I booked this place on a whim, we needed a half term getaway and don't want to spend loads of money. I booked a comfort cottage for 6 nights for 5 (2x adults, 14, 9 and 3 year old) at the reasonable price of £500 - excluding ferry (this was £200 with FerrySavers)
( It makes a difference when booking outside of Dutch and German school holidays, but even then is still considerably cheaper than a UK Centre Parcs).
This gave us 3 bedrooms (2x twin and 1single) a spacious living dining area, basic but well equipped kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
The accommodation was clean, well laid out and well equipped for our stay. The beds were very comfy and the cottage lovely and warm, the added bonus of a log fire was perfect for the chilly February evenings.
The kitchen is basic (hob and microwave with crisper) but as we have stayed in self catering accommodation across France we were more than used to this. it had everything we need to cook and serve and everything was clean and well looked after. There was also a dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.
For our stay the accommodation was perfect and would definitely book again. It looks like the parc is undergoing some renovations and the cottages being renewed. This would bring this park online with others in the country.
The actual parc is well situated (31/2 hours drive from Calais, 13/4 hrs from Amsterdam) it was quiet and I suspect in the summer months really lovely.
The aqua Mundo was good, a little tired in places, it may benefit from some more slides or expansion to the lazy river in the future, but this didn't take away from the children's enjoyment. It was great as it was so quiet on more than one occasion I had the pool to myself!
The area was very clean and plenty of lifeguards around the pool.
Grabber Joes did nice snacks, but like all these places it was pricy. There were no rules about not taking your own drinks and snack in.
There is a small onsite supermarket which was not that greatly stocked however just a 10 minute drive away there was an Aldi or Jumbo which were better priced with a better selection.
The restaurants in the central area have plenty of choice, however they were vastly overpriced €30 for some ribs seemed extortionate. We didn't eat there in there end and drove to the town of Meterik to a great little Italian called La Rondine. I would definitely recommend it.
There were plenty of activities on offer each day and we were able to book them as and when we wanted to do them, on more than one occasion we had the sports hall to ourselves which was great fun.
Bowling was great fun, a lovely little bowling alley and again really quiet and easy to book.
This was a really great break away and one of the best I have had at Centre Parcs, far more enjoyable than CP breaks I have had in the UK. I am looking forward to trying out some other parcs in the not to distant future. Staff were very helpful and friendly and I found the whole experience very relaxing and perfect for the half term getaway.

It's a great experience.
I drove here from London, it's about 3 hours in the car from the Dunkirk ferry terminal, all on good roads.
The site is flat and compact, much better than other Center Parcs I have been to. Everything very walkable.
The staff are all very friendly, very polite.
Aqua Mundo is good, although maybe not as good for older kids as there is only one slide, which can some times have quite a queue. The outdoor heated pool is lovely in all weathers. The wave pool goes frequently, there are rafts etc. At night the staff bring out speakers and play cheesy Dutch europop and all the people go mad for it.
Everything is trilingual. Dutch, English and German. There is an entertainment programme in the evening, Bingo, disco, quiz etc, and all can be understood and participated in by everyone who speaks those languages.
Chalets are nice. We upgraded to a VIP chalet which has a sauna and jacuzzi, as well as morning bread delivery. My son tried the jacuzzi and enjoyed it, nobody has been to the sauna. The bread that they deliver isn't anything special. I am not sure if VIP is worth it.
The big negative is the prices in the centre for food and drinks. Really poor food at high, high prices. My daughter had a chicken tortilla bowl, which was €23. A few chicken nuggets from a deep fat fryer on some lettuce inside a shaped tortilla, and some paper containers with guacamole and sour cream. Honestly, not worth €10. Pizzas are €18 minimum and are pathetic. Soft drinks €4, pint of lager €7.
10 minutes drive away there is the town of Horst with pizzeria, Chinese restaurant, Indian, all doing takeaway if you prefer to eat in the chalet.
There is an onsite shop - again ridiculous prices, again you can drive to Horst to Lidl or Albert Hejn and stock up. Or, if you are coming by car, bring groceries, drinks, snacks, fairy liquid, dishwasher tablets, Dolce Gusto pods with you. If you have an airfryer, consider bringing that because the microwave / oven combination is a bit weird and very, very slow to cook things in the oven.

It was clean and well-organised. Swimming pools good with plenty of entertainment and chairs for adults. Food inside expensive, so we were out shopping and in nearby Horst for dinner. The kitchen was well equipped, we only needed to buy washing up liquid. Basic standard though, but worth the money. It was the best price during the summer holidays.

Thank you for your review! We're pleased to hear that you found the park clean and well-organized, and that the swimming pools provided plenty of entertainment for both adults and kids. It’s great to know that the kitchen was well-equipped and that you were able to find good deals on groceries nearby. We booked a last minute 10 night break at this Centre Parc site. It was my second visit but my wife has been many times before. I was surprised at how reasonable the cost was after expecting to pay significantly more as the whole of NL was staycationing.
The online check-in process worked well and our keys were passed through our car window on a pizza oven stick. We arrived at 2:15 and we'd expected to be stuck in the car park waiting until the 3pm check-in time. Nice touch, we were able to access our bungalow early.
Our apartment was as described and cleaned well. One of the reasons we booked this site was it's forest setting. It was busy but quiet. Gorgeous dark skies for stargazing.
We only used the Market Dome area once to buy emergency ice cream. The shop there had "petrol station" prices e.g. croissant for €1 in the same week Lidl had them at 5 for €1. We didn't use the pool, bars or restaurants preferring to keep away from other people whenever possible.
We hired a bike, a little expensive at €46, but there's no competition nearby. The bike was a 3 speed omafiets, not that impressive. But it was nice to have the option of cycling on the forest paths.
The Schadijkse Bos starts opposite the park and has plenty to enjoy. But for our dog walks we preferred to drive 2km to the Gusseweg car park. Here you had nice views across sand dunes and heather.
During our visit the Aan De Drift pannekoek restaurant was only open at weekends.
Shopping was good, just a 10 minute drive away at Horst with a free car park adjacent to Plus & Lidl supermarkets.
Even better, and only 30km away, was Lidl in Germany (Nettetal). Bourbon (€7.80 for 70cl), whiskey, gin, tobacco (€4.65 for 40g), cigarettes all significantly cheaper than in NL. It's also worth filling your car with fuel in Germany too - Euro95/E10 was €1.25 compared to NL's €1.50+.
To summarise Centre Parcs Limburgse Peel delivered as promised and coped well with the new reality. We felt safe at all times and we have no hesitation in recommending it.

We finally got to travel after first booking for Easter 2020 and this park didn’t disappoint. We deliberately chose a smaller park for our toddler’s (3) first trip abroad and to allow our nearly 11 year old a bit more independence, going to the park/scooting round the cottage by himself. It was perfect. Although this is the smallest park in the Netherlands and smaller than others we have stayed at on the continent it didn’t feel like it, there was still plenty to do, lots of facilities and being compact only enhanced our experience. We swam every day and the pool is a really nice size, never felt too busy and was clean and well organised. There’s a lazy river rapid, big slide, two small ones, waves, jacuzzi, outdoor pool and cold plunge pool. Both kids loved it. The market dome had options for eating and the supermarket was well stocked, obviously a little pricier but we didn’t mind for convenience. We bowled one evening which was great and there was always entertainment in the market dome. Our kids favourites were the kids safari and hiring go carts and a family pedal buggy. We also played crazy golf. The cottages have either been renewed or are in the process of being renewed. When cycling round we realised there was a lot of work ongoing renewing the chalets but the works didn’t interfere in any way and the cottages are looking great after. The park is 10 minutes from Toverland and we spent a lovely day here too, great theme park. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The cottage itself was great. We had a smaller 3 bed and it was perfect for us, two twin/double and a single which was perfect for the toddler, he loved having his own room. We had the basic comfort cottage but it never felt ‘basic’ we had everything we needed including a dishwasher which was a surprise. One thing to note if traveling from the UK is traffic. It’s about 2 hours from Europoort but on check out we traveled at rush hour, there had been several accidents and the journey took over 3 hours - we were worried we would miss our ferry back. We had a fantastic time and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The 3 bedroom chalets are small for a family. The one we stayed in was a good 15 minute walk to the pool and restaurants
The restaurants and on site supermarket are extremely expensive and border on thievery. I mean €1.70 for a small bottle of water I could buy for 25 cents in Lidl.
The service is extremely poor. You would think the servers wished you were not there. What restaurants in Europe close their kitchens at 9pm? They wouldn’t even allow us to buy a slice of cake!
The bar closes at 10pm at which time they are literally kicking you out despite being happy to take your money 5 minutes earlier for your drinks.
The pool area when crowded is not enjoyable. They have 1 main slide that you wait 5-10 minutes to ride. The hot tub struggles to fit 4 people.
I wouldn’t return.

We have just returned from a five night stay here and what a fabulous place indeed! We stayed at the UK Woburn centre parcs a few years ago (outside school holidays) and cannot justify the extortionate price now my eldest is in school. A friend mentioned the Europe Center parcs and so I booked Limburgse Peel for the October half term for half the price of the UK ones! Even with the cost of the train to Calais and the bike hire and activities it was still cheaper than the UK accommodation alone.
Further to that; the site was fabulous, the comfort cottage was comfortable, the whole place was clean, all the staff very friendly and helpful (not to mention how wonderful their English was!)! The activities we booked (mini golf, 4x4, bug hotel making, scavenger hunt, gnome trail, horse carriage ride, the electric family “car”…think that was it and the swimming; were all well arranged, very easy to organise and enjoy and not to mention very reasonably priced!
The cottage was well equipped for what we needed, the bikes we hired were great and especially loved the lock feature, we mainly cooked our own food we purchased from the nearby Aldi (I never did master the “oven” microwave appliance but that didn’t matter).
The differences I found which really added value were the free play areas dotted around, the petting farm, the kids disco, the nature bingo, the range of kids activities, the indoor play area by the restaurant, the fish/koi carp, terrapins, ducks and parrot which the boys loved watching and the general attitude towards the children.
The aqua mundo was great and what really struck me was how much everyone was enjoying the facilities and there was no overboard health and safety warnings or restrictions like you find in England. There was something for everyone of all ages and it seemed really disabled-friendly from what I saw with access and even special chairs.
I really cannot fault the park at all and think it’s a shame some of the previous reviews choose to point out areas for improvement (if you spend more money where it’s not needed then prices would go up for visitors!) plus you can’t please everyone and you can’t go around in life moaning for the sake of moaning. The park do an amazing job, the staff were all so lovely, the cycle Center is so well run and the staff knowledgeable and so helpful, the reception were so lovely and helpful, the restaurant staff were always friendly and available, the shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. I really cannot fault this parc at all and think they all deserve a huge pat on the back and thanks for their hard work.
On the whole I really enjoyed the Netherlands and the Dutch people. It was such a lovely visit.
My 3 and 6 year old boys have made the best memories along with us. Will be booking another European CP break for next October half term!
Thank you to everyone!!!!

Poor all round really. We were booked into the neighboring park but when we arrived were told that our dog could not go into any of the restaurants or other facilities on site. This was not advised at the time of booking.
We went to reception and they were very helpful at first, finding us accommodation on the Limsburge Peel site as dogs are allowed in the market dome and restaurant. We were not however, told that there were very few activities available on site. With 2 teenagers, this has resulted in us having to cut our stay short by 5 days as we cannot bear to be on site any longer.
The activities that are available are hideously overpriced, we paid money to play supagolf and the course had clearly not been maintained in recent years. The same can be said for the rest of the site, it is very tired looking and needs refreshing in most areas.
The quality of food in the restaurant on site and the snack bar is poor and again, everything is very expensive. Drinks and a pastry for 4 cost €46 and is not a mistake I would make again.
If you have small children then this site may be suitable but children over 8 will have a hard time finding activities to keep them entertained without breaking the bank and repeating activities every day.
Over priced, no hire bikes available, and lack of facilities. The weather this week was a bonus but the choice of opening the windows or being bitten alive by mosquitoes only added to our woes. Accomodation (VIP Cottage) was damp as the roof leaked when we had the evening of heavy rain and the property had not been cleaned very well after the previous occupants.
I wouldn't recommend anyone staying at this site, a shame as we drove a long way to get there and have now had to pay out for alternative accommodation at a much nicer site (for less than half the price)
Nb. Don't book the bread package, 12 rolls/croissants a day for 4 people is insane and just results in wastage.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay at our park. We are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered and that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand the importance of being able to bring your dog with you, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lack of information about pet policies. We are glad that our reception team was able to assist you by finding alternative accommodation, but we regret that the facilities and activities on the Limburgse Peel site did not meet your needs, particularly for teenagers. We appreciate your comments on the maintenance of the site and activities. Your feedback will be shared with our team to address the concerns about the upkeep and pricing of the activities. It is also disappointing to hear about your experience with the quality and cost of the food and beverages. We will review this with our food service teams to improve both quality and value. We are sorry that the VIP cottage did not meet your expectations regarding cleanliness and comfort. This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and we will address this with our cleaning staff to ensure better preparation and maintenance in the future. Thank you for your feedback about the bread package; we will consider your suggestions to make improvements in this area. We regret that your stay was not enjoyable and hope that your new accommodation is meeting your expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with this valuable feedback. The Center Parcs Team

Value for money. I think one of the smallest parks. You get what you pay for. The main attraction was the pool. Three pools and a couple of pools for small children and one shoot. They were all good and spent an hour a day in them. Used the park as a base. I think if you went there just to spend the whole time at the park you would get bored by the first day. The shop in the park is overpriced but sells the essentials. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby. The accommodation is nice, not particularly clean but I think that’s mainly to do with the surrounding trees and debris coming into the accommodation. We selected the cleaners package so it was ok when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and the shower was fine. Kitchen was ok no main cooker some sort of mircowave/combi thing. I didn’t use it. There is a hob which you can cook on. Only purchased a snack in the restaurant which was ok and I didn’t think it was expensive. We ate in the restaurants in the surrounding towns. We hired bikes for two days plenty of places outside the park to ride and the country is very much set up for cyclists. We pre booked archery which was an hour well spent. Mind mystery which is only a few miles away is worth a visit to fill an hour or so. Toverland is also around the corner. If we were to visit the Netherlands again we would probably go to a bigger park and probably nearer more attractions as we were with two teenagers. Overall as stated you get what you pay for and it’s a lot cheaper than the UK. Like any type of self-catering prepare and bring you basics from home.

Thank you for sharing your experience at the park. I'm glad to hear that the pool and the accommodation met your expectations, and that you found the beds comfortable. We understand that you found the park to be on the smaller side and that the shop was overpriced. It’s great to know you made use of nearby supermarkets and enjoyed local dining options. The park's location seems to have offered some nice nearby attractions, like Mind Mystery and Toverland, which is a bonus for exploring the area. We're sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the accommodation was an issue, though it's good that the cleaners package helped somewhat. Your feedback regarding the kitchen facilities and the overall value for money is helpful and will be shared with our team. If you decide to visit the Netherlands again, we hope you find a park that better fits your needs. Thank you again for your feedback—it’s invaluable for improving our services. The Center Parcs Team

Overall very good, but in desperate need of updating, investment and a lick of paint.
Microwave and dishwasher not very good at all. No double bed, only singles that can be pushed together.
The sofa is VERY uncomfortable.
Childproof safety device required on the fireplace door, even when not in use. Shower screen simply not big enough.
The main dome area looks like it hasn't had an update/fresh coat of paint in years.
Otherwise we've had a very enjoyable stay, squeezed in a day trip to cologne, the kids have had a great time.
Everything was very clean, all the staff incredibly polite and helpful, and thankfully spoke excellent English as our Dutch is non-existent.
Good value for money, especially compared to the price of center parcs in the UK.
Finally, on the last morning, we went for breakfast that we had paid for when I originally booked, and reserved the previous the evening. To be told that they won't let us in without the ticket, they could see the reservation, we showed them the original booking invoice (to which they responded that it can't be paid for online), without that ticket they wouldn't let us in. Impossible to believe that in 2023 they don't have a centralised booking system.

Hello Andrew,
If you are staying at Limburgse Peel in one of the cottages there, I think that it would be unlikely that you would be able to use the facilities of the hotel at Het Meerdal.
I do not know for sure, but the quickest way to find out would be to phone the help line at Limburgse Peel. The number to use should be +31 (0) 77 464 84 84.
They do have a WhatsApp service at Limburgese Peel as well and that is +31 (0) 610 53 33 92.
Sorry I cannot help more.
Regards,
