spent swimming around. I would love to give this establishment 5 stars but sadly, I’m taking 1 off for the following reasons…….. 1) My wife is Coeliac and there was literally nothing she could eat at mealtimes. This is the 21st century but they simply don’t cater for this condition and even when advice was sought from staff, they were not giving correct information. It made it an expensive holiday as we went All Inclusive. However, what I had was delicious and there was always plenty to choose from. 2) At the pool bar, some days the food was left uncovered and on several days I was there, the flies were having a field day climbing all over it. This was the same for the bottles of spirits on the counter. Flies just sitting on top spreading all sorts of germs for the next customer to consume. 3) This was the same in the dining room. The hotel has cut their staff to the bare minimum which means that the tables are not cleared quickly enough. This encouraged flies to land on tables and the plates of food that were still in full view. 4) Again, in the main bar, there is not enough staff to clear tables, which in effect means you have to take your empties back when going for another. No great hardship but you shouldn’t need to do this as an All Inclusive customer. I don’t want these points to seem negative but just want the hotel to waken up to them. All staff that we had dealings with were lovely and if you smiled at them, you got the same back. As I say, we had a great time and would most certainly return for another relaxing holiday.
