Situated close to the Carara National Park (worth hiring a local guide to help you you the local wildlife , also very close to the famous Crocodile bridge with it's very large crocodlies down below (we only stayed 10 minutes or so to view the crocs). Around twice a day Scarlet Macaws fly into feed at the pol side feeding...

We stayed at Cerro Lodge for 2 nights at the start of our trip to Costa Rica. The grounds are well kept, pretty and attracted lots of birds. We had a bungalow which was quite spacious with a double and 2 single beds. There was a little hanging space for clothes. The air conditioning worked very well and we kept...

I stayed at Cerro Lodge during a horse riding trip. We spent the first three nights of our trip at this lodge and we really enjoyed it. It is a great place for bird watching and everyone there seems to enjoy doing that. If you love seeing scarlet macaws and white faced capuchin monkeys nearly every day while you eat...

We stayed her January 26 and 27, 2017 in Room 22. The air conditioning unit worked extremely well and cooled off the room quickly. The large walk in shower had plenty of hot water and water pressure. The buffet breakfasts were tasty and good. Limited selection but if I could find food to eat, no one should have a problem....

We stayed here 3 nights on a birding tour, and liked the casual atmosphere, the activity on the grounds (the visit of the scarlet macaws!, the white-face monkeys at breakfast, the secretive owls..). The room was spartan, with no seating area, thin towels and sheets, and the dining chairs were a bit uncomfortable -- hard, wooden. There is a very...

We had a great time here. Our bungalow was superb, including a big frog inside which we had removed :) Hey...this is jungle and a frog can enter your room. The bathroom was superb. The ppol was OK and a lot of birds visited the place as well, including macaws. Monkeys visited as well.

Lovely place, beautiful setting, comfortable and clean rooms. Only minor negative was food wasn't great but perfectly acceptable. Birding in the grounds and along the access road is good. The macaws are pretty impressive. Good location for access to Carara and Croc tours

Very nice lodge well located in the mountain with comfortable rooms and swimming pool. The staff is very friendly. Birds and monkeys come every morning to have breakfast with you :-). 5 minutes drive from the national park.

This hotel's reception/restaurant/lounge overlooks the Gulf of Nicoya and Nicoya Peninsula over the tops of a forested area. Great sunset shots. You can walk down a secluded road all the way to the 'Croc Bridge' over the Rió Tárcoles - approx. 6 km. The rooms are clean and spacious and AC works well. Best hot showers we've experienced in Costa...

Every morning the macaws, mostly scarlet & yellow, fly overhead on their way to the coast, and each evening they return, occasionally stopping to perch in the trees around the property where many other birds with sweet songs can be seen & heard. No tv here, just clean, comfortable & quiet rooms. The pool is cleaned every day, and the...
