Our family of three rented a Ooghduyn bungalow for a week. The bungalows are very well designed and using well the space. They are clean and, because they are very new still, in very good shape.

It can in theory accommodate up to 6 people, as the cozy couch in the living room area can turn into a decent bed.

We probably had the hottest week of the last century in Holland (28°C), and therefore couldn't use the beds upstairs in the mezzanine (temperature up to 40° after having the bungalow closed during the day!). On the normal days, it is a good place to sleep though, with a very steep ladder though (which can be blocked using a baby-barrier).

The nights were cool, but started rather late (becomes dark around 22h00). Our child stayed up late every evening, which was okay since it was on holidays.

The bungalow has magnificent windows directed to the beach, giving perfect view on the beach and on the sunsets, which we enjoyed at dinner. Using curtains, you get the necessary privacy when wanted.

Hot water is generated with solar panels, which means you have to be a bit more careful on how long each one showers or doing the dishes (by hand, no dishwasher). On sunny days, it should cover for two time a half-hour of hot water. On other days, one half hour. We behaved conservatively an never ran out of water.

They have a nice Samsung flat panel TV on the wall and a generic DVD player, both with USB sockets (couldn't try them). WLAN is free and good.

The two restaurants left and right of the bungalows (Paal6 and Zee van Tijd) are both quite okay in my eyes, so if you're not up to cooking, they are worth a visit.

The big downside of the bungalows is the long walk between your car and your bungalow. There are 66 of these bungalows, and your walk may be up to 10-15 minutes (approx. 1 Km), which on paper looks like nothing, but when carrying groceries with a beating sun becomes suddenly very, very looong. They do provide a luggage service upon arrival and departure, though, but it's only one bag/suitcase per person. We strongly recommend renting upfront a pull cart (Bollerwagen).

The big upside is of course the beach. You're on it. No need to pack, to go to the beach, no need to install, no need to pick nick. It's there, on your doorstep. According to my 5yr daughter, the sand is perfect. We did some sandcastles, we raised our kite (lots of wind, btw, take a beach tent with you), we fished for shrimps at low tide. Because of the sand banks, your child can walk pretty far out (50m) and still have water below the armpits.

We recommend these bungalows and would like to return.

Very nice park, great staff, very friendly. Our house was clean and well decorated (we had a recently renovated house). Nice pool and good indoor playground (it tends to get a bit warm in here). Great surroundings, lots of things to do in the neighborhood. The walk to the beach is about 15-20 minutes. Lots of houses are owned, so it's pretty calm in the communal areas.

We didn't stay at one of the beach houses (which are removed for winter), but in one of the normal bungalows in the park. We had an 8 person bungalow with 3 couples and 2 kids. The space was just OK for all of us, however the house had a very run down look. Some of the chairs were very worn and also most of the interior all very dated. The park lacked atmosphere due to the combination of normal residential homes and holiday rentals. Besides the small pool and play ground, there isn't that much to do here.

Nice park, close to the sea. We like to swim very much, but the water in the swimming pool was way too cold, after 10 minutes we had to go unter a hot shower to warm up again. Unfortunately they know about this problem, but do not fix it, to bad rest of the place is nice although.

The Landal Beach resort is quite large and offers on the beach "strandhuisjes" - beach houses. There are some 80+ little houses next to each other on the beach, so you cannot get closer to the sea that this. The houses are well equipped and offer sleeping places for up to 6 persons (2 single beds on attic, reachable by very steep chair, one double bed in the bedroom, and a sofa that can be transformed to a double bed. The kitchen is well layed out. The room furniture is simple and effective. The bathroom has a shower heated with solar panels. All is very clean. In front is a small raised terrace. As a service the resort offers at certain times transport of luggage from the parking (15 minute walk from the houses - you cannot park on the beach) of one piece per person staying in the house, which is much appreciated. Free wifi in the houses worked without problems. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are many additional things offered by the resort but we did not use it as we enjoyed the beach and the sea.

A beautiful place to rent a beach house. The sand is marvelous- the sunsets magnificent, and the restaurants on the beach cozy and serving good food. A great place to spend a few days. The beach house is well equipped to fix your own meals and snacks. Beds comfortable.

Had a very relaxing low season 9 days with my wife at an apartment at the Landal GreenPark Ooghduyne self-catering holiday park in Julianadorp close to the beach. (The beach houses are only there in the summer season.) A spaciously laid out site with 2km walk or cycle ride to the beach. We have booked a 10 person house and 6 person house beside it for a family reunion here in summer 2016. The children and grandchildren will love it. Beautiful indoor swimming pool. Lots of choice in bike hire. Two restaurants. Midget golf. Golf course on site.

On the plus side, the site is only an hour from Amsterdam and we caught a train there very easily. The beach was lovely and only ten minutes walk from our house, with a good snack bar, toilets and restaurant. The onsite restaurant was nice and the staff very helpful. The playground outside the restaurant is good with a big jumping pillow and my children(9 and 11)loved the pool and slide. Julianadorp itself has a lovely ice cream parlour, several supermarkets, a toy shop, a cheese shop, some cafes and restaurants(we went to the Italian in a little retail park close to the holiday park).

However! Our house was not very clean(wrappers and a pencil on the floor in the bedrooms when we arrived and the previous occupants had left their rubbish bags in the storeroom/garage. There were cobwebs on the walls/ceiling in the bedrooms). The streetlight opposite our front bedroom windows flickered on and off all night which was extremely annoying. We complained to Reception, but nothing was done and the flickering continued. There was a large pile of dead leaves and paper outside the front step which looked scruffy.

We stayed in a house for 6 which was spacious, but some of the decor was a little tired.

The area of Julianadorp is beautiful, and the coastal areas are fantastic. Lots of biking and outdoor fun to be had...the major problem was the accommodations at this "resort". I would suggest inspecting the bungalow before you move in for your holiday. The bungalows are spacious (we had the six person bungalows). Our 2 families with children stayed in 2 houses, and the one we received was extremely run down, bath facilities not adequately clean. The biggest problem was a massive ant infestation on the main floor which indirectly lead to an elderly person's fall and subsequent fractures. The fridge did not work adequately. The indoor and outdoor play facilities are modest. The indoor pool facility seemed exciting, until we recognized the cleanliness was very poor. Food residues from the nearby bar littered the pool sides and edges of the water. We departed early. The beach bungalows might have been better (we enjoyed the beach near their location), but you must realize that ii is a long walk from where you would park to the actual house you will be occupying - no small task if you are bringing family and stuff. No air conditioning, and a definite lack of screened windows. Wifi was great - and allowed us to find another place to stay to finish the vacation.

Just got back from here, place was lovely and peaceful.

Accommodation was good and clean.

Swimming Pool was again peaceful and very clean, kids enjoyed the flumes/slide.

Beach was incredible and easy to get to.

Definitely recommend for a family holiday with loads to do.
