Where to start with the resort. Staff very welcoming from start to finish every minute of the day. All the food was fantastic with many different food types to choose from. Asia White was our favourite. All the choices were amazing!! The buffet always had something different everyday! The rooms were cleaned everyday and the hotel in general was very clean! The staff always taking pride in the hotel and how it looked. One staff member in particular made our honeymoon something to remember.. Socrates in the downstairs bar (long beach bar) He is a credit to the team at the white palace. He always went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. You very rarely see a true bartender that takes pride in what he does & has the banter and time to talk to all guests! Never change Soco! Thank you for a great experience and have a John Daniels and Coke for us haha. Thank you at white palace for making our honeymoon special! Hope to see you all again soon !!! Dan & Kirsty x…
After recently arriving back from a week in this beautiful place I had to write a review and let people know how good this place really is hotel is spotless food and great Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you One of the bar staff really stood out and made our holiday one to remember Socrates made us feel so welcome and I’d go back just to sit as he’s bar
Raw Sewage is never a good start! So having lived though check in and Security at Birmingham airport, followed by a 4 hour flight to Chania, then pick up hire car with a one hour drive to the hotel. What is the one thing you are looking forward to?? Dip on the Sea, swim in the pool, glass of beer, wine?? Its not raw sewage flooding your bathroom floor on arrival. We had to wait for the ‘Man’ to come and ‘unblock’ the problem, then 30 minutes for a cleaner to ‘mop up’. If you read other reviews we are not the only ones to have this, do they not check rooms properly. It was a nice swim up room, just wasn’t expecting a swim out room. Overall, this is a family hotel so probably deserves 5 stars if you have very young children. Otherwise for adults, I would say 4 stars is about right. Just don’t ask for a swim out room!…
Just returned from a 7 night stay in this stunning hotel. We booked a sea view bungalow as it was our first visit to Greece and i could not of been happier the views were absolutely beautiful. The hotel itself was stunning so clean lovely food and very friendly and helpful staff. A massive thankyou to Socrates who worked the downstairs bar, always so cheerful and happy to see you and his cocktail making was excellant . I can honestly say i cannot fault anything about this hotel and we are planning on returning next year . Thankyou to all the staff you should be proud of yourselves.
We arrived back last week from this beautiful resort is wonderful Crete As Group of 9 women we wanted to find resort to relax and have fun and this resort did not disappoint in fact exceeded all our expectations. From moment we Arrived to evening of departure the staff constantly went out of their way to make our trip memorable The resort is very fortunate to have prime location with stunning views everywhere you look and sunsets you only expect to see in photos. To have choice of 5 restaurants all with menu and waiter service and full wine lists is what in my opinion makes this resort extra special . Loved the choices and opportunity to try such a variety of cuisine. - trip to Agreco Farm very enjoyable too So many renews mention bar staff and we all agreed that Makis and team who were wonderful and provided fun entertainment and drinks when required. Every person in our Party was blown away by resort , view , food and staff . A thank you to Grigorios Grigoriou for helping arrange our trip so all we had to do was turn up and enjoy , plus special mention to Charalabos Gialitakis for making our trip so memorable , its obvious that under his guidance the staff are happy in the work place and want all guests to have the best time . Happy staff makes happy guests Just to mention room , if you treat yourself to PETIT YALI SEAFRONT SUITE WITH SHARING POOL I promise you will not be disappointed - they are stunning We certainly hope to return one day soon and would definitely recommend this resort .…
We have just returned from a week at Grecotel White Palace and overall had a very good trip - the food was always exceptional, service generally quite good (though a lot of things lost in translation meaning having to order multiple times), the beach was incredible and the extras like the chocolate shop and ice cream bar really made it fun and exciting for the kids. The ladies who managed the kids club and did the disco in the evenings were incredible - we were with friends kids who adored them and they went out of their way to make them feel included. All of the pools are salt water - which was strange to get used to but actually very nice in the end. The family pool was actually more fun than the main pool and we spent more time there (it was also much easier to get seats) Our family room was OK — though the design of the balcony is a little dangerous (there is a ledge that makes it easy for small kids to climb) so we had to keep the doors to the balcony closed at all times. Housekeeping service was very good - and they left something nice in the room every day. We did have an experience on our second-to-last day, where one of the bar staff was making quite rude comments about women, very loudly, as he was serving us (both women). We stood there for a few minutes then walked away and were laughed at - as it was "just a joke". When we shared it with reception they said "thanks for letting us know". I do feel as though some kind of acknowledgement that it was not a pleasant experience would have been good and perhaps a commitment to training staff on what is and is not appropriate given that it is an international resort. Great location with wonderful views, food, and facilities, otherwise. Also, all staff had masks on and they were quite strict about guests wearing masks when walking around the buffet area, which was very reassuring to us.…
The dinner at the white restaurant from Grecohotel white palace was for me and my daughter in the category unforgettable. The exquisite of the food and especially the combination with the wines. Alexandros ,a waiter / sommelier with a choice of very good winesuggestions is someone we will not forget. Also The chief Jerry , who managed soup for my wife . Thanks for this service!😀👍 Fons van Waterschoot
Just enjoyed a 7 night break here with my wife in one of their swim up bungalows. From the moment of arrival through to departure I really couldn’t fault this hotel & more importantly their staff! Simply awesome & well deserving of their star rating. Always plenty of staff around to assist with any queries. We used the app to prebook restaurants & each restaurant was excellent. Cream of the crop was The White which we used on my birthday, sadly we were unable to book in their again but the Asia White & Finca India in particular were not far behind. Tavernaki food was good but the menu seemed a bit more limited, especially for me as a pescatarian. The main buffet restaurant was excellent for the breakfasts and lunches we had in there (we never actually ate dinner in the main buffet restaurant) We had a couple of a la carte breakfasts in Asia White - wow what an awesome experience! Drinks were always readily available. The whole hotel was constantly kept clean & the housekeeping staff have to be commended on their work ethic & attention to detail. Minor whinge was the limited number of electrical outlets in our room, but we had a late check out room (actually a standard room) in the other side of the hotel that has more sockets including usb sockets. I suspect the hotel has an upgrade plan in place & maybe we were in the non-updated section for our stay. In summary, the hotel & staff are all excellent, I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone & look forward to revisiting at some point in the future. Thank you…
We have just come back from a weeks stay at the Grecotel White Palace and what an excellent stay we had. There are some excellent points to this hotel which I’ve listed below; The hotel is immaculately clean and very well maintained. All of the staff are so friendly and provide excellent service. They work so hard and it really sets them apart from other hotels. There was always good choice at the buffet, with some extra stations where food would be made in front of you which was great. Throughout the hotel, there was always a good connection to the WiFi. The drinks at the bars are mostly branded, which makes a massive difference at an all inclusive resort. Certainly the best we’ve experienced in an all inclusive (the Aperol spritz even came in it’s own glass and the Prosecco they served was lovely). There is also a wide variety of drinks to choose from! (The strawberry margaritas were delicious). The hotel is very light and has a stunning view of the beach. There are several bars that you can visit in the day to get a drink and many places to sit or sunbathe. You are able to visit the 4 Al la cartes once each throughout your stay. Would thoroughly recommend the Fico D’India (Italian) and the White (both excellent food and service). The mini bar is always kept stocked up with beers and soft drinks. A bottle of wine is also provided to you on arrival. There is a 24 hour WhatsApp concierge service, which was really handy. The gelataria where you could get ice cream, fresh waffles and crepes, along with good coffee was a great addition. There is a wine cellar with a helpful sommelier and some lovely wines (inc sparkling). The hotel arranges taxis for fixed prices (€15 to Rethymno). Just some minor areas for improvement; The shower head is on a flexi hose with no option to secure it above knee height. This is a bit of a nightmare when you need to shower daily. Some of the finishes on the construction were not great (for example, chipped tiles on the wall). The patisserie only really services chocolate and opens at 6.30pm which isn’t too beneficial. Welcome drinks should be offered to customers on arrival at the hotel. This would be a nice touch. In some parts of the buffet restaurant, could take a while to be served coffee. The spa treatments were quite overpriced (however this is pretty standard at a 5* hotel). However, overall the hotel was superb! Would definitely look to go back here or another Grecotel hotel in the future! If you book this hotel for your holiday, you will not be disappointed!…
Just returned from a week in the white palace and wow........very impressed. I always read reviews before I book anywhere and I honestly thought the continuous positive reviews were too good to be true.......but they are all correct! The staff were so friendly - everyone genuinely seemed happy to work there and want to ensure you are having a great time. Special mention to Maria in the sunset bar who was just always so lovely and the pool attendant (ashamed I've forgotten his name!) working at the new activity pool every morning ensuring we remained topped up in mimosas. The main highlights - food is exceptional! Best A La Cartes i've experienced outside the Caribbean. Only negative was the Italian where the service took AGES, however just avoided here the rest of the trip. Options for wine and alcohol in all bars is outstanding - again, best AI i've experienced in terms of quality and choice. Finally the new pool is just simply stunning. We were lucky as very few people were aware of this our first few days, so basically had it to ourselves. It got busier as the week progressed, but was still a relaxing, stunning place to enjoy. Overall, this is one of the best holidays i've been on. I rarely go back anywhere twice, but I may have to make an exception for this place!…
