Me and my friend stayed at Solimar Emerald 5 nights and only returned to London. We will miss the place and all the lovely staff memebers that made our stay great ☺️ We received a studio ( 2 Queen Size beds) with a huge terrace and amazing view over the pool and the sea. Very clean and sunsets were beautiful. The pool great for swimming and very clean. Great drinks at the bar and entertainement every night, however we stayed mostly out so cannot comment much on that but the other visitors looked like they enjoyed themselves. Giorgos and Manolis, the bartenders at the Pool Bar made us the best coffees in the morning and really looked after us all the time, thank you guys. We always had a good laugh with them. I like to mention that ever other member of the team was great also and always ready to help. P.S. We will miss Luna 🐶 and Soli🐱 also :)…
We stayed in this hotel for 11 days, we found it on lastminute.com, and it was a really fair price for all the services included. The personnel is really nice and available for any request and solve any problems. The beach isn’t right in front of the hotel, but by just walking for 10 minutes you can find great beaches that you can rent for a very low price. The restaurant offers a great choice of foods, ranging from greek typical food to pasta. The pool is big and 1,70 meters deep, along with another smaller pool that is for kids. The wifi works in the whole hotel, rooms included and it is pretty fast. Rooms are good, we got the 203, which had 2 twin size beds and one queen size. The entertainment for kids especially is really professional and fun, but it’s not too invasive if you don’t care about that stuff. The position of this hotel is not the best, but there is a bus stop right in front of the structure, which takes you to Rethymno with a 1,20 euro bus ticket. (purchasable at the nearest mini markets). We had a great vacation and here and we thank all of the great people here! We had a great time to Solimar Emerald. Was our first holiday with Mattia, our baby 10 months older, thank you for help us to have a super relaxing holiday!! Since our arrival everybody of the staff was great with us! Adriana she reserved for us a extralarge bedroom In the ground floor with a little bed for our little baby and a terrace outside for enjoy the night since the end. Superconfort! The room has some years but is very big, well equipped and well kept. The Receptionists Maria & Adriana were supernice for every need! Always welcoming us with a big smile and keep us update about the program of the week (without pressing us in any way) The restaurant is the top! Good food that was changing every day with a mix between Greek and international… was missing grilled fish! The girls at the restaurant were excellent! Every time that we came they was bringing the baby seat and our drinks instantly! Mattia felt in love with all of this amazing girls that took care of us (and cleaned all the messy of mattia 😅). Thank you to digMara for all fresh fruit she prepared and brought to mattia and for all smiles and help of Catarinha & Eleferinhas (freedom) In the while George and his colleague was taking care of Marco instead of fruit he was enjoying local beer and ouzo! Every morning we very appreciate to Flora and her colleague for clean and keep order in our room. Thank you for give with you smile the good morning to Mattia for all our permanency! The last but not the least…Georgia the maîtresse of the hotel! Very kind, always at disposition and super well informed! She gave to us a lot of infos about beach, she borrow us the mask for snorkeling she told us a lot of story about Crete!!I think I can keep writing and wrings about our stay… but until you don’t go for holiday in Solimar Emerald you can’t understand how is the feeling! With his +\- 20 rooms they create a enjoyable place where spend a lovely holiday! Thank you for the soft and fun animation of all nights close to the restaurant and the 2 swimming pools (the small one 0,70cm perfect for the baby and the big one 1,50mt) Only one thing… for reach the beach you have to cross the street… by the way in 2 Mins by feet you can reach the first beach. For the rest it was everything perfect! Thank you at all the staff!…
This small hotel was amazing. From the bar staff to the reception staff to the cleaners to the restaurant staff- I could not find fault. All were professional and made us feel welcome in Crete. The pool area was not crowded and was a quiet haven. The photos don’t do it justice. The sunset outside the bar- facing the sea was breathtaking. The children who were there were respectful and watched over by their parents. The “all inclusive” was what it was. A little hit and miss but, generally, good. I felt “at home” during our stay. I’m struggling to put into words just how much this holiday meant to me. I loved every moment. I look forward to going back.
We loved this hotel where stayed with our three primary school-aged kids. The hotel is at the edge of Rethymno, away from the busy streets but close enough to walk to plenty of tavernas and beaches. There is also a bus service which stops just outside the hotel. Because the hotel is small, the staff are able to give a personalised service and are so friendly. It also means the pool is quiet and there are plenty of sun loungers to go around. We found it super relaxing as we could see our children in the pool at all times without having to be in there with them. The restaurant had a good selection at each meal - we enjoyed everything we ate and the kids could always find something to suit them. The food was fairly authentic Greek with some familiar favourites too. The drinks were fine, we liked the wine. You pay extra for familiar brands of spirits. Our room had plenty space and a balcony overlooking the sea. The rooms all have some seats outside so you can put your kids to bed and still sit outside and enjoy the entertainment which happened by the poolside. Overall I would recommend this hotel to families looking for a quieter resort.…
There are many ways to describe the Solimar Emerald and it’s staff, but excellent is the only word I can use. While a little way from the hustle and bustle of other local resorts, this smaller hotel (but with loads of space and facilities) provided the peaceful location we wanted. With only 29 rooms, the hotel never feels busy or noisy. With most of the rooms being towards the back of the property rooms are quiet. With all of this said, the hotel is only a short walk to shops and a range of tavernas, some on the beautiful beach if you want them, although like us, most people were taking advantage of the all-inclusive board. The choice of food within the buffet was good for both children and adults, and the all-inclusive bar included a full range of soft and alcoholic beverages. While at the hotel we booked tours to Rethymno, only about 15 minutes away… the old town was a rabbit warren of beautiful narrow streets, with a plethora of bars, shops and restaurants. We also took the Knossos and Heraklion Museum…. both amazing. The only trip we weren’t happy about was the day trip to Santorini… lovely in theory but the ferry each way was just over the hours, so a lot of your day is travelling. While we loved seeing the amazing white buildings on Oia, I’m not sure it was worth 175 euros each! This was a fantastic trip to Solimar Emerald… we loved staying here, not least because the hotel is great, but the staff are what makes this place special… really special! Thank you to all of them… I’m not going to name them all because each one always made us feel welcome and made every day brighter! Thank you to you all.…

Just returned from a brilliant week at the Solimar Emerald with 3 friends. Our flight out from Gatwick was cancelled last minute so we had to book another for the following day. I rung the hotel to explain and Maria and Adrianna were very helpful and understanding. The change in flights meant we arrived a day late and didn’t get to the hotel until 1am, they had taken the time to make sure we had a lovely plate of cold meats and cheeses waiting for each of us along with beers and juices! VERY much appreciated after a long days travelling. The hotel itself was a nice mix of families, couples or like us a group of friends, very nice and chilled out during the day. Zara the entertainer guy did a good job of getting everyone together during the day for water aerobics which was fun. We paid a little extra for a suite and was very impressed with the rooms which were large and cleaned very well every day. The food was very nice with a good amount of choices for each meal and there was some nice restaurants within walking distance if you did fancy breaking things up a bit. A taxi into town cost no more than 15E and whoever was on the front desk would always order one for us if we fancied a night out. All in all we had an awesome week at the Solimar Emirald and I’d like to thank Gloria, Adrianna and Maria for making us feel very welcomed and looked after, these guys never stop smiling even tho they are working hard!!…
Our experience in this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were extremely friendly and made us welcomed throughout our stay. Georgia the manager,Maria the receptionist were so helpful and kind. Our room was spacious and we are 100% happy with the cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general. They provided a variety of fresh local foods and the catering staff looked after us very well. What i found good is also the meal times,eg. Breakfast from 7:30-10:45 🙂 The hotel itself has a good location and a great atmosphere.
