Just spent 5 nights at arenas del mar in el madano tenerife, clean tidy hotel, staff very pleasant, rooms big and airy,a bit dated but only a minor point, food nice meat especially well cooked, all inclusive was a good decision as town neary very quiet but nice walk about 15 mins.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Sea view room is definitely worth it as the views are amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is nice-a little repetitive from day to day but plenty of variety.
Just waiting to be collected for our return trip home after another brilliant week at the Hotel Arena del Mar (stayed here Nov 2021). Arrival - the reception staff are friendly, welcoming and informative. Room 415 - I sent an email requesting a higher floor and that is exactly what we got. Our room was slightly bigger than last year with a view over the sea and El Medano (side of the hotel). These rooms are some of the biggest we have stayed in with a lounge area and plenty of space. Kettle, tea, coffee and mugs supplied. There is a fridge and with a shop next door you can purchase milk etc. The balcony has chairs and table and can be quite shelter on the windy days. Our towels and bed linen was changed every two days. Excellent strong shower with plenty of hot water. Pool - we had no issue getting a sun bed everyday but did feel the hotel was quiet. The pool is very warm and is sea water. It can get windy around the pool you just have to choose your spot carefully. Entertainment - this is of no interest to us but what we saw was low key. This is not a hotel for night life. Bar shuts at eleven. Restaurant - the food here is excellent for all inclusive. The tables are cleared quite quickly considering most days there were only two members of staff on duty. Breakfast was good with everything you could possibly want. Lunch and dinners were excellent. We’ve had a vast assortment of salads along with roast pork, roast lamb, roast duck, assorted pastas, pizza, chips, salmon, prawns and mussels during our week. Drinks - in the restaurant there is beer, red and white wine and assorted soft drinks. You just help yourself. Wine was standard all inclusive and quite drinkable. Bar - very rarely a queue. I would get cava to take to dinner and there is a list of about six cocktails that are included in the AI. Pool towels could be changed every two days and at the bar you paid a refundable 1 euro for a plastic beaker which saves a lot on discarded plastic cups. Location - it’s a pleasant 15 minute walk into town via the road or beach. Staff - the staff here work really hard and there is obviously a shortage of people but the bar, restaurant and reception staff were all pleasant and friendly. The lady who cleaned our room always spoke to us and did a lovely job of keeping our room clean. Weather - it does get windy here - not the fault of the hotel - but if you find the right spot to sit it’s perfect. We’ve sat by the pool everyday for a good couple of hours. All in all a great place for a winter break. …
Lovely holiday from start to finish. Clean and spacious accommodation. Al inclusive food was excellent. Always plenty of choice to meet all different needs and lots of fresh food and fruit. Drinks fantastic, Prosecco galore!! We will definitely be back again 😀 thank you to all the amazing staff 😀
cant fault the hotel at all. the room was more than i expected. although i would recommend a sea view room as the view from the other side isnt all that great. that being said, the food was very good , more than enough choice, and staff seemed friendly. i would certainly recommend this hotel. seen a couple of negative reviews , but they were more to do with the clientele than the hotel. But thats just pot luck if you get some no- brain staying while you are there.
Definitely not a 4 star hotel, I mean it looks nice and the staff are lovely and really friendly, but we found our room wasn’t cleaned very well , for 4 star as in same towels and sheets all week and not swept at all, beds not made very well, but really the main problem was, food even though the ingredients were good, it was executed badly, the food was Luke warm and rice was hard, hard potatoes, and tasteless, such a shame, first time I’ve ever not wanted to eat somewhere, and there’s not anything close by, even the pizza was raw! The pool is lovely, the beach too, the sun beds comfy, towels mine was thread bare, my husband’s was ok, pool is heated which is nice ! Not sure if it’s just because of the last few years and covid, but I wouldn’t go back
We stayed at the end of October, beginning of November and felt a little apprehensive after reading some negative reviews. We were two couples and we couldn't find anything to fault. We arrived quite late and found plates of cold food, fruit and croissants left in the room. Also two bottles of water each in the fridge, another reviewer commented that these were not replaced daily which is correct, but there is an ice/water dispenser in the restaurant or the bar staff are more than happy to refill them. Rooms were perfectly clean with efficient air conditioning, fridge, kettle. There is a bedroom area and living area with settee and tv as well as the balcony. The general areas are spotless and obviously cleaned regularly throughout the day. Pool area clean and sunbeds available (despite the usual problem of people leaving towels and not retuning for hours) Entertainment team during the day offer a few activities such as aqua aerobics, yoga, daily cocktails etc. but are not pushy and loud as they can be in other hotels and just carry on for those who want to participate in the background. The food we thought was lovely, plenty of variation. Staff work very hard clearing up. Agreed with paying a deposit for a glass by the pool in order to save on all the wasted plastic cups. The bar staff, as are all the staff, are really friendly and welcoming (special mention to Maria and Pablo) Noise does carry because of the layout of the building but they were strict about ensuring entertainment and bar finished at 11. There are two separate bars away from the entertainment if that is not for you. Direct access to a lovely beach and easy walk into El Medano. excellent for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. We went into Las Americas and found the beach really packed and busy in comparison. El Medano itself is not busy with clubs and pubs. A few bars and restaurants. Las Americas about 20 minutes away by taxi. Airport around 10 minutes. Can't believe some of the negative reviews on here. Lovely Winter sunshine break! For the money paid it was great value for money and we will return…
We have just returned from a weeks break with the idea to relax and unwind, initially looked a good hotel. But first two nights were kept awake until early hours by what was called entertainment and screaming by drunk people, spoke to holiday rep who get us a room move, to 5 th floor, which did assist with the noise slightly, but every night was still loud. Restaurant buffet was disappointing Luke warm food or overcooked, best meal was breakfast, at the best 4/10. Very disappointing when advertised as a relaxing hotel great relocation, location was beautiful but that’s were it ends , great weather great town to walk to and enjoy evenings out . If you are after a relaxing holiday don’t stay here
The Staff are so friendly and helpful, The rooms are clean and bright. There is Always a good selection of food to suit every taste. Also the entertainment team work hard with games during the day and quizzes and music in the evening for those who wish to join in. We like it so much that we have been many times.
My my criticism at the hotel was the food! Often over cooked , twice impossible to eat the steak or pork chop even the fries (chips) pasta saved the day, and often just warm rather than hot. The restaurant appeared to be under staffed at times it was difficult to find a table that had not been cleared since the previous occupants, therefore there was often not enough plates or glasses etc available! We had no complaints about the staff they worked continuously hard and were always pleasant. We chose the hotel as it advertised an indoor pool! The only pool was the thalassotherapy pool which you could book for two hours at a cost of 15 Euros a head. There is no indoor swimming pool, very disappointed. The room was very nice sea view. All staff very helpful but this hotel does not live up to a 4 star rating. …
