I have to say I was a little worried but this was brilliant… hotel is clean and Irini and all her family is so accommodating. My sons are vegan and she catered personally with breakfast. The check in check out was perfect.. arranging taxis buses tours and quad bikes without any hassle - I will definitely go again !

Lovely little family run hotel in quiet charming village. Irina was so helpful with suggestions for local trips and restaurants.
Immaculately clean and comfortable.
More authentic Greek stay experience than the larger towns. Great value for money with fabulous restaurants just a few steps away.
Thank you

This was our second stay in Santorini, this time in a different location than the first stay. We expected Akrotiri to be calm as it is away from the fuss and crowds of Fira and Oia, and it really did the job in providing a nice, relaxed area with completely sufficient services (a few supermarkets, tarvernas, car rental, ATM etc). The bus connections are brilliant as the bus stop is literately in front of the hotel. Yet, buses go every 20-30 minutes and don't cause any disturbing noise for the hotel rooms, all are behind the main building. The rooms are simple, but offer everything you might need during a one-two week stay. The value for the money is great. If anything, we could have used a few more hangers in the closets, but that itself already speaks for having all we would need. Breakfast included coffee/tea/hot chocolate, bread and marmelade and butter, juice and some greek yogurt with home made figue jam. It was completely enough to get the day started and keep you going for a couple of hours. The pool area was very calm, we had the whole pool to ourselves a few times :)

But the absolute best part with our stay in Adamastos was the family who owns the business. Yannis, Maria and Irini (and Irini's younger sister too:)) really enjoy their business and all their guests. My fiancé and Yannis exchanged football updates every morning and evening, as we stayed there during the world cup. Yannis even knew about Finnish football :) We stayed in the hotel restaurant a few late evenings with them chatting about this and that, had dinner with them once, a wonderful long evening full of good stories of their life, got a "touch of the local life". In Santorini, where it can be overwhelming with tourist crowds and everything very "touristy" in the bigger towns, this was in such a refreshing, genuine way completely the opposite. Thanks to Facebook, we will be keeping in touch with them! Thank you Yannis, Maria and Irini for a wonderful stay.

A few more practical advice, if needed:
During a one week stay we warmly recommend renting a small four-wheeler (" a bug"), it's easy and cheap. Places to visit: the outdoor cinema in Kamari, if not for the movie (though they have good ones!) then for the experience. Wineries: Canava Roussos, Estate Argyros (the best Vinsanto!), Gavalas, Sigalas and Santo Wines (the view is mindblowing in the sunset). Lioyerma Pool and Lounge for a bit of luxury for a low price. Enjoy the Oia sunset, we had drinks in the Sunset Spirit Bar in Oia, really nice! Drive down to the LIghthouse in Akrotiri, it's small but a nice place. Vlyhada port and beach, this is where the locals are. Kamari and Perissa have nice, yet somewhat crowded beaches. The Red Beach is nice to see but can be unpleasantly crowded and not good for swimming. The village a Megalohori - bit of the more authentic Santorini as it's where some locals live. Also the taverna called Raki is very nice. Finally, take a walk all the way from Fira to Imerovigli, the views are hard to discribe, you just have to see it :)

This got really long, but hopefully helpful to someone. Enjoy your stay!!

The quaint Adamastos is located on the southern end of Santorini- in Akrotiri- the archaelogical centerpiece of the island. The rooms have a basic meditteranean feel and stay cool in the hot summer weather. They also each have their own private balconies which overlook arid vineyards. Another highlight of the location other than its proximity to the archaeological site is that it's near what I consider to be one of the best beaches on the island, Red Beach. (Kamari beach is my other favorite). The family who owns this pension are warm and the owner, John, speaks english. I definitely recommend the Adamastos if you're looking for a nice, affordable, and quiet place to rest your head. Oh yeah, and the bus to Fira stops right in front of the hotel, so you can get picked up and dropped off right outside. It's about a 15 minute ride to Fira.

We stayed in Adamastos Hotel in August. We cannot say anything negative about the hotel and the lovely Family that runs it:) The room contained everything what we needed (very comfortable beds, fridge, tv, air condition). Room was cleaned everyday and all hotel area was always sparking clean. The location in our view was perfect, really quiet and far away from noise and crowds. Bus stop was just outside the hotel, so if you want to visit other parts of Santorini, there was no problem with doing so. We just felt so welcomed and comfortable. We would like to say Big Thank You to the whole Family that runs the hotel:) We had lovely relaxing holidays and we could not ask for more:)

For the very kind and always helpful family who manages it, for the beautiful view from the hotel, for the cleaness and beauty of the rooms, for its location with near (by foot!) beautiful beaches and very good tavernas........Adamastos is unique and special from infinite point of views!!
I strongly raccomand it, the permanence in the hotel was wonderful, and Akrotiri village is perfect for visiting all the island, reaching very easily beautiful places, rent cars and eating delicious food at very cheap rates, without the confusion of crowded and "too" turistic places like Fira.

Enjoyed peaceful and relaxing 5-day stay.
Lovely welcoming and helpful staff (owner and family).
Nothing was too much trouble for charming host Irene (and no question was too silly).
Homemade marmalade and cakes included in the breakfast.

Pleasant hotel in village location surrounded by vineyards.
Small pool and sunbathing area.

Selection of tavernas and mini shop in walking distance.
Akrotiri (ancient city) and Red Beach accessible - within walking distance if not too hot.
Easy access to local buses.

We stayed at Adamastos in the beginning of July. An excellent and affordable hotel for those who seek the calm and the beauty of Santorini . Akrotiri at the southern edge of the island were the hotel is located is perhaps less attractive and stunning than Oia and Fira but it is close enough to these places by bus (15 minutes ) and its accommodations are cheaper .We found the red beach which is 25 minutes walk from our hotel a unique in its beauty in comparison with the beaches in Camari and Perissa - an important point for those who like to swim. The owners of the hotel Yanis and Maria , his wife will do their best to make you feel at home in their very clean and nice rooms, very pleasant swimming pool , and their lovely daughter Christy who was so kind to allow us to use her Internet to look at our mail. Ask for a room with a balcony which overlooks the vineyard – it will give you a great pleasure if you like having your reading and self made coffee in a complete inspiring calm. Breakfast is continental and very basic , for some it was totally unsatisfying . We cared less about it - it made us more hungry to enjoy lunch at the nearby Maria Taverna or further at the Panorama which overlooks the Caldera and allows you also the magnificent sunset and with very generous dishes. If you have the intention to rent a car better do it locally after two or three days ride of the bus service. Three days of hiring a car may be enough to visit most of the remote places . Though some time congested you can see the island by using the bus.

Yannis and Maria Adamastos built this lovely hotel in the early 90's and we stayed there the first time in 1995. On our most recent visit we were travelling with another couple, and wanted to arrange accommodation prior to arriving by ferry the following day. A quick phone call from Athens ensured Mr. Adamastos had two rooms and would meet us at the ferry. That was just the start of their superb hospitality! We were given great rooms with large patios to take in sunrise and sunset views over vineyards surrounding the property. At the end of a day visiting other parts of the island, this place was a haven where we often cooled off in the large well-maintained swimming pool. On our last night we arranged to sample some of the two-year old wine produced by the owner, and toasted the sunset at a viewing spot near the hotel overlooking Santorini's caldera. Unforgettable!
