A traditional Village Pub well off the beaten track, a warm welcome from friendly staff serving good Beer and food at a reasonable price. Comfortable rooms with en suite and a loverly North Yorkshire view. Well worth a visit.

we ate here on a friday evening having walked from clay bank top to glaisdale on the coast to coast. The laneside B&B had booked the table and dropped us off (the arncliffe is the only pub left in the village). The staff were courteous and attentive, the service quick and the food good quality. Following the meal (as the... More

Dropped off here by our B&B host at Laneside and my son and I went for the Sunday Roast Beef (large). Best meal on our C2C walk. Beef was sumptuous, plenty of veg and loads of gravy and tasty horseradish. Pudding (Raspberry and Sherry trifle for me) was delicious. Friendly place. We ate early so it was not too busy.

I stayed here one night on my recent coast to coast walk, rating this 5/10. Room small and felt a little grubby, Id hate to be staying on the nights they have bands playing. Better off finding something in Egton bridge to cut down on the length of your final days walk.

I was in the area for a wedding and chose the Arncliffe on the back of a Trip Advisor suggestion. It was perfect for my first experience of the North Yorkshire Moors. The friendly welcome from the owners and the food was fantastic. I ate on the evening after arriving and again for breakfast. Both great meals

Asked for an hotel near Whitby that took dogs and the Arncliffe Arms came up. Goid price and excellent feedback on Hotels.com so took a shot. It is in a spectacular location but it s extremely remote... it us in the middle of the North York Moors and it's a fair drive from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Think maybe... More

Arrived at 7pm to be told no more food being served as kitchen over busy... Only for a couple to come in after us to ask for a table to be given a menu and served food...majority of tables in bar & restaurant empty. Only pub in the village with no other food outlets... suggest this pub gets more staff... More

The food here is very good, the staff are all welcoming so it is a real shame that the rooms let it down. The ensuite has cracked tiles and there was large patch in the bedroom ceiling. But the room was very clean and lovely large white towels. It just needs some TLC and it would be perfect.
